Later in the evening, my gf said the fridge smelled funny. By morning, the fridge smelled really bad of spoiled meat. I placed it in a plastic bag and attempted to return after leaving work early on Wednesday. (I had a doctor appointment Tuesday afternoon an hour away and couldn't complete the return.) The customer support person was very courteous and said she needed a manager and called for the woman in the office behind her. She, too, was courteous but paused to say she wanted to get approval from the meat department because it was over $20. Note she made a face when she opened the bag regarding the smell. (Purchase price $20.48). A woman and a man can up, and both smelled the product. Then the woman proceeded to tell me she would not complete the return because I didn't call the store the day I purchased it. Then, she went on a second defensive path to avoid a return. This involved telling me that the product smelled fine and was fine when I purchased it. Really??? Shortly thereafter, she identified herself as an owner. After a few minutes she offered a refund but only via store credit. I have never had an issue with buying any products in this store. However, I will NEVER shop at this store again. This is NOT how you treat your customers if you want to stay in business.

My late father in law was a store owner back in the 50s, 60s & early 70s and cut all his own meat. He worked at Bliss's as a meat cutter in the early 90s. I remember him talking about how great the quality of meat Bliss's had. So, now we drive there to get all of our meat each week! It is still good quality, fresh & affordable!

Joann gave us cooking tips on the proper preparation for a cream sauce using the mushrooms. The items in the store are all from smaller artisanal Italian farms. I found most of the prices to be relatively reasonable considering they're all imported from Italy. They offer a variety of things that would be perfect for making a gift basket like pasta, canned tomatoes (San Marzano - the best!), spreads, and adorable serving platters. You'll find frozen clams for your next pasta dish or fresh deli meats and delicious buffalo mozzarella (the most delicious cheese in the world) for a homemade charcuterie plate.
