Dex is our go-to service for all things concerning trees. We've hired them twice now. Even in tight places, Dex can get it done! You could leave a porcelain china service on the ground next to a tree removal, and when Dex is done, the porcelain won't be moved, cracked, broken or disturbed in any way. That's how exact they are in removing just the tree, leaving all else undisturbed. Great attention is paid to clean up, too.The crew are kind and courteous and professional. We used this tree service to take down a large Sweetgum tree and bush a few months ago. Great job on the tree, average job on the bush. So, when we needed a tree trimmed and a few smaller, decorative (landscaping) trees and bushes removed, we called them again. I was out of town and a family member was present on the day they arrived. They did a decent job of removing the 3 smaller trees but a terrible job on trimming back two bushes. But the biggest transgression was when they told the family member that a large, 40 year old oak in the back yard which I had planted new, was dead and needed to be removed. It was late fall so leaves were not present to indicate a dead tree. My thought is that the little jobs weren't paying enough so they decided to "find" something to make more money. They cut down this oak, which was NOT dead, and charged a $2500 to do so! A check was given to them on the spot by the family member or I'd have refused. Takeaway? Be present when someone is working and get a second opinion (if needed) on whether a tree is dead or dying. I feel like we got played. Caveat Emptor. Below are 2 bushes they "trimmed." And don't get me started on why they didn't tell a family member that the oak pieces would make good firewood or could even be sold for furniture or wood working! read more

This was an excellent experience! I had contacted them for an estimate to take down a tree that had a limb broken off due to storm damage. The man who came out was very friendly and said if I decided to go with them, they would be in my city working the next day. I accepted their bid (very reasonable) and they came the next day and took the tree down. They were quick, neat, and all were nice and friendly. And this all happened on one of the hottest days of the summer! They are my new go-to company. read more

I called Dex's on a Thursday afternoon after a terrible experience with another company. Zach came out the next day and left us a quote. They Came out today, Tuesday, and finished the job that the other team couldn't commit to finishing. I came home after work to a job well done. They cleaned up my yard much better than I expected. My neighbors are all impressed with the quick and efficient way that the guys worked. My advice to anyone needing tree removal: Don't go with your lowest bid. Go with a company that has good reviews all over the internet (Facebook, Yelp, etc...). Go with Dex's. The first company that we were working with showed up and did half the job, if that. They said they'd be out the following day, but didn't show up or call. When we reached out to them, they promised it would be done the NEXT day. Again no call, no show. This went on for about a week before we finally told them that we didn't want to do business with them. We had the opposite experience with Dex's. Zach made a commitment to us at the time we made the deal, then sent a message the day prior to confirm that his crew would be there as planned. And they DID! Great customer service! read more

I had a 120yr old hackberry tree split in my back yard hours before a storm system that spawned tornados nearby, one of which leveled an amazon facility. We got "quotes" from several services, but Dex's was by far the fastest and most professional to reply. In the end, they were booked up for a month by the time I went to schedule, but it became apparent a week into that month the tree was NOT going to wait that long before it came down, most probably on my, or my neighbors house. I called Zach on Monday, explained the situation, and he made it a point to not only rearrange some jobs to get me in that week "Thursday or Friday", but when I called Wednesday to make certain, he informed me they were mostly done already. Due to the unstable nature and size of the tree, they worked me in early, got the job done faster than expected, got the whole site cleaned up and it was by far the best experience I've had in 20 years with different services. If you're after cheap, keep looking. If you're after professional, reliable and quality, this is your place. I have another 2 trees next to my house in the back and I won't be calling anyone but Dex's in the future. Worth every single penny. read more

Had 5 quotes from different services to have a large tree dropped and hauled off. Prices ranged from 800-1800. Dex was the 1800. A friend told me that sometimes contractors will quote high if they are already swamped with work and don't want you to call them. Maybe that's the case here but why not just be honest and tell me they are booked up for a while? That I can respect. So either they are overpriced or dishonest... you choose. read more

We were faced with a semi-emergent tree situation over Memorial day... after being told by our general contractor that it could take up to 4 days to find a tree service, we reached out to Dex's and they assisted with a team of 7-8 folks at 7:30am that next morning. They hit the ground running merely 14 hours after a huge limb had fallen on our home. Personally, I feel like it's a challenge to find a tree service. We've called multiple over the past few weeks for some general clean up... and honestly, they all were quoting way over what we believe our job to cost. These guys really helped us out and didn't take advantage of the stressful situation. Absolutely professional and much faster than even they had anticipated.
