So far I've had several soup. One, I think, was asparagus cheese? Delicious! Reuben was great, popo was great. Caesar salad needed more dressing but they were happy to give it to me. I've lived in Blair almost 4 years and only in the last several months have given this place a go. It was dumb to wait this long! All my orders have been carry out and mostly in the morning. I get a breakfast burrito (egg, potato, bacon, cheese) and take it to work. It's always hot and the food is very tasty. I know they use a microwave to get it steaming but it doesn't really matter with a breakfast burrito. Nice and big and about $6.40 I ordered a French Dip with Au Jus for lunch one time and it was the bomb! Loaded with beef and the Au Jus had flavor. Not like some of these places who have weak tasting beef broth and water. Interesting decor and at my age, I recognize a bunch of the displayed record albums as ones I owned in my youth. Pretty cool. Parking is reasonable but small. Still shouldn't be a problem. They do add a surcharge for using a card and I do not like when businesses pass on fees to the consumer for taking cards. It's just wrong. That's the sole reason I give Butch's 4 stars instead of 5. Great place to go. Give it a shot. But bring cash. read more

We hadn't been here for quite a while. Ordered their daily special. We received the sandwich fairly quickly and it was hot. Great flavor and the price was reasonable as it included a bag of chips and a drink. We will visit again. The only problem was that we didn't know their hours, so got there about a half hour before they close at 2:00. Wish they were open longer. read more

I love a local food institution and that's Butch's. We ate here 3 times during our work trip to the area. They have great sandwiches made to order. Each day they run specials. One day we had roast beef sliders, another day a roast beef sandwich, and the next day the French dip. The roast beef is very good. It is tender. The bread for the sandwiches is also good, with the highlight being the hoagie roll for the French dip. The BBQ sauce for the roast beef is tangy and delicious. Everything is reasonably priced. This is a great place to see the locals and get a real sense of the Blair community. read more

Nice locally owned gem. Fresh ingredients, friendly staff. Short wait for food, which was reasonably priced. I got the turkey, ham, & Swiss which came with lettuce, tomato, onion, and vinegar. My husband got the roast beef and mushroom warmed sub, which came with the same toppings. Both were LG...definitely could've been satisfied with a regular in hindsight, the large was actually too much for me to eat! We have no complaints! Will return next time we are in Blair! read more

2nd generation, family owned deli and ice cream shop that was really a good choice for dinner. Very casual, small town vibe. One of their most popular, chicken salad on marble bread, was really good. Ample serving size, too. Macaroni salad was mild, just the way I like it. My friend had the potato salad, and he said it was better than most. Dessert? Oh yeah! 30 flavors of ice cream for shakes and sundaes--you can't go wrong. We live in Omaha, and coming to Blair was a nice Sunday afternoon drive. And now we have an eatery worth coming back to. I think next time I'll try one of their stone-baked pizzas. read more

I stopped in and ordered a chicken salad sandwich on a Saturday morning. I had never ordered that one before and was wondering if it would be a good sandwich. I had nothing to worry about. From the marbled bread to the amount of mayo in the chicken salad, it was excellent. I highly suggest it, well worth the $7 and change. It comes with lettuce and tomato and I will definitely order it again. Thank you SO much for an excellent sandwich. read more

Maybe when you say Deli my expectations are a little high. I am expecting display cases with fresh meat ready to be sliced for my enjoying. However, that was not what I received from Butch's. That was okay, I wasn't upset by that at all, as this is a small town. What I was upset by was the lady that was preparing my sandwich did not have on gloves in prime FLU season. I realized it towards the end and I brought it to her attention. She said that she washed her hands before, which I did witness, But who's to say that she washed her hands at the correct temp for the right amount of time? I just wasn't happy about it, but since she was almost done I just prayed over it and went for it. One good thing is that the guys that were preparing a beautiful fruit and cheese tray were wearing gloves, however, one of them kept taking bites off the cut pieces of pineapple before he tossed them...I understand not wasting anything but that's a no no in food service. So back to this sandwich, I ordered the Ruben and she said that it is a hot sandwich. Again, when you say hot I am expecting griddled on a flat top or press. Instead it was placed in a microwave for a few seconds and not to mention my pasteurized swiss cheese product which definitely wasn't real swiss wasn't thoroughly melted. For 7 bucks for the sandwich only, I expected far more. I would've been better off going down the street to subway. Butch's deli definitely didn't make the mark for me. read more

Have heard from several people the chicken salad is awesome. The 2 times I went in, they were out. Really? It is supposed to be a signature item and they have none! First time I got the Italian sandwich and it was ok, weird to have American cheese on an Italian sandwich. Second time I left without ordering. Not sure I would make the trip a 3rd time. read more
