this is the old Houdini Cleaners, it has been bought and new management in 2016. I found it to be super clean and all of the machines working well. I especially like the older drum washers along the wall for $4.00 they take a larger load and wash really well the cycle and extractions run 30 minutes - really good value. This laundromat serves some of the poorer residents in the eastern Ypsilanti Area so there is a mix of customers and lots of kids at times but everyone has been nice. The downside is the liquor store directly behind the laundromat. Or I guess it could be an upside if you need a cold beer on a summer day! :) At any rate new owners are doing a good job here and I hope they make a success of it. read more

When my washer died, Laundry Land was a god-sent. I was in my junior year in college, and I had job interview for a full-time summer job the next day. Sadly, the night before while washing a load clothes my washing machine suffered a major breakdown. I remembered that a friend of mine at EMU, used to wash their clothes at Laundry Land since they lived off-campus. So I loaded up the my clothes baskets, grabbed the change jar, and tossed everything into my car. Heading down Michigan Avenue was a breeze at 1:00 a.m., but at this time of night, one has to be very careful in this part of Ypsilanti. This section of town has more than its fair share of drug dealers, prostitutes, and robbers. Thankfully, when I arrived there were several people inside making use of the facilities, so I knew I wouldn't have to wash alone. Thankfully, everything worked out just fine. I was able to wash my clothes, especially my dress shirts for the interview coming up in several hours. Sadly, someone else got the job I wanted, but using a laundry facility is an experience one will never forget in the wee hours of the morning. read more

I had a terible experience tonight, the attendant asked liked I was bothering her when I asked questions. She was on the phone shouting almost the entire time. I come to laundry land in Ypsilanti almost twice a week. And the over a year that I've been coming here, the service and the and the owner have always been on hand provide help when I needed it. Just today I needed assistance with one of the machines and the owner was right there to help, refund my quarters and give me a free wash. This is the type of place but when you go there, the owner and employees are on the floor to help. I strongly recommend this laundromat as one of, or if not the, best in Ypsilanti Ann Arbor area. If the machine in your apartment building is broke, are you want to get out of your house do laundry, this is the place to go. Great prices, great service! read more

I was just there. Washers wash just fine, but don't use their dryers. They get warm not hot. I spent $2 to dry 2 loads and they didnt get dry. Chinese man comes over and says the drum is hot. Wrong! Drum is luke warm. Please dont waste your money. Go elsewhere. I'm very dissatisfied with the lack of customer service, equipment, and the smell in the building smells like mold\mildew. Counter was dusty where register is for the dry cleaning side. Women's bathroom has a great big hole under the sink. Soft drink dispenser had only caffeine free diet coke avail. The candy dispensers wouldnt hardly work. I wished i could give this place 0 stars, but that's not an option. read more

The owner was being very rude and speaking in an inappropriate tone toward a customer, an elderly woman, who was having issues with one of the machines. The owner then proceeded to literally yell at one of his employees who was trying to help another customer at the front counter. After experiencing this, I will be driving an extra 10 minutes to go to another laundry mat. read more

I am one of those people whom has a sensitive sniffer. This laundry mat not only is clean, if you accidently drop clean cloths on floor you can pick them up and continue with your laundry routine, but this laundry mat doesn't smell like some others that have the smells that will make your nose wrinkle. I come here faithfully every week. Its very clean and the employees are all nice. The owner helps me weekly because i spend 60 weekly he helps with just about the whole process. Hes kind n switches laundry when needed to keep washers open. Theres plenty of washers n dryers n he will even help u to ur car when u need help. Theres no drama or trouble there. My children and i feel safe and he has all kinds of name brand products n bags for laundry. Bathrooms are clean and locked for customers. Ive been coming here for about a year and never had trouble and always felt comfortable. Theres wifi n Netflix n ac n heat. I would recommend people with children to come here on laundry day because the employees turn on cartoons for them to help you while u do laundry there is games n little machines so kids can buy stuff. The place has completely changed from years ago its a great place n i only come here n recommend you to do so too. read more
