The best thing you could do is just look at how they respond to the negative reviews on here, Google, etc. - is every random person the enemy or are they just a bad company? Following the severe storms in mid-March, they have harassed sweet, elderly women and single mothers in the North County area with outrageous invoices for tens of thousands of dollars for a few hours of work. It couldn't be more obvious how they are simply attempting to prey on vulnerable people in stressful situations, in the hopes of getting the insurance payout, then shout about liens and lawsuits in order to get whatever money they can of out people when either insurance doesn't pay or they want more money. Even going so far as to bring a costumed police officer with them to the door "to collect" - last I checked, cops don't make house calls for bill collection. It is also suspicious that they want their compensation delivered in-person and not sent in the mail - could it because mail fraud is a federal offense?

So, when we needed a tree trimmed and a few smaller, decorative (landscaping) trees and bushes removed, we called them again. I was out of town and a family member was present on the day they arrived. They did a decent job of removing the 3 smaller trees but a terrible job on trimming back two bushes. But the biggest transgression was when they told the family member that a large, 40 year old oak in the back yard which I had planted new, was dead and needed to be removed. It was late fall so leaves were not present to indicate a dead tree. My thought is that the little jobs weren't paying enough so they decided to "find" something to make more money. They cut down this oak, which was NOT dead, and charged a $2500 to do so! A check was given to them on the spot by the family member or I'd have refused. Takeaway? Be present when someone is working and get a second opinion (if needed) on whether a tree is dead or dying. I feel like we got played. Caveat Emptor. Below are 2 bushes they "trimmed." And don't get me started on why they didn't tell a family member that the oak pieces would make good firewood or could even be sold for furniture or wood working!

This company broke two vehicle windshields of mine. The first time was last October. Josh initially apologized and said his wife would call to take care of it. That was a lie because she never called. When I finally managed to catch her on the phone, she refused to submit my claim because she didn't want her insurance rates to go up. Moreover, her local insurance agent never called me back either. When they broke my windshield again this April, Josh was verbally abusive and called me crazy. The home owner apologized for Josh's behavior. However, once again, the local insurance agent never called me back--he was always in a meeting and would call back. LIES! I had to report my loss to the National office of his insurance company and am still trying to fully resolve my claim. Choose a different lawn company that actually cares about their clients and is professional and responsible.

Asked Dennis Wallace for an estimate and they gave me one…read more- it was verbal - I asked for a written estimate which he said that he would get to me and never did. I told Wallace that I was still getting estimates. Then a few days later they went to my property and cut down the tree without my approval. They dropped the tree and put huge holes in my yard. A branch fell and severed a drain pipe and plugged it up and now my gutters leak causing my basement to leak as well. I asked that they come back and fix it. He finally called me back and gave me the riot act for taking so long to pay. I told him that I hesitated for all the above reasons , especially for not cleaning up and for smashing a drainage pipe.He has not returned my calls. So I never got a written estimate, never gave him an official OK to start and never got a receipt. Why I paid him - well - I am a good person. What a con. Do not use this service. I have a few friends who have had the same experience. Stay away. Have not heard one friend speak positive. Stay away.
