Board missing in new floor installation
Tanya L.

Mike Butler is an absolute nightmare to work with. We hired him to perform maintenance and repair requests on our properties. He always charged us double, sometimes triple what other contractors charged while never actually doing the work himself or inspecting it. On top of that, he would always talk badly and complain about our tenants as well as his own workers. The worst experience we had with him was when we hired him to do renovation on one of our units. We paid him thousands of dollars to complete the work and it was an absolute hagit job. All that we needed him to do was to lay down new floors and paint the walls. When I had someone inspect the apartment after the work was completed, we saw that they were paint stains all over the New floors, entire rooms weren't painted, there were cigarette and smoke stains on the walls, and there were multiple boards missing in the floors (see photos) we paid thousands of dollars in material and believe that he stole most of it for himself. We ended up firing him, and still have not received keys for our three properties from him. He refuses to respond to us. Avoid this contractor at all costs, he does garbage work.

Hired Mike Butler to do our roof and interior jobs. He charged me for six five gallon buckets of paint when he only used two. He put up paneling that had gouges in it and told me I must have put the gouges in there to get money off. He also charged me for all his roofing equipment including boots for his men. He left our yard a mess with garbage stained our garage floor and driveway and broke our garage door. He even insulated an area we did not ask to be insulated and insisted to be paid for it. What a disaster it was hiring this incompetent individual.

This is my bathroom on 11/21/22 AFTER the repair work by another contractor fixed what Mike's Handyman Services did, look similar does it?

Whitney’s Roofing - Vinyl fence

Whitney’s Roofing

We were looking for a contractor to do a Trex deck with vinyl fence panels, relocate a chain link…read morefence and build an interior closet in a bedroom. I now realize that I should have followed my instincts when meeting Mike Whitney. He started work late each day and didn't get much accomplished while here. He did not listen to what we wanted or follow the plans provided. We provided very detailed plans for the work, where to buy the exact material, item numbers and the cost but he still wasted time buying the wrong items and returning them. He brought help but even they had no clue how to install a fence. It was pieced together, crooked and embarrassingly unsightly. We ended up having to tear it all down and dispose of the material that valued a couple thousand dollars. The Trex was not installed correctly, pieces are cut wrong and not secured. I questioned his method of installation for the fence panels and he took offense but low and behold, the first big wind and they blew down. We called him to see if he would honor his work and return but again telling me what to buy or he won't do it. He mentioned to my husband that he had consulted with someone AFTER he left the job and was told it was not the correct way to do the work. He tried to "fix" it which cost us more money because we had to buy more wood. I cannot believe what he has done. It looks worse than before. He damaged the vinyl post covers by forcing a 5" sleeve cover over a 6" post. GO FIGURE! I knew that was wrong but bought what he told me to get (or he wouldn't come) He had no problem just leaving it that way without a care. Like the chain link fence, he could not make a straight line. Nothing was squared and the fence will all need to come down and redone correctly. Not sure if he uses a measuring tape but he most certainly shouldn't trust his eye for a straight line. The interior work was also a mess and I was left having to plaster holes and do the sanding. He is not a capable contractor! Save yourself a headache and find someone more qualified.

Saratoga Roofing - We go above and beyond offering complete step flashing replacement. This can only be done with siding removal.

I needed someone with knowledge of soffit repair who also had the ability and appropriate equipment…read moreto safely mount my garage roof to access and repair an opening in the soffit of the eave of the second floor roof. Got that? Among the coupons in the Consumer Pak that came in the mail was one for Saratoga Roofing. It said they also did siding in addition to roofing. I figured that might give them an advantage. I called, talked to a real person, and explained what my problem was. I was informed that their estimator, Oleg, would be contacting me to schedule a visit. I received the call from Oleg not more than 30 minutes later. He was able to schedule a visit later that same day. When Oleg arrived, we reviewed the work that needed to be done. Taking advantage of his presence and knowledge, I pointed out a less urgent problem with the soffit in a different section of the house, and a concern I had with some siding at a third location. He assured me that the two soffit problems could be fixed and that I did not need to be concerned about the siding issue. We then agreed upon a price to do the soffit repairs. I was next actually surprised to see that Oleg was prepared to do the repairs right then and there. He unloaded the necessary ladders, tools, and equipment to safely scale the garage roof and fix my major problem. With that section of soffit resolved he moved to the other side of the house and realigned and secured the other soffit. I can't be more pleased with the service, promptness, and work performed by Saratoga Roofing. Oleg was very personable and a pleasure to work with.

First off - roof replacement by a responsible contractor is going to be expensive. That's a fact -…read morejust deal with it. We got prices from three contractors and they were all within a fairly narrow window. We chose Saratoga Roofing primarily based on the quality of the roof inspection. Igor appeared to know what he was talking about, and pointed out both positive and negative things about our old roof that other estimators either didn't see or didn't think was important. We had originally agreed on a date for the work, but then that called to ask if they could move the work forward a few days to avoid a possible weather situation. The crew started arriving at 6:15am and were hard at work by 7am - and they completed the project by 7pm and did a great job of cleaning up. And that was on a day that got well into the 90s. They brought in a large crew - I didn't actually count heads, but there must have been at least 12-15 people. And the way they worked together was amazing to watch - at one point I noted to my wife that it was almost like ballet as they complemented each other. Our roof is complicated - peaks and valleys, and fairly steep. So the bottom line is that we were very pleased with the work they did. I'm sure that there are contractors who might have been less expensive, but this is a job that hopefully we never have to get done again, so I would rather pay a bit more to get it done right.
