We went back for more brunch at A Catered Affair, and it was just as good as the last time! Food was super fresh and you could tell it was made from scratch. I would skip the hash brown casserole next time, but everything else was superb. The fries are coated and not gluten free, but they did have a gluten free bread that I was able to use with my sandwich. The waitress was very attentive and it looks like they added more tables since the last time I went. It still is on the smaller side, but since the weather was nice, we were able to grab a seat outside and enjoy their beautiful patio. I recently learned that you can stop in here for a meal, and had to check it out. This is one of the best brunch spot I've been to in Omaha!! The price point is impressive for the quality of food you get. Every plate we got was absolutely delicious, incredibly fresh, and absolutely beautiful to look at too! The fries were the perfect texture, came out piping hot, and with four different ales to choose from! I had the salmon bagel, and the quality of the salmon was absolutely amazing, I couldn't believe it for $12! Sides were also very fresh, and complemented the meal perfectly. The bagel had the right amount of crispiness for the meal! I had a cinnamon roll for dessert, and this could've been the size of about three cinnamon rolls at most other places! I asked for extra frosting, and they gave me plenty. The taste was absolutely amazing-- I need to come back just for this! The staff was very friendly, we had a service dog, and a baby with us. Although they only had two high chairs with her both in use, as soon as one was free, we got to use it. The meal did take a little bit of time to come out, but I'm guessing it's a pretty small kitchen, since the café seating itself is a small area. We enjoyed the shaded patio, and it was crowded both inside and out during our visit! Overall, this is a highly underrated spot in Omaha in my opinion!! We came here for an order pickup, and needed to stay while they finished it. While we did, we looked around and each had a cocktail. Charming shop! They serve meals, have coffee service for takeout or stay in, have a number of tasty-looking pastries, drinks (alcohol and not), and are very enjoyable while providing such. The seating is good, and in better weather there is an outdoor patio areas that faces west. Must come back and try that. Parking is easy in their lot. Will definitely return. read more

Incredible! I've been looking for a a good Caesar wrap in Omaha for years! My favorite one is in nyc & comes cold but their Crunchy Caesar Wrap may have that one beat! Delicious, high quality, great Caesar dressing, and I'll definitely be going out of my way for this. 2 years ago I made a spreadsheet with my friend to find the top Caesar salad in Omaha, and this may have the entire list beat. The house chips are basic but good, I was told to try them with the ranch which was solid too. The mini cheesecake bites are delicious too and not too heavy. Texture is more whipped than dense. I've also had the Cali chicken sandwich and the chipotle melt. Both also very good but I'd opt toward the Caesar. The one thing I'd skip here is the burger. Too saucy for me, there are other spots I prefer for burgers and this menu has been items to try. The service is super fast and very kind! I do wish they offered a one-dozen option instead of a two-dozen minimum, as it was more food than we needed. Started with Artichoke dip and bread that was Fabulous!! Then a round of Rubens, all with different sides we shared. The fries and chips were the real deal. The Rubens were hearty and perfectly layered with what must have been homemade sour kraut, fresh and crunchy. The meat, cheese and sauce were perfect. Bread complimented its layers deliciously. Drove north yesterday to give this place a try. And it didn't disappoint. Only negative is the room is ambient so it was loud as they were busy. Service is outstanding! So prompt, attentive and friendly. We ordered the chips with homemade salsa / short rib queso. Was pretty damn good ! I had the French dip and it was Delicious! Finally a place in Omaha understands you're supposed to dip the hoagie in the Au jus before building the sandwich. So flavorful! The house made chips perfect . I don't drive out West/North often, but I'd make a special trip just for this place. Walking in, you immediately notice the bright, well decorated space that feels like a little farmhouse cafe. We were greeted right away and directed to seat ourselves. The waitress came over quickly and took our drink orders while we pondered on the menu. I ended up with a hot vanilla latte and the breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. While I wished the bagel was a little chewier on the outside, it was really soft and flavorful. My friend got the same sandwich on the XL biscuit and she raved about the biscuit, reporting it as buttery and flakey. This restaurant has become one of my new favorites! The first time I had the "Ma Meatloaf". Ive never had a meatloaf quite like it. It was served open face on a piece of delicious bread, then a layer of grilled onions, topped with mashed potatoes and a light gravy. The second time ,I had the French Dip, and was, again possibly the best French Dip i have ever had. It was served with au jus and a very mild yet tasteful horseradish sauce. I opted for the truffle fries, because who can go wrong with that??? I left the 2nd tine with a delicious lemon bar. They serve breakfast all day, have a pretty extensive bakery. You can just walk in and get something for lunch/dinner from the deli case. Great service, excellent food, and spotless restrooms. . This was my first time at A Catered Affair, but it definitely won't be the last. The space is open and clean, but be aware that seating is limited. I debated between the croissant sandwich and the grilled cheese for a long time, but I ended up going with the grilled cheese with truffle fries on the side. The sandwich was AMAZING, with a combo of cheddar and gruyere cheese and fig jam. The truffle fries were fantastic, although I would have liked a little more parmesan on the top. My mom and grandma got the croissant sandwich and BLTA. Both looked fantastic and were HUGE portions. Also to note, the prices are VERY low for the amount of food you are receiving. If you haven't tried this gem of a cafe, you are missing out! My sister told me about this place after they catered a work event of hers, and I was game to try it out, and I am so glad that I did. First off, the interior is adorable. It had a bit of a farmhouse flair with a touch of boho and some modern elements thrown in. This isn't a big venue, but they did a great job with their seating. The walls are adorned with artwork that I believe you can purchase. They also have some curated goods for sale as well, that seem to switch with the seasons, etc. There is a big table up front with all kinds of goodies from mugs and hand towels to niche sauces and seasonings, etc. I had just as much fun looking at the items for sale as I did trying the menu. But I digress. The real star here is the food. I am a breakfast gal and could eat breakfast food for every meal. So, of course, I gravitated towards their breakfast menu, which they serve ALL DAY. Cha-ching! I ended up ordering the herbed baked eggs, which were served in an adorable mini cast iron skillet. (Innovative and fun food presentation really does it for me, and this did not disappoint!) The eggs were perfectly seasoned and baked and were delicious. That toasted sourdough bread, though? Out of this world. It was buttery toasted perfection! The perfect companion to the baked eggs. So now we have an adorable venue, amazing food and the best service. I wish I had caught our servers name, but she was an utter delight! She was friendly, helpful with the menu, and attentive without being overbearing. She definitely made our visit (and the 2nd one, which will come in another review). The location may be a bit out of the way, but it is well worth it. We were familiar with ACÁ, as they catered my oldest sons wedding dinner a year ago. What we were not familiar with was the delectable offerings that are available at their cafe just off of state street in northwest Omaha. The cafe is open for breakfast and lunch from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm which works great if you want to grab breakfast sweets or entrees on your way to work or meet friends for breakfast or lunch. The grab and go items in the display case were portioned large and looked scrumptious. Our server helped us make selections from the menu. I had the Baja pork belly tacos and my husband opted for the short rib sandwich with fries. The three tacos were full of meat and the slaw filler was a beautiful presentation. My husband's sandwich was so thick and filling that he took half of it home. The accompanying aoli sauce was a nice touch and added a punch of flavor. We could not resist the pastries and took home a blueberry cinnamon roll that we microwaved at home and devoured for a late evening snack. Beautiful artwork from local artists and the owner's son adorn the walls. The bright airy dining area opens to seasonal outdoor dining and also has displays with seasonings, sauces and other items for sale. Our food was delicious, our server (Kiana?) was excellent and we are already talking about what we will order on our next trip. Oh goodness, I just don't even know where to start. This place is really good. If you are looking for a chill environment then this is your place! I will start off by saying that if you are thinking "cafe" as in cheap, hole in the wall place, this is not for you. This is definitely more high end and they are pretty pricey for breakfast in my opinion. Nothing on their breakfast menu was that great to me. We tried their burrito and sandwich and both were just meh to us. HOWEVER, the real winner at the place are their bakery items and their appetizers. I know you are probably thinking, appetizers are the best thing? YES, YES they are! First, let's start with my ABSOLUTE fave, their Goat Cheese Balls.... OMG I am seriously dreaming about them right now. They are FANTASTIC. The dip under them with the crunchies is to die for. Next up their Firecracker Shrimp, it is soooo good. Generous portion and mouth watering. Next up, their Crab Rangoon Dip... it's good, you can tell they use real crab... but it's missing something. I'm not sure what, but there is something missing in it that doesn't give that wow factor. Now let's move on to their fry flight. They give you four sauces to dip which I love because I am a huge dip person, but they barely give you any fries. Fries are cheap friends, load em up! Finally, their cinnamon rolls. OMG they are truly out of this world amazing. I have tried them all but the Nutella and Espresso ones have my heart. Also, their service there is really good. I have been talking about wanting to go to the catered affair cafe for so long and I was finally able to with my mom and sisters the other morning, and let me just say... it did NOT disappoint, but exceeded my expectations. Having done wedding photography for so long, I always loved when couples would have catered affair, but was thrilled when it was offered as a cafe where I could go anytime!! Yippee! I digress.. let's dig Into the review. FOOD : First of all.. can we talk about the affordability?! How relieving!! Gosh, made it even more tempting to make a pit stop for brunch here weekly. I ordered the firecracker chicken because I couldn't ignore the raving reviews and popularity it has. You guys.. it was PHENOMENAL. I want the recipe STAT! I am drooling as I am typing, how embarrassing. The chicken was perfectly tender and baked to just the right amount of juiciness, I didn't get any gross chewy parts of the chicken and it tasted quality. It was even a bit charred which was the cherry on top. I got it on sourdough bread and MMM, was it good. Everything from the sauce to the chicken and bread was perfect, and worked together so beautifully. I sat in silence for 10 minutes while I gobbled it down because I wanted to soak in every bit of it... lol! I got the house chips as the side and they also were fabulous. What's better than house made chips!? Delicious. My sister got the herbed egg bake with sourdough and couldn't stop talking about how great it was -- actually most at the table tried it and loved it. My other sister got the stunning avocado toast and said it was lovely. Lastly, my mom got the southern egg sandwich and like us all - loved it. The only downer I will add is that my sister got a side of the butternut squash soup and just wasn't a huge fan. Nothing in particular but just overall wasn't in love with it. Lastly, my sister got a coffee and it was $3!! You guys!! I love how affordable it is! What a gem of a spot, hope it stays that way! ATMOSPHERE / STAFF : One of my favorite parts about CA is that it has a beautiful atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. Tall ceilings, giant windows & lots of natural light, beautiful local artists work hanging all over the walls - just stunning. It feels artful and inspiring simply to be there. The staff is so down to earth and helpful, they make you feel right at home. TIPS : if you go here, just go all in. I know you think you might want a soup, but you don't. Get a sandwich. Get something worth it!! You'll be much happier. Another tip go keep in mind is that a lot is cooked in soybean oil, but I believe they will cook in butter if requested. Lastly, get here at a good time if it's a popular hour like lunch or a weekend, because it fills up fast!! This is a poppin spot for good reason, first come first serve. You can also order simply at the counter and leave if you'd like as well. If I haven't convinced you yet, I don't know what else to say -- they give you cucumber water, not just regular water. I've been wanting to go try this place for so long, but it's so far out that I never found the time. Fortunately, I had my opportunity yesterday and I'm so sad I waited so long. It's truly just a beautiful, cute cafe/coffee shop in the middle of nowhere. The inside is inviting, spacious, airy, and beautifully designed. The staff were friendly and warm- reminded me of the greeting staff you'd find at a big non-denom church. I was just in awed the whole time by how cozy, quiet this place was and why it wasn't busier. The food was great too- especially the prices given the world we now live in. Most items were still in that $9-$12 range where you can't find an entree for less than $15 anywhere else. The food came out within a reasonable amount of time and the portions were more than enough. Plus, they serve Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner all day so you can get an omelet for dinner if you choose or a burger for breakfast. Overall, the tuna salad sandwich I got was OK. The tuna was lacking mayo (if it had any at all) and was more like a "Tuna Piccata" since it had capers- different twist, but welcome. My son got the burger and it came with a double patty and tons of fries- definitely a value by today's standards. Wish we would've had room to try some dessert or some of the baked goods in the window...but I guess that just means I'll have to come back. Two Suggestion to the Business: 1. Maybe add a kids menu if possible. 2. Advertise Wifi (if its free) because I could see this being a great spot to work from. read more

Great local restaurant & catering location. The food was great, wish I had more bagel on my salmon platter, they had so much yummy items on the platter I ran out of bread with it! My mom didn't really enjoy the broccoli cheese soup it was not soupy and not liquidy. Her sandwich was good, the yolk was runny and she would order it hard next time so it was less messy. We stopped by catered affair for a birthday brunch with a party of five. The service was outstanding! Our waitress went out of her way to accommodate anything we needed and was very friendly. As far as food, everyone at our table was impressed! I had the breakfast burrito and then other ordered meals were the Reuben and two breakfast sandwiches. We also munched on a cinnamon role and a piece of avocado toast. Everything was delicious! The Bloody Mary had the flavor to earn itself a spot on my Top 5 Omaha Bloody Mary list, despite not having a bunch of treats that came with it. I heard great reviews from the table about their Mimosas as well, made with fresh squeezed Orange Juice. My only complaint is the noise level but you can't help having a busy crowd. Wouldn't be my first choice just to catch up with a one-on-one conversation because of the noise. Will definitely recommend though moving forward! read more

We selected ACA as our wedding caterers, so it may seem a bit biased when my family, my husband, and I say the food was amazing. However, our guests also RAVED about the food so we know ACA nailed it! The vinaigrette they used on the salad still has my mouth watering, and the steak and salmon both were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Not to mention, the ACA team was working out of a relatively new kitchen and venue, and they were tasked with preparing, plating, and serving food to 300+ guests! Their execution was masterful and we are so grateful for their services. Also worth mentioning - my mom and I have eaten at their brick-and-mortar location a handful of times. Our waitress Shay was attentive and helpful and went beyond giving us an idea of each food we were ordering! They were very busy as it was a Friday night, but I thought the waiters could have been a little more "smiley." The dessert display featured so many different kinds of sweets. It was hard to choose. We got a lemon square and a pumpkin bar and divided them because we were so full from our meal! They were delicious. Handicap facilities were OK. Hello Kathy and Scott, My company, OCI Insurance, recently catered an event with A Catered Affair. We hired them because we knew the food would be delicious and beautifully presented, but the staff was beyond helpful. They were professional and courteous, they made sure all the food stations (we had 4 food stations around the office) were always stocked and tidy. The main person I spoke with during our event, I believe her name was Makayla, was so on the ball. She made sure to ask questions about small details we hadn't thought of. They packed up our leftovers carefully and were completely inobtrusive to our guests while doing it. Everyone commented about the meatballs and the bacon wrapped shrimp, also the spinach artichoke dip and the queso; all of it was outstanding Kathy and Scott, you have for pulled together not only top-notch food, but an awesome team as well!! read more
