Dr. Piero in Holland, Michigan, has transformed me from a dental skeptic--someone who once needed nitrous oxide just to get through a cleaning--into someone who actually looks forward to dental appointments. It all comes down to trust and whatever magic this doctor has up his sleeve! Recently, I needed to have a back molar extracted, and I was terrified. I assumed Dr. Piero would refer me to an oral surgeon, but I couldn't have been more wrong. As I sat trembling in the chair, he looked directly at me and asked, "Do you trust me?" Without hesitation, I answered, "Yes." After a week of antibiotics, I returned to his office for the procedure. His staff is amazing, and Dr. Piero even has his dog in the office to help calm anxious patients. Three shots of Novocain and 15 minutes later--yes, just 15 minutes--he had successfully removed the tooth. I was in complete shock, WITHOUT PAIN! And let me say this again: NO PAIN. Some alleged big-shot orthodontist showed up leaves me in there with my mouth stuffed with wedges for about 15 minutes while he went and spoke with this big shot, when he returned he says "hey I'm just going to show him around You don't mind do you?" Keep in mind the entire time my mouth is full of cotton and wedges waiting for my procedure to start. After about 40 minutes he returns and then gets to work. he is very arrogant, unprofessional, self entitled and should not be practicing Dentistry anywhere. Please at all costs avoid your family going to this dentist there is many better options in Holland. Avoid avoid avoid please go elsewhere!

This being my first surgical experience, I was quite nervous. At my initial consultation with Dr. Kirby he informed me that one of the teeth wouldn't need to be pulled at this time. This was a refreshing surprise for a dental practitioner to not push for as many procedures as possible. During this consultation, everything was explained and easy to understand. Dr. Kirby stayed to answer any questions I had and I didn't feel rushed at all. It was as if I was his only patient that day with the level of attention he and his assistant showed me during that consultation. Upon leaving the consultation, I felt more at ease about the procedure and felt confident that Dr. Kirby would take good care of me. On the day of my procedure, Dr. Kirby was running a bit behind schedule due to some additional work a previous patient was having performed. But, Dr. Kirby's assistant checked on me regularly and kept me informed the entire time. When Dr. Kirby arrived in my procedure room, he answered a couple more questions I had and then went to work. The procedure went perfectly and Dr. Kirby even spent some time in the recovery room with me to answer after-care questions and make sure I knew everything I needed to before heading home. In the months following my procedure, I ran into some issues with my insurance company. Dr. Kirby provided a letter for the insurance company on my behalf and ensured that the situation was completely resolved. The fact that his high-level of care and compassion extends beyond the surgical room shows he truly cares about his patients' whole experience. Dr. Kirby's ability to quickly put me at ease and the level of care and attention he provides is extraordinary. While nobody looks forward to dental surgery, if I ever find myself in need of it again, Dr. Kirby will always be my first choice.

We have excellent…read moreinsurance (Aetna) but this place is out-of-network and charges premiums that are above reasonable and customary for this area, according to Aetna - which was ok to me initially, if the service was also premium, like the website made it seem - but it's not. For example, you will not get the experienced dentists listed on the website - at least I didn't. We always get a young junior dentist who is not listed on their website. And, I was shocked this month when I needed urgent care and the entire place was shut down for a week for "spring break" - what other healthcare provider of any kind ANYWHERE does this?!... especially when patients are relying on them for urgently needed dental care. They did have their junior dentist available "oncall," but when I reached him and told him that I had pain and bleeding in one of my teeth, he said that unless it's very severe I'll just have to wait until next week when they get back(!). And when I complained to Dr Lebster, he was only very defensive and angry, not calm and reasonable. And, they're also not open on Fridays, and whichever other weeks they shut down. Also, my wife last week waited 40 minutes for her teeth cleaning appointment and then received a very hurried 20-minute session (although still at full premium price, of course, $177, which is 48% higher than Aetna deems reasonable and customary for my area, so I have to pay the remainder, of course). This is not premium service, at all, and not even the level of care we're used to from less expensive standard dental practices in other cities, so we're switching.
