I remembered that a friend of mine at EMU, used to wash their clothes at Laundry Land since they lived off-campus. So I loaded up the my clothes baskets, grabbed the change jar, and tossed everything into my car. Heading down Michigan Avenue was a breeze at 1:00 a.m., but at this time of night, one has to be very careful in this part of Ypsilanti. This section of town has more than its fair share of drug dealers, prostitutes, and robbers. Thankfully, when I arrived there were several people inside making use of the facilities, so I knew I wouldn't have to wash alone. Thankfully, everything worked out just fine. I was able to wash my clothes, especially my dress shirts for the interview coming up in several hours. Sadly, someone else got the job I wanted, but using a laundry facility is an experience one will never forget in the wee hours of the morning.
