Eh! I have nothing against the Superior Court of California-Sutter. All Court Employees have been…read moresuper professional and the latrines are surprisingly clean and fully stock of toilet paper. It's just that going to court gives me anxiety as the reason why I deducted 1 star, LOL! But I do know we have them for a reason. As their mission states, "To resolve disputes assuring that individuals are not deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law or denied equal protection of the law." (Superior Court of Sutter). Sometimes you win a dispute/case and not pay anything and win your freedom or anxiety of owing a fine/bill, sometimes you lose a dispute/case then pay the fine, and sometimes you are summoned for jury duty just to watch the trial. The trial may not be Judge Judy like trial where there's some humor into the case, but the judge does show some slight humor in regards of tying the case back to the Law if found guilty. As the judge will not show favorites between the defendant and the prosecutor. Tips to win a case: 1. Provide important key evidence! Such as photos, videos, documents, and/or witnesses to make your dispute much stronger to win a case to prove yourself innocent. 2. Hire the best lawyer. (optional). 3. Be confident and have good body language. Speak professionally (avoid curse languages). 4. Treat all court employees nicely (never show aggression). 5. Be prepared to share your story in a clear concise manner, provide timelines if possible and stick to it if you'll be summoned again. 6. Stay kind and calm at all times. 7. Attend your trial if you can make it. If you can't make it (re-schedule in a timely manner preferably 2-3wks in advance prior to your trial date). Tips to lose a case: 1. Don't be over confident or too cocky. 2. Steps from 1-7 from "Tips to win a case", just exactly the opposite. LOL! Important note: Attend your jury duty if you've been summoned! It's part of being the world's greatest American Citizen aka You to partake. Plus who knows, you can sorta mentally prepare down the future if you were to be in the same situation as the defendant on how to win/lose a case if you were to be in their shoes. Namm sayinn.. This skinny officer tells me there's no such thing as a fix it ticket being all cocky. I told him well that's not what I was told by the officer on the motorcycle. He was cocky which made him look like a fool because I was right and he was wrong. So I get to the counter to pay my $25 ticket and I asked the clerk about my ticket. As a result I have suffered severe health issues from prolonged trials, that turned into lifelong conditions after and forevermore linked to the trauma of continuous injustices. Unfortunately the judicial system is severely broken and corrupt. Expecting the oath you swear upon in the courtroom to be honored by all is delusional. Please understand that your situation may become worse than it already is by going to court, placing your debt and stress at an all time high, as well as remove precious years from your life. Within these walls ethical misconduct runs rapid like water, ruled by actors with a love for money, power, and popularity. Of course there is a handful of people whom to trust, who are not deceptive and possess integrity with pure motives. These humans work endlessly to serve clients compassionately and appropriately. If you must have dealings here, actively pursue the few rare gems for services, assistance and hire. We were here for a traffic violation of the texting variety. Parking was packed even before 9 on a Monday. Got through to security and proceeded to get our service wait tickets via an e-kiosk. It took about 10 minutes before we were registered and told to go to room 30 where the traffic violations were being heard. Upon entering this courtroom, the judge was hearing testimony from a police officer while the "violating" party sat in the table a few chairs from him. Mikes were sensitive enough for testimonies to be heard inside. I figured that those who contested their citations went first as the arresting officer were present during the hearing. This went on for some time, and a 15-minute recess ended the scheduled disputes. It went like a breeze after that as those with petty traffic citations were summoned in batches of three's. I sat with my teen during the proceeding and the judge was thankful for my presence. We luckily got off a forgiveness as this first-time violator was a minor. We spent a total of 2 hrs and 30 minutes overall. Not quite what I planned for a Monday morning, but I'm sure glad it got the result it did.

But I…read morewas driving on Broad Street in Nevada City and the building, a street away in Church Street, caught my attention. Tall building, one of the tallest in the downtown area, painted white. It had an art deco design, very cool vintage version. Clean geometric lines and soft angular corners. It even had art deco lettering and of course a clock on the front facade. So my review is more from the perspective of a tourist, history buff, and amateur admirer of architecture. The first court house was built on Broad Street in 1851. It was a wood structure along with the log cabin jail. In 1856, the court house moved to its present day location. In the years ensuing, it has burnt down several times but always rebuilt. In 1900, it went through an extensive remodeling and updating. But in 1937, the renovations for its present day architectural presence occurred. The commissioned architects was George Sellon. Sellon was a noted architect of his time. He was the first California State Architect 1907. This position was created by the Governor after the devastating 1906 San Francisco earthquakes and fire. He resigned the post after two years due to Legislation preventing him from working on his own private projects. His work is listed under many historical registries. His Sacramento based private architectural business continues today as Lionakas. I drive by the present day Lionakas office and never put the history together until now just by a happen chance lazy weekend excursion to Nevada City. Luv the rich history of our local gold mine counties.

Most people visiting the court do so on official business as jury trials, drug court, juvenile dependency, traffic trials, etc. take place here. My wife and I were fortunate enough to be visiting here as tourists, and the historic Courthouse was worth a short visit on that note. Members of the public can enter after going through security. However, there are no tours available. Erected in 1921, the court interior features beautiful architecture, giving a timeless permanence to this official place often lacking in modern facilities. Marbled walls, columns, ceiling - all add up to an impressive sight. We climbed the stairs to admire the courthouse from all vantage points, and of course take pictures. The grounds as well are lovely, and a nice shaded picnic table is out back. Diagonal street parking can be found on the sides and back of the courthouse (one side is 2 hour limit). A worthwhile stop on a visit to Quincy.

Judge Samuel McAdams unjustly thwarted the reversal of Judge Fall's erroneous rulings by staying Ms. Zhou's "motion to vacate" for 87 days without a valid reason, resulting in the motion being excluded from the mandatory 75-day ruling window. 3. Judge Stephen Mock, without considering the merits of the case or the pending motions, unjustly ordered Ms. Zhou to pay $45,000 in attorney's fees within 2 months, disregarding the fact that the defendant cited an outdated agreement to obtain the fees. Judge Mock then disqualified himself pursuant to CCP section 170.1 after refusing to allow the first amended complaint to stand. 4. When Ms. Zhou challenged Judge Mock's unjust attorney's fee ruling, Judge McAdams disregarded the case's merits and stayed the case "for all purposes," halting the proceedings against all other defendants. Video evidence shows Judge McAdams improperly removing Ms. Zhou from the Zoom hearing when she raised the issue of the defendants citing an outdated agreement to obtain attorney's fees, but he denied this occurrence when he disqualified himself using the excuse of making the recusal decision after the ruling window closed. It appears that delaying hearings and using the "ruling window" as an excuse to avoid facing the real issues is a common loophole exploited by some individuals within the legal system. 5. The defendant filed a frivolous complaint based on a concocted lie that could not sustain a demurrer. However, Judge Maguire stayed the demurrer motion to await the appeal result, citing the norm that demurrers are generally overruled. In fact, frivolous complaints cannot sustain a demurrer, but Judge Maguire refused to read and rule on Ms. Zhou's motion. When Ms.Zhou filed a motion to lift the stay, Judge Maguire acknowledged the complaint was unrelated to the appeal but nonetheless refused to rule on the demurrer. 6. The Yolo Superior Court clerk incorrectly invalidated Ms. Zhou's fee waiver, using an "automatic invalidation" rule. When Ms. Zhou searched online and challenged which rule they followed to invalidate the fee waiver, the court stated that it was an old rule, which had been outdated by a new rule about 1-2 years ago. However, the rule governing fee waivers, Cal. Gov. Code § 68639, has been in effect since 2009 and has never been outdated or updated. When questioned about the exact code of the rule that had expired and that the court used to invalidate Ms. Zhou's fee waiver, the court refused to provide an answer, citing "privacy issues." This demonstrates a clear misapplication of the law by the court clerk and a lack of transparency in the court's decision-making process. 7. Billionaire defendants' attorney, Ravinder Mehta, argued in the respondent's brief that the self-represented plaintiff should be treated as if represented by an attorney. However, Ms.Zhou was not afforded the same opportunities as attorneys to correct errors and faced numerous instances of unfair treatment.
