They did have the work done, but the vibe was terrible. I see some crooked shapes on the reviews but they still left a five star which seemed odd to me. I was able to catch one when I was getting my nails done, but was able to correct it before it was too late. But the worst of all was the lady at the front. She was extremely condescending and had no intention to help out. I wasnt very aware of the different types of nail services and she was not ready to do work. So I figured out this place is more of a factory wherein you just get your nail done and leave. It's not a place to explore options before starting on your nails. This was do your own research before coming type. I dont remember the name of my tech, but just like the front lady, it was difficult to get recommendations from her too. I had a gel manicure done by Tammy a little over a month ago for my wedding! Trying out a brand new salon right before my big day made me a little nervous, but looking back at the results, I'm so glad I did! Getting to the salon wasn't too difficult, some street parking wasn't too difficult. The salon had a cute and modern vibe to it! I was instantly seated by Tammy and she got to work. They had an iPad at each station, which really made my experience here relaxing. I had a hard gel set on, and Tammy did mention how they'd have to start clean and remove this set. I was charged for removal, which I wasn't the greatest fan of. I asked Tammy for a classic nude, white ombré with a bit of glitter on top, and she delivered! This is probably the best set of ombré nails I've ever had done!!! I've had many nail techs say how ombré nails look better on longer nails, but Tammy made things work with the nail length I was comfortable with! I was a bit skeptical of the longevity since it wasn't the hard gel I'm used to, but this set legit lasted me over FOUR WEEKS (with the exception of one nail that had gel-ex on because of some previous nail damage)! If I were in the area more often, I'd go back to Buttercup in a heartbeat!!!! They are on the pricier side, but you'll be paying for quality IMO. read more

The service I requested was the lash perm point extensions and I also just did a re-touch. Lanvy is very professional, polite, and skilled in what she does. She asked many questions (that I was never asked before by anyone for lash services!) to truly customize my lashes to how I wanted them. She will also give her honest opinion to what she thinks is suitable, which I so appreciate cause I can be indecisive. I could tell that she cares for the work that she does, is very detailed, and will make sure that I'm happy with the results. I highly recommend her! She won't disappoint! This place is so cute and chic and clean. I got a pedicure here with the nail tech. They have iPads in case you want to watch a movie! lol. They also put you in these super comfortable reclining chairs with blankets. It's perfect to take a nap. Only downside is that there is no parking, just 3 parking spots. I've had extensions done at other places before but Lanvy was the most thorough and attentive technician I've had. I wanted a very natural look, and she took the time to show me sample photos of her previous work to confirm the style and volume before starting. This is a review for the hybrid eyelash extensions with Lanvy. I had such a wonderful relaxing experience today from the friendly receptionist that greeted me to Lanvy's gentle and calm presence. I haven't had eyelash extensions in 5+ years but decided to try them again after seeing Lanvy's more natural looks on Instagram. She asked me whether I wanted black/brown/a mix in color, where I wanted the longest lashes, and how long I wanted the lashes... all questions I have never been asked before or considered. I felt like I was in the best hands. The whole space is well kept and clean. The chairs are amazing (where can I get one?)!! It was a real treat yourself experience and I even got to take a nap. The service was booked for 2 hours but Lanvy was finished in little over an hour. Love the efficiency! I drove all the way from San Diego to get my nails done here. If that does not convince you... then, let me elaborate more! I am very picky about where I get my nails done. I wanted a salon that uses Korean/Japanese products, and also a salon with artists who are experienced in executing nail designs. There are some salons in SD; however, they are not taking new clients or they are wayyyy too expensive. It may seem counterintuitive to drive (considering gas prices); but I am also a person who likes to explore new areas and go gallivanting by myself. BOOKING: It is very simple! If you have access to their IG acct, their Vagaro link is there. Shortly after your reservation is made, you will receive an email and/or text msg. From there, you can receive a quote for your design. LOCATION: It's in a quaint house in the suburbs of Fullerton--uncharted territory but the area is seems safe! Parking is in an alleyway between Stanford/Cornell Ave with 3 parking spots. Plus, the staff is very considerate of safety as there is a doorbell for you to ring once you arrive. SERVICE: 10/1000+ for service. The staff is very accommodating. They went over my design choice, and showcased a wide arrange color options. I decided to have my mani/pedi done simultaneously--Tammy and Karen were very sweet and efficient. Haru even set an iPad out for me with Netflix. I was done in 1.5 hrs, and the quality of application of products, design, and service provided was immaculate. PRICING: For me the pricing is great. I pay for good quality! With my pedicure/manicure, it was about $144 total w/o tip (pretty average if you ask me). They accept Zelle (which most banks facilitate) and cash (be prepared!) I have been to countless nail salons in the US and Asia and I can confidently say Haru is the cream of the crop. Her meticulous attention to detail is unparalleled and her skill set is significantly above average. I find that most nail artists can replicate a photo about 80-90%. Haru always does exactly what I ask for while maintaining personal style. Another issue I've had with other artists is painful drilling and filing with the removal of old gel. Haru has her filing technique down to a science and has never hurt me once. I also have zero problems with broken cuticles, lifting gel or discoloration of my natural nail. Very cute and fast, but hours later my cuticles keep bleeding on and off...lots of nail colors and nice styles though. Communication is pretty easy with Haru. She got me what I wanted and more. I was able to message and send her reference photos and she was able to deliver. This place gets two stars for sanitation, would be 4 stars overall but the cleanliness makes me wary. There were two people who did my nails - Haru did my design and her other employee prepped my nails. I will say for certain the girl who prepped my nails cut my cuticle too much that it started to bleed. She apologized, but what I find odd is that she didn't even sanitize my finger (never did I feel a sting/ see her get an alchy wipe) nor did she ever tell me to go wash my hands after it started to bleed. She did stop the bleeding with a new cotton ball, but I'm pretty sure she didn't sanitize because I didn't feel a sting. When the first girl asked to take a look at my hands as I sat down after coming into the room, I had to interject with her and tell her, "hey I'm gonna go wash my hands first." I have two fingers that are bleeding on and off, which is a first in the handful of times I've actually gotten my nails done. I'm aware mistakes happen, and I did get an apology at the moment, but never did I see an alcohol wipe used. Maybe the nail products had alcohol in it?? I doubt it. Regardless, she stopped the bleeding at that moment and then continued without having me wash my hands. I let her continue cuz she's the pro. I'm just saying what I observed.. For the price, I like the design immensely, but the blood isn't cool and the aftercare the initial girl took didn't seem that clean to me. read more

I had to schedule an appointment last minute before an international trip and Haru was so kind to respond and squeeze me into her busy schedule (thank you, thank you!). I have small and thin nails that I imagine aren't the easiest to work on, but Haru was so gentle and was able to recreate exactly what I had in mind. These are by far the best nails I've ever got done in both how it felt during trimming, coloring, etc. and how they came out. I love how syrupy, clean (not a single thing out of place!), thin (not over-layered) and cute these look and I will 100% be coming back to Haru for all my mani and pedi needs going forward. This review is long overdue! I can't say enough good things about Buttercup by Haru in Fullerton. I started going there in February 2024 to get my birthday nails done, hoping to find a place that could help with my wedding nails in September 2024. I've always struggled with brittle nails and had been told I had oily nail beds, which meant that my nails would peel within a week of getting them done anywhere else. I typically only got my nails done for special occasions because I felt it was a waste of time. From my very first appointment with Haru, the owner, I felt a sense of hope. I shared my nail struggles with her, and she confidently assured me, "No problem! We can grow out your natural nails by September." I had never heard such a promise before! Haru explained that it was all about proper nail prep, and that conversation marked the beginning of my nail journey. Although Haru is at the Los Angeles location now, she remains my favorite, and I have a lot of respect for Ash and Diane always being accommodating. Fast forward to my wedding day, and I was thrilled to have my own natural nails! The team was incredibly supportive, sharing tips and tricks to help keep my gel polish on for an unbelievable 4 to 5 weeks since my first appointment. While I normally don't like to be bothered with writing reviews, Haru's beautiful work and her cozy, aesthetic, welcoming space definitely deserves to be recognized and you guys deserve to hear about it after my years of leeching off of other Yelp reviews. So here I am and here it is- First off, Buttercup by Haru is a one-person establishment. That means the owner, Haru, is the one who will be working with you, anytime you're there. That means consistency in quality of work and design. She's also really sweet and genuinely cares about her clients. Communication with her through text from making the appt to actually getting nails done has been a smooth sail. Haru is both very talented and flexible with her designs. I've seen her design everything from cactus to KakaoTalk characters. But personally, what I truly appreciate is her ability to anchor down the stones and gems on the nails so they'll probably grow out before they fall out if you gave it enough time. She also carries myriad of different stones, gems, and crystals to make your desired design come to life. I tend to opt for gel and she uses Presto Gel Polish, which is a Japan brand and easily one of the best gel polish brands out there in terms of color and durability. Her regular polishes are also strictly from designers like YSL, Chanel, and my personal favorite- Tom Ford. Buttercup is a charming little nail shop, in terms of both the experience and space. Haru definitely much attention to her interior from the espresso machine to the candles and it does not go unnoticed. I cant believe I haven't left a review for Haru yet. Haru has been doing my nails for a little over a year now and I can not go to anyone else because she's the only one who has been able to keep my nails from constantly breaking!! I do my normal chores (cooking, cleaning, vacuuming) and my nails don't chip or break anymore. She makes sure that you love your nails before you leave and they also have 2 weeks policies in place where if your nails do break or chip she'll fix it at no cost. Haru also does my eyelash extensions and they look so natural that people ask if my lashes were naturally that long. It perfectly blends with my eye shape and I just absolutely love how meticulous she is when it comes to details. Haru is literally so sweet and caring to her customers and it's worth waiting for dates to open up for me to go to her!
