I was told by the receptionist that North Pointe's insurance program changed and therefore, I owed money. I stated that I was never made aware of this and there are laws protecting consumers. They stated they would look into it. I was told that the bill was reduced, but they expected me to pay half. Again, I told them that I did not think this was appropriate due to the fact of never being told that I would need to pay anything due to their policy change which I should have been informed about. I pay for dental insurance to avoid having to pay for routine cleanings. Plus my husband is ill and not working so if I knew I would have to pay extra, I wouldn't have booked the cleaning here. They said that they look into it and if I didn't hear from them that I could count on the bill being forgiven. I didn't hear from them, but I did get a bill from collections. I'm livid. I thought we were working on handling this together and I thought it was handled, yet they sent it to collections. They lack accountability and compassion.

This dental office is friendly and personable. During my cleaning Robin the hygienist was absolutely amazing. Also, I've had braces for a while and will still need some work on my teeth when they come off, so being able to have a dentist help me continue to get my teeth where they need to be is a huge help. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone I know!

I walked in at 9:50, was in the chair at 10A and out the door at 10:30. WTF. I have no idea what this DR Doering even looks like- all I know is that it was done and I didn't have enough time to even realize what was happening. He runs a VERY well oiled machine- it is obviously what he specializes in so it wasn't too surprising. He was able to provide the confidence I needed to proceed with the procedure, and by the time I had a chance to think much he had music on and gave me a count down how much time was left along the way. It probably took a total of 8-10 minutes. Ok, I hope I don't need another root canal- but if I do.... I know where I'm going.

Had an endo consult here last week with Dr Doering. Once he realized I was not a candidate for his…read moreservices, his patient demeanor immediately changed. I was basically rushed out with an active infection and told to consult an oral surgeon ASAP. I had to ask for an antibiotic for the interim, which he told me "not to take unless I needed it." When I consulted my dentist & the oral surgeon later that day, both said to take the antibiotic immediately, as the numbing may not work during the treatment I needed with an active infection. Dr Doering also refused to prescribe me the treatment for a very common symptom of this antibiotic, which is standard process for the issue I experienced and has never been a problem with other dentists in the past. I was billed over $300 for hardly 5 minutes of Dr Doering's time, yet felt like I was disregarded because I did not end up spending big $$$ with him for treatment. Very happy to take your money, but incredibly reluctant to offer any necessary medication. Do not recommend.

It fell off again on a Friday evening. I could not secure it back in place because it has a HOLE in it. I called Monday morning. It took an HOUR to finally get ahold of someone and then I was told they could not possibly get me in anytime Monday. So I guess the dentist lied?? It's not important to get in right away?? It fell off FRIDAY! Whatever, time to look for a new dentist.

I can say with confidence that Dr Piefer and his team are hands down the best. They understand my barriers with appointments and do not push me into any treatment that I am not comfortable with. I am continually impressed with the kindness and knowledge of all the staff at the Cascade location! As stated in my first review, I am so happy I made the switch to MI Smiles. First review from 2021 Such a great experience with Dr Peifer and staff! I'm so happy I made the move to Mi Smiles. Staff was kind, courteous and knowledgeable. The dentist changed his mind 2 times on the treatment. First he says I need a root canal and crown then he decides he can just fill it. HE DIDNT drill out the decay first! Just put the permanent filling over the decay. I'm reporting him to the dental board. (took 5 min to do) fast forward 6 months later and not only did the filling fall out a huge chunk of my tooth broke off. He went with the lazy route. Also, the back office dental assistant is rude as heck and was arguing with me about my teeth. She also rudely demanded I pay for a crown up front. I had already discussed payment with the office. It was very unprofessional and not her place to discuss money like that. Especially not in a demanding tone as she did. Money wasted and I left feeling very mistreated. I should have walked out like my instincts were telling me.
