The chapel is equipped with an organ, minister chairs for seating near the podium and microphone for the service. Parking is available on the front and on the South side of the funeral home. Residential street parking is also available on both adjacent streets to the building. The services have been only an hour. I arrived early to the last funeral I attended to take a conference call from my car. I was able to see there was a funeral just before the one I was attending. The parking lot cleared just in time to make room for the new arriving mourners. This was an indication to me that the staff is strategic in their scheduling. Thank you! Fortunately, I cannot speak about the value or the business side of coordinating or paying for a funeral services. However, I was greeted by multiple staff when entering the building. They always seemed pleasant.

One of the biggest issues I had with QA Cantrell Funeral Services is that they only offer package deals. For families like mine, who may not need or can't afford all the extras, it's frustrating not being able to choose just the essentials. I wasn't looking for anything elaborate--just a simple, dignified service within a budget. Unfortunately, that didn't seem to be an option. It was also disheartening to see a price quoted for DHS that didn't match what we were actually being charged. That kind of inconsistency makes an already stressful situation worse. And being rushed to set a service date before we even had time to pull together the funds--it felt more like a business transaction than a moment of grieving and honoring someone we loved. Another thing that stood out: for all the money this funeral home makes--especially from Black families--they couldn't offer a simple gesture like beverages for grieving relatives. To find out that refreshments were only for staff? That hurt more than it should have. And then there's the scheduling. Our service was booked too close to another one the same day. Family and friends came expecting to view the body at 2:30 PM, with the service to follow at 3:00 PM. But without warning, the service started at 2:30--rushed and overlapping. That kind of disorganization is unacceptable when you're trying to say goodbye to someone you love. My message to anyone reading this: Please do your research. Don't feel pressured into packages or services you don't want or need. You deserve choices. And you shouldn't be paying over $3,000 for a cremation with a basic funeral, instead of paying over $6500. Ask questions. Compare funeral homes. Your loved one deserves respect--and so do you. NEED I SAY MORE?

As hard as it may seem to believe to some people, there are some cemeteries that are sub-par…read more Worse than that, they are just downright disgusting. Luckily, for a select few of my family members that have passed, the Mt. Olivet Cemetery is NOT one of those places. Admittedly, I hadn't been back to this location in probably 8 years. I don't have many family members buried there, and those who are buried there are members I was not as close to (either because they passed when I was young or before I was born, or because we were not close family members). Either way, I never remembered much about going out to this location. Maybe it's because I'm older now, or maybe it's because my older family members are starting their (hopefully) slow decent from the prime of their lives, but this is the first time I've ever truly paid attention to how this cemetery looks. Now, I was only there for about 45 minutes, but I think it was long enough to truly take in the location. First off, the grass was green and well kept, and the crypts were not dusty or dirty. Again, you may think that goes without saying, but unfortunately that is not always the case. The pavement, at least the roads I traveled, were free from potholes and graffiti as well. Lots of people I spoke with assumed that it would be a very bad cemetery due to the location in Detroit, but I did not find this to be the case. If you don't mind the hike, depending, of course, where you live in proximity to the cemetery, I think it's about as good as you can get in the Metro-Detroit area to have your final resting place - but let's hope that, for all of you reading this, that date is far away in the future.

She said 'We have to dispose of child eventually" When my disabled child passed the first agreement was half the money now and I would get my child. The next day she took over and said that contract was void. She kept him for 18 days and cremated him without my permission and held the death certificate. Had I seen it I would have known he didn't pass from natural causes for the death certificate had the cause as cerebral palsy and epilepsy he had neither. She did no obituary and called like a collection agency instead of helping me through. She has no licence and shouldn't have been involved. If the first contract wasn't voided by her there wouldn't have been a problem. I knew he needed an autopsy and then she had him cremated immediately after and tried getting me to sign it. Also he wasn't embalmed for 18 days! If you have no insurance or want to be harassed and abused daily wanting "her money" I found others this happened to, many others. Read Hollie Kirchoffs review. Go elsewhere. Nancy will ruin your life and your grieving process. She makes me utterly sick! We're coming for you Nancy the tables have turned!
