This review is long long overdue. My son started attending Busy Little Bee at 28 months old, the summer after Covid began and we lost our nanny. This was his first daycare experience, and Shusha took him in and treated him as her own. His language and social skills blossomed right away. He had always been a very picky eater, but he loved Ms Mariam's cooking, and was always trying new and unexpected foods for the first time. Shusha was so loving and even went out of her way to personally help feed him on the days he struggled. We have since moved, and our son is now five years old. We have since attended three other wonderful schools with our two boys, but none of them compare to Shusha's school. For a nervous mom sending her son to school for the first time, it felt as if we were sending him to a warm, loving relative's home to play for the day. We still see the amazing activities she plans on social media, and think fondly of our son's time there. Previously we had a close family friend watching my son for a year, so it was a nerve wracking decision to put him in someone else's care for the first time, but Shusha and her caring staff made it so easy!!! Our daughter had a wonderful experience at Busy Little Bee. The family that runs the center are so kind and loving, and they provided a lot of enrichment activities that our daughter loved. We felt very safe sending our daughter during COVID after seeing how clean the facilities were kept and the precautions they took to wear masks, etc. They provide healthy home cooked meals, and were very understanding and careful about our daughter's food sensitivities. My FAVORITE part about Busy Little Bee is that they would send daily photos and videos to the parents so that you see what the kids are up to. It was great to know that they were having fun, and it also gave me something to talk to my 3 year old about when I picked her up. I dont know where to begin my review, my daughter started school when she was 2 years 10 months, we had a Full Time nanny from the time she was 8 weeks old, so my husband and I were really tensed on which school to pick. I must have toured at least 15 schools before I picked Busy Little Bee and I so glad to have picked this school. My daughter started the school in her day care facility with her right arm fractured at that time, Susha and Olga took so much good care.My kid adjusted so very well in preschool with Amy and Susha. The school is so very clean, they also give freshly cooked meal on daily basis. Shusha and her team are the most caring, loving, and hard working teachers I've ever met. They make sure each child is taken care of to the highest standards and cultivate the children's curiosity and love for learning. I have so many amazing things to say about Busy Little Bee that if I wrote them all out, Yelp would tell me I exceeded my character limit! So instead of a dissertation-long review... Here are some bullet points as to why I loved using Busy Little Bee for my baby boy: - Susha (the owner) is such a sweet heart! She was very accommodating, communicative and she sent me videos and photos of my phone playing and having a blast on the regular. - The daycare itself was always so clean and smelled nice! - My baby boy always came home smelling and looking like he just took a bath! - Whenever I dropped off my son, he was always so so so excited to go and when I would pick him up, he would be upset that he had to leave! - The outdoor facilities are AMAZING!!! And I love that during warmer months, "water play" is a thing as my son ADORES the water. - I was insanely impressed with the things my almost 2 year old learned!! He learned all of his body parts, the ABCs, a lot of words (that he never knew before going) and he puts my husband and I to shame with his dance moves! - All meals are included - 7:30 to 5:30 hours = AMAZING for those who work long days - I felt insanely safe and comfortable leaving my son in the care of Busy Little Bee - There is Structured routine, so all the kids eat and take naps at the same time daily (oh and if you're scared that your child won't be able to sleep during nap time because of the other kids, Busy Little Bee has the magic touch because my son actually napped there!!) - The price per month was very affordable compared to other daycares I had toured/used in the past. - I just knew my son was in the best hands at Busy Little Bee, which took a lot of worrying weight off my shoulders It's pretty obvious that I recommend Busy Little Bee! It is a family run business that truly cares and delivers a high quality of care from home cooked healthy meals, to music, logic and dance classes, to helping teach social skills!!! Wow. I really miss Busy Little Bee. The owner Shusha is the most kindest, caring person and loves children. The moment I walked into her daycare I knew it was for us. Thank you Shushanik and her team of teachers for caring for our little guy after his other daycare closed and after we kept him home for a year due to Covid. When we were ready to put him back into daycare, she took him in and cared for him, helped to potty train him, and prepared him for graduation to the next level after he turned 3. We have since moved to Orange County and we had to say our goodbyes, but we thank Shushanik, the other teachers, and her mom for taking care of our little guy and cooking delicious and healthy meals for him while he was in their care. My son started attending Busy Little Bee when he was 19 months and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with Shusha, Talin, and Anna. They have created such a warm, welcoming, and comfortable environment for the kids to grow and thrive in. My son enjoys music class, gymnastics, indoor lessons around the table, outdoor fun time with bubbles, and celebrating birthdays with his classmates and friends. As parents, we love seeing the text message pictures and videos capturing the fun he's having at daycare. We relish not stressing daily about his meals and snacks, because they provide 3 meals/day- we are even impressed with the foods he's willing to try at daycare, that he would never touch at home. This preschool is amazing! I toured many at home preschools/daycares and Busy Little Bee was the cleanest by far. I loved that fact the Shusha and her teachers always greeted the children (and parents) with big smiles and sometimes warm hugs. They are very nurturing at Busy Little Bee, and that's what I want in a preschool, my son loved being there, I knew he was in good hands and I would get photos text to me everyday. I have edited my review as Shusha continues to take incredible lengths to stop me from sharing my concerns with this facility. She has always been so charming & lovely, I was shocked when this other side came out. To avoid further issues & be able to move on, I've slightly edited my original post. Hope it helps. -------------------- I really hated doing this negative review, but I feel responsible for letting other parents know about what I learned about this daycare. It truly breaks my heart because my daughter went here for almost two years until a month ago. I was completely happy there until I found out about since very questionable things. Shusha left the country with her mom (the owner of the Otsego daycare) for several weeks without informing parents in December and January. We don't have any phone number for any other staff person at all. If there had been an emergency, like an earthquake, we would have had no way to reach anyone. I called Shusha twice and texted her twice over the course of several days while she was gone (but I don't know she was gone) and there was no response. When she returned she said she responded to everyone & it shouldn't be a problem she was gone, and she wouldn't accept that I had attempted to reach her many times. I pushed to get someone else's number for a backup, which she gave me - a cell phone number for a teacher who works at the other site, not the teachers who were at the site with my daughter. When I asked other parents if she gave them this information, they said she hadn't, and they also didn't know she had been out of the country. While she was gone, they kept the kids inside for 3 days in a row without any time to go outside, and the house inside is fairly small. Again, when I talked to Shusha about this, she said it was "no big deal" to stay inside. They also didn't tell us they were going to, I just found out because my daughter told me, and I followed up with the teacher. Lastly, they didn't follow my daughter's food restrictions several times, which caused diahrrea and other issues. And every day she would come home and eat an enormous amount of food, snacks and a huge dinner after daycare. After 3 weeks of being out of this daycare, my daughter has gained significant weight, about 3 pounds. She had been getting skinnier & skinnier and it's a relief to see her get back to normal, now that we pack everything for her. My daughter was always happy to be there, but again she had been there since she was so small for 5 days a week all day, and just doesn't know what is "normal" or "okay" when she so intrinsically trusts these adults. When confronted with unsafe practices, like the ones I name here and others I am not discussing here, you should have enough care about children to think about how to do better. Instead, Shusha called in parents to say loads of untruthful, horrible things about me after I left the daycare. Then she posted the same vulgar, horrible things here in Yelp in response to this review before she took it down. She also had Marine, the teacher, and another friend post the same awful things, which were reported and I believe taken down by Yelp but not sure. If that is your response, ferociously attacking people who give a reasonable & truthful critique, instead of honestly engaging on how to improve your facility, that speaks to the kind of character you have. That is NOT someone with the character to be caring for children. I hope this helps any one to please try and go somewhere else. Better safe than sorry. read more

Busy Little Bee is a one of a kind place. I had looked at so many daycares that did not meet my expectation. I had been losing hope in finding a place where I felt comfortable leaving my daughter until I got to Busy Little Bee. Shusha and her staff are wonderful! They truly care and love your child as if they were their own. A few of the key points I love this place and would recommend highly: 1. What an amazing little place for kids! Busy little Bee is such a loving and fun environment. It was my daughter's very first time going to any kind of school or day care and Shusha made sure to make her feel welcome. Enrolling our daughter to Busy Little Bee was one of our best decisions yet. As Europeans, we were in pursuit of many heavy demands to consider for our child's day care. Busy Little Bee provided all our requirements and more! We've found here a second family and home, a familiar environment with daily cooked fresh organic meals, a very clean indoor and outdoor space, a well systematized program, numerous activities included in the monthly price (plus great surprises on year's round holidays) and above all, safety. As for our daughter, she immediately connected to all her teachers and felt extremely happy at her school. She already misses Mariam, who would fix her hair after each nap in one single ponytail as she liked and loved her as her own granddaughter, Amy, a princess look-alike who kept them busy with all kind of fun and learning activities, Hannah, whom she gave a hard time during her adjustment period, her music teacher with so many different theme accessories that she would bring each Wednesday like clockwork and her dance teachers. Above all, she will miss our dear Shusha, who invested so much into her business and regarded all children as her own at such a degree that we felt as part of a big family. With excellent communication skills, Shusha gave us on a regular basis information about our daughter's schedule, which we highly appreciated. Our baby goes to school here and we are thrilled with Busy little Bee .After looking at just about every daycare in the city, we landed on BLB because after meeting the teachers, we couldn't imagine anyone we would rather entrust our child to. Everyone has tons of experience with children, they are so kind and truly enjoyable to see at the start and finish of the day. The school is brand new so it's incredibly clean and has this comfortable, home-like vibe that feels so far from some of the sterile daycares we toured. The school works with each individual child's schedule instead of forcing all the babies to be on the same one...which is comforting to us, as we have always fed on demand and she has always had an erratic sleep schedule. It's nice to know that even in the smallest ways, each baby is encouraged to be an individual.When I first went back to work, everyone was concerned about how I was coping, being away from her and I have to be honest, I was completely at ease...solely thanks to BlB. I rarely review on Yelp but my experience at Busy Little Bee has been overwhelmingly positive so I wanted to share my review. Since my first visit to this daycare, I knew I had found the right place my little one. Shusha is very sweet and pleasant, she happily answered all the questions I had. The daycare is always spotless clean and organized. My daughter has been attending this daycare for 5 months (she was 15 months when she started). I can tell that she loves and trusts Shusha and Talin, and that gives me a great peace of mind. Shusha and Talin are very loving, caring reliable and trustworthy. They have many great activities and classes for the kids throughout the week. My daughter's favorite is music class. I love getting the videos/pictures and seeing how much fun she is having. They have many different toys and books and a wonderful backyard. We love it when we arrive in the afternoon and find our daughter playing/running around with the other kids in the backyard. They also provide healthy home cooked meals, which my daughter loves too! They have also started helping us with potty training. When we pick her up, we greatly appreciate the report of the day, they always share with us highlight of the day. In these short period of time, I see how much my daughter is learning and how well she gets along with other kids. Not only my daughter, but all the kids seem so happy at this daycare. After trying various child care options, we were lucky enough to find the wonderful Busy Little Bee! Everyone we interacted with, especially our sons lead 'teacher' Ms. Olga and the head of the school Ms. Shusha, were wonderful and caring individuals. We were so happy with the degree of attention that was given to our son. We received pictures regularly showing what was happening during the day and daily updates at pick up time including how much he ate, slept, etc. Our son was so happy to go to school each day and talked all the time about his teachers and friends. She started with Busy Little Bee when she was just four months old (she's 15 months old now). I was so nervous to send her to daycare because of COVID, but when I visited this daycare I remember thinking that it was so clean I could eat off of the floor! Additionally, Shusha didn't have a ton of babies or toddlers and she assured me that My daughter would have a person that was fully dedicated to caring for her (of course, the daycare quickly filled up once vaccinations became more available). The first teacher she had quickly fell in love with her and My baby was obviously thriving when she was there. She would come home in the evenings happy and sometimes tired from all of the activities! She was included in the activities that the older kids were doing (she was a watcher) and before we knew it, my daughter was saying "Dada", standing up on her own, and they even taught her how to walk! We loved getting photos and videos from them from time to time and I was SO saddened when we had to remove my daughter from busy little bee (we purchased a home in south LA, otherwise she would've attended this daycare until she was ready to go to kindergarten). Anyway, Busy Little Bee set the bar high for us, and we would highly recommend this daycare to anyone who is looking for a trusted care team for their child. read more

When I started searching a daycare for my 2-year-old daughter I was so worried to leave her for the first time but as soon as I met Shusha and saw the premises of the daycare I knew Eva will be greatly cared there. The cleanest space I have ever seen and it smells like at home there with fresh home made organic food and great variety of snacks and seasonal fruits. She even ate the veggies and meals she has never eaten at home. Staying almost 2 years with Little Busy Bee my daughter's behavior improved significantly: she started to share toys, acquired table manners, became more accurate and organized and was easily potty trained within a week. Shusha and her team are so attentive and sweet, and I'm very impressed by the entire operation. My babies, 2.5yo and 9 months, were always met with warmth and big hugs from Shusha, Angie or Naira and they always did their best to distract my toddler by playing with him or offering him treats. I was always confident they were well taken care and being given the cuddles and attention they needed. Shusha keeps her place totally spotless. I don't know how she does it with so many kids! (I wish I could keep my house this clean haha.) She also has a variety of unisex toys, inside and outside. The videos and photos were always a big comfort for us, especially the videos of music class. I knew the kids were always entertained and engaged with. Another major plus was the food - everything is provided and home cooked. My boy was rarely ever hungry when we got home because he was so well fed. The only reason we left for another day care was the hours (I commute from Hollywood and needed a place that closed after 5:30pm), but I was very happy with Shusha and everyone else. We were extremely happy with Busy Little Bee for our son. He began when he was 12 months old and thrived in the care of Shusha and the other ladies. He grew very attached to the ladies and felt very loved. We felt Busy Little Bee offered a safe and clean environment which we were always 100% comfortable leaving our son in. Shusha and the staff also somehow managed to keep our son and his clothes very clean, even throughout meals and playtime. We would highly recommend Busy Little Bee--especially for children just starting daycare. The best day care I could have imagined for my daughter. Susha is amazing. She made our transition very comfortable by sending pictures and videos first few days. My daughters vocabulary improved like no other. She started speaking in whole sentences at around 2.5 yrs and loved her dancing singing class We are about to complete 1yr and I hope for many more years until my daughter goes to elementary. We had our daughter at busy little bee for over a year (1-2 yo) and had a wonderful experience. Shusha and all of the ladies are very sweet and attentive and you can tell love their work and these kids. My daughter bonded particularly with Naira who was just amazing with her. It's seems like magic how clean and organized everything is, and the kids learn to clean up (my dtr now frequently sings "everybody cleans up"), which is great. The communication is frequent and easy and we had zero concerns or issues our entire time. I was always been completely at ease leaving our daughter here, knowing she was loved and well looked after.
