Love Butch's and have it every year at the rib cook off. Their apple bbq sauce is heavenly and the sides are great

The best ribs I've had in a long time. The service was wonderful and the owner was friendly. The best barbecue all around. Would recommend

This is my second time visiting a Matcha Panda location, and I'm happy to say the quality is just…read moreas good as the Chestnut Street one. They definitely seem consistent, which I really appreciate. I came with a couple of friends on a Saturday afternoon, and wow... this place was packed. Even with the crowd, the staff stayed friendly and worked quickly, so we didn't have to wait too long for our drinks. One thing I still love is the seating. They have giant plushies sitting in the booths, so if you're by yourself, you're not just awkwardly staring at an empty seat across from you. Maybe I'm the only one who appreciates that, but I think it's a cute touch. The matcha here is the real deal. It's bright green, fragrant, and has that rich, earthy flavor with just enough natural bitterness that you know they're using quality matcha. A lot of places advertise matcha, but this one actually delivers. I ordered one of their matcha desserts with ice cream, and it was creamy, refreshing, and let the matcha flavor shine instead of burying it under sugar. My only complaint is that it was pretty warm inside. It was a hot summer day, and I honestly couldn't tell if the air conditioning was running or if it was just fans. Either way, it wasn't very cool inside. Thankfully I had ice cream, so it didn't bother me too much, but it's something to keep in mind if you're stopping by on a really hot day. Overall, another great visit. Friendly staff, consistently high-quality matcha, and a fun atmosphere. If you're a matcha lover, this is still one of my favorite spots in Chinatown.

I personally thought the matcha one was the best. The service was quick and informative. And I loved the little booths they had, it was adorable. That aside, I do think the drinks are mediocre. I ordered their most popular, Mango Matcha and their Hojicha Latte. Sadly I was disappointed, the mango matcha was VERY sweet, but the texture was creamy. I just couldn't get over the overpowering sweetness of the mango puree, but that's my personal preference. The mango flavor itself wasn't bad! Maybe half sweet would be the way to go, Im not sure if they do adjustments. If you love yuzu, I don't recommend their yuzu soft serve HOWEVER their matcha soft serve is pretty yummy Their Hojicha was watery...I really hoped it would be better. I don't recommend it. The restaurant is very minimalistic, modern with clean lines. In the past, I have had the shiitake mushroom buns, and the calamari salad which are delicious. The salad is packed with fried calamari, and the buns are light with a very nice sauce that accompanies it. I tend to go for the speciality rolls, and I've always enjoyed whatever I've ordered. This visit I had a small house salad with an amazing soy/ vinegar dressing and two specialty rolls. I ordered the yakuza roll and the dragon roll which were both amazing. They were both so good, that I couldn't decide which was my favorite. The yakuza roll highlighted soft shell crab and the dragon roll highlighted eel, avocado and a delectable sauce, topped off with fish eggs. They were both amazing and I would get them again. My food was so good, my date and I decided to come back later and get some takeout. He's vegan and got two rolls. One was a vegetable roll and the other a sweet potato roll, which he enjoyed. It was my birthday, so I decided to have another yakuza roll and the fried oysters. Honestly, my two selections didn't work well as takeout, and I wouldn't suggest getting them to go. I was a little disappointed, but it won't stop me from going there in the future. Overall, this was another great food experience and I'll definitely be back in the future.

I really liked the crunch stuff they put on top of the roll. Next we ended up sharing a Kara Kara Tonkotsu Ramen. We were intrigued by the idea of getting something very spicy. This ramen offered different spice levels. While we decided to go with the most spicy level, we were both disappointed we didn't find it that spicy. I wanted a burn your tongue experience . I do think the base was delicious. I really liked the pork as well. The pork was super juicy. The service was amazing. They waiting for us to finish eating even though they were closed.

We started off with the edamame which was pretty good, but lacked in flavor a bit, perhaps some salt, or if I had got the garlic version it would have been much tastier. The ramen was good, but less spicy than I hoped for even though I requested it very spicy. The pork was tender and flavorful which compensated for the broth tasting a bit watery. Overall it kind of tasted a bit like top ramen dressed up in a nice bowl. The service was decent, but nothing spectacular and at times I had to flag down the waitress in the empty restaurant. Overall I probably would choose a different ramen place next time, but it was ok for what it was, my expectations were never really that high for this place.

We have been met with perfection. I can leave this planet…read moreone day happy in knowing I have had The...Best. Royal's announcement on they starting to take reservations, a few months ago, immediately had me in stalker mode. I set a calendar reminder, waited for the day, hopped on & bang- success!! Another Philly weekend awaited, Yea! We arrived at Royal (apologies on review delay, circa April 11), for our 8:30pm high top table reservation. We were greeted and seated immediately- right side corner table ready. It's very dim in Royal, small but mobile and a bit noisy. Nothing unexpected. Skating over service, but they are so noteworthy. Our server was attentive, kind and helpful. They HUSSLE here to bus and clear tables. Timing for patrons arriving and being sat was like it was scripted, it was so flawless. No one waiting at the entrance corridor on arrival. Machine precision. Now, our meal- I'm drooling in my daydreams over it. We tried many plates & loved the portion size to be able to do so. The chicken wings- crisp, thick golden fried and tender. The toro with caviar- silk. A touch of brine, a melt in your mouth pleasure. The grilled octopus had an unassuming spice, mellow char and just the right consistency of chew. My husband ordered a surprise- I was scared. Fish heads. WTF, ok here we go. The plate came- heads on heads, quite the portion. This fish- first bite down, intimidation gone. This is one of the best things we've ever eaten. Succulent, moist fall apart whitefish. Didn't even taste like it was battered, no thickness to the breading. It tasted fried but so clean it didn't make sense how good it was. I don't have words. And now we get to the sushi- and I go completely mute.... There is no description worthy here. We had the Dragon Roll and the Spicy Crab Tempura roll. Can we call them the "Die and gone to heaven rolls". Fall apart fresh. Quality. Restrained, but pronounced. Pure. Insane. How can you describe food you will always remember. Except in having passion and a simple happy heart. This is what Royal gave us- in a sushi roll and a fish head. Thanks Jesse and team- simply the best!

One thing though, the restaurant was surprisingly hard to find because there really isn't much signage on the entrance/door. But there's a paper lantern outside, so if you see that, you're in the right place. I had really high expectations coming here and thankfully I wasn't disappointed, although nothing completely blew me away except for the Aka Taka roll. The chirashi bowl was solid overall and had good quality cuts of fish for $52. Everything tasted fresh and balanced, but next time I think I'd personally just order the sakedon instead. The chasu bao also wasn't really worth the $14 in my opinion. It was still good, just not something memorable or mind blowing. Same with the wagyu steak, for $38, it honestly just tasted like a really good steak, and the portion was a little smaller than I expected. My favorite appetizer was definitely the miso eggplant. Such a unique combination of flavors and the eggplant was cooked incredibly soft and well. It almost tasted like a sweet potato with the miso on top, and I would absolutely order it again. But the standout of the night was easily the Aka Taka roll. For a $27 roll, I had very high expectations and somehow they were all met. The roll was stuffed with different cuts of tuna that were unbelievably soft and buttery, and there was this crunch in the middle, maybe daikon? Whatever it was, it added the perfect texture. Honestly, it's something I'd go back just for.
