Sliders with thyme and salt with bacon, American cheese, and pickles.

A great food truck that caters to parties and events which is how I was introduced. Delicious sliders that had amazing flavor and seasonings. I cannot wait to try them again!

Butcher salt is incredible. I stand by their slider and fries as the best slider and fries of all of Minneapolis. I have never been left disappointed. They are also the best and kindest people I'm pretty sure they know my wife and I by now because we stalk them and follow them all over Minneapolis so we can get our fix whenever possible.

I like the greasy spoon tasty options, like the hashbrowns, with the sliders. They have a friendly crew and their food is done well, even if they are a bit on the pricier side for being a food truck. Good people and good food overall.

Food truck done well. Food trucks in Minneapolis in the summer are a wonderful sight to be seen. Options line the streets and let you get outside to enjoy the sunshine. Walking down from the corner of 7th and Marquette, I was greeted by an extremely friendly host who asked what I wanted and processed my order quickly and efficiently. Although orders are taken using a hand ticket system, they do take credit cards using square and an ipad that allows them to email or text your receipt. The menu is on butcher paper on the side of the truck and changes often. I got the sliders, which were wonderfully juice. The beef had a hint of rosemary inside. I also got the top brown, which are hash browns topped with bacon and pepper jack. Hash browns are ridiculously underrated and it is nice to see them as a regular part of a lunch menu. Drinks are reasonably priced at $1 although sandwiches are a little on the expensive side. Service was on the slow side so make sure you have enough time if you decide to stop by.

Does a late breakfast sounds better than an early lunch? Get your hash browns here.

Sometimes I MISS breakfast... meaning that I LONG FOR and YEARN for breakfast food... not that I'm skipping meals. At these times, Butcher Salt is the perfect food truck. $5.50 Salted Browns (hasbrowns with salt, bacon, rosemary and topped with pepperjack cheese) really hit the spot at these times. The potatoes are browned, as promised, but are delivered more tender than crispy. Rosemary and pepperjack provide the personality. The flavor and crunch of bacon are distant. Butcher Salt also offers "topped hashbrowns" for $3 more. With that, you get onions, peppers, tomatoes and an easy-over egg. I typically choose to invest the $3 elsewhere, such as their "dog of the day" for $5.50 or so. The dogs are 'snappy' and include different toppings on different days. I try to avoid combinations with too much saute going on because it tends to make the lightly-grilled bun soggy. Fabulously friendly staff. short wait.

Absolute favorite Food Truck. I follow it to different festivals. Some of the best Burger sliders I've ever had. The Hash is unbelievable. And their quesadilla is an underrated gem.

Had them at our event, super great to work with. Food was awesome, even had vegetarian options. Definitely would book with them again.

We came here for restaurant week and had a very good experience!…read more Our server was great. Very personable and present without being overwhelming. The ambiance was very nice too. The place was very busy and had a good energy about it. I had the Jambalaya, which had chicken, sausage, and shrimp. It was pretty good and had a nice spicy kick. A good portion as well. Girlfriend had the shrimp etouffee with grits. It was nicely blackened and on a big bed of grits. Also spicy. Friend had the original lobster roll. He was surprised it came on Texas toast and not a roll. But he really enjoyed it. The dessert was a sinlme but delicious Cookit with ice cream. I recommend for restaurant week. And if you like seafood in the form of things like the lobster roll or shrimp etouffee that you don't get other places. I thought the jambalaya was fine but unremarkable. Not pictured here was the lobster mac and cheese. Which was only a small appetizer and I thought underwhelming (also, I don't like corn).

Smack Shack knows seafood, and the Seafood Paella proves it…read more The Seafood Paella arrives packed with perfectly cooked shrimp, clams, mussels, smoky sausage, and saffron rice that's loaded with flavor. Every bite brings something different, and the fresh seafood really shines without being overshadowed by the seasoning. The portion is generous enough to share, but you probably won't want to. The atmosphere is lively, the seafood tastes fresh, and the kitchen clearly pays attention to presentation as much as flavor. If you're looking for one of the Twin Cities' best seafood dishes, this one belongs on your must-order list. Fresh, colorful, and packed with flavor--Smack Shack delivers every time.

I also appreciate that their prices are exactly as written--if it says $5, it comes out exactly $5. As an added bonus, the prices are reasonable compared to other similar ice cream/fast food places in the area. The fries were fresh and crispy, and the dream smash burger was incredible (albeit a little hard to eat due to its floppiness). The ice cream was decent; they didn't skip on the portion sizes.

Really good burgers at a decent price!…read more The burgers were incredibly tender. $12 for a basket with fries for a single is a great deal and you add a patty for $3. The meat skirt was great on them. I also added bacon which was also incredibly tender. The cheese was really creamy and gooey too. I thought the patties could have used a touch more seasoning, but a minimal comment. They were meaty and delicious. The fries were battered fries, which I really like. And we're scaldingly hot out of the frier. They were really good. There is extremely limited inside seating...basically just a rail on the window. So in bad weather don't count on a spot inside. Plenty of benches outside and a patio though as long as the weather is good. The ice cream is also very good and competitively priced at $5 for a single scoop. Service is like a fast casual restaurant. They take your order and you pay and give your name and they bring it out to you.
