He did such great work -- with unparalleled professionalism and positivity -- that we have hired him to do additional tile work for us later this Fall. We have renovated three homes and have worked with literally dozens of contractors and tradespersons over the years, and none have come close to the level of professionalism, attention to detail, craftsmanship, punctuality, efficiency, and dedication that Matt displayed during our project. I originally hired Josh years ago for a very small job which he humbly accepted in between his other large jobs (in hindsight he was far overqualified). I knew he would be our person for any future projects. When it came time for cabinetry for our basement finish, I knew Josh was who we would use. To cover my bases, I explored a couple other quotes. Here's the nutshell on that. While Josh's pricing was at first glance (slightly) on the higher side than other quotes, the value easily exceeded the other quotes we got. One was slightly less but the cabinets would have to be painted after install (they didn't provide painting) whereas Josh follows best practices and all cabinets were expertly painted prior to install. Josh is also able to do just about anything you can dream of. We did a custom wardrobe-style storage closet with paneling to match an adjacent wall and the work he did seamlessly integrates with the work of our basement carpenter. Moreover, when some things went south with our project and we had to have the floors redone, Josh really saved us. We no longer trusted our original carpenter and Josh helped fix trim work that had been damaged in the floor debacle process. As you can see, I really can't say enough good things about Josh and his skills. The bonus to all of this is he is a kind, genuine person who is genuinely wonderful to be around. Don't be surprised if it feels as comfortable having him in your home as it does a long-time friend. Show Josh respect and kindness and he will return it tenfold and more.

Things my husband has had to repair in our brand new cabinetry include the vent hood, one cabinets…read morehinges, our bathroom door push to open feature and a couple other push to open features. Poor quality: a set of window doors three creeks made for us my contractor called a "fifth graders art project" as staples, nails and hot glue were all clearly visible on the backsides. Quoted 4-6 weeks, the project was actually never fully completed but at 14 weeks we went with someone else to fix his mistakes. When mistakes are made, and many were made, owner Michael Ginzel will do anything to avoid liability including just flat out lying and inventing stories to push liability elsewhere. In my case, he said other people threw out imaginary paint he claims to-but never actually did-leave in my house. Even if he isn't lying about this imaginary paint-it was no ordinary paint-it was highly toxic, carcinogenic paint that is too "volatile" to even use on site (his words) and comes with a list of health concerns he emails me, infertility as well. It needs to be in a special storage container for this reason as well, not just under my sink-but-it was a flat out lie. He claims to have left this paint in my sink basin where my toddler could easily reach it, so even his lies are huge mistakes. Scratches were created-perhaps even by his own company moving the doors but he claims other on site workers created them to avoid liability-and his finisher then used the wrong paint to try and fix them which had the wrong color and sheen (which led to the imaginary thrown out paint/avoiding liability story). Using the wrong paint made the imperfections ten times worse than just leaving them alone would have. Then, he wanted more money to fix these imperfections that his own worker Andrew admitted were in his words-"pretty crappy." Over promised, under delivered in every way and every day my husband is fixing something that falls apart. Every mistake made he wanted more money to fix. Screwed up my garden window-he suggested getting a new window to fix the problem. So we decided to get a new window but oh! That will still be a couple thousand extra actually even with the new window. Completely messed up the design of my island cabinets that I never approved the design of because he failed to get confirmation on them from me-he also did not give me a sample door of these to ok before creating-and gave me no rebate on them nor did he fix them so now I just have to live with cabinets I never designed or wanted for my island. If you hire 3 creeks, you'll either be left living with his mistakes, paying him for them or paying someone else for them and you'll be waiting around a long time to do it while Michael legit gaslights you.

If you choose to work with her, do not let her refer you to Hummingbird HRD (Crystal and Brian Mansanares), as that is where everything unraveled. Jaime first helped me after a Christmas morning plumbing disaster, and at the outset, she was fantastic--quick to respond, knowledgeable, and actively engaged in creating thoughtful layouts. Because things seemed to be going well, we also hired her for additional design work in our kitchen and living room. But when she referred us to Hummingbird as the general contractor, she stepped away entirely, leaving us in the hands of an inexperienced team that led to an overpriced, incomplete, and poorly executed renovation. Where Things Went Wrong Jaime and Crystal turned out to be personal friends rather than longtime collaborators, and our home was essentially a "guinea pig project"--a fact Jaime admitted only after things had gone terribly wrong. The staggering lack of professionalism from Hummingbird resulted in months of stress, wasted money, and a home that remains unfinished to this day. After Crystal declared the project "done" (despite glaringly poor workmanship), I asked Jaime to see the state of things herself. She agreed with me that the quality was unacceptable and even apologized for how badly things had turned out. She admitted that Crystal lacked the necessary experience and recognized that we had been unintentionally used as a test project. To make matters worse, she also told me, "Wow, I didn't realize you were so detail-oriented--I would feel exactly the same." As if they thought they could get away with subpar work and I wouldn't notice--truly insulting. Jaime's Final Disappointing Choice To her credit, Jaime convinced Crystal and Brian to attempt to fix their mess, but she ultimately abandoned the project. Despite personally acknowledging all the flaws, she later sent me a completely contradictory statement: "I have every faith in Hummingbird completing the project as promised, and overall, I believe they have done an exceptional job." This project was supposed to take 4-6 weeks starting in March--it was still dragging on in November, at which point I cut ties entirely because it was no longer worth the emotional toll. To this day, our home remains unfinished and cheap-looking, a painful reminder of the stress and financial loss we endured. What We Actually Got for Jaime's Fees After paying her design fees for both the bathroom and kitchen/living room, all we truly received was: * Layout options * A recommendation for Hummingbird (which proved disastrous) * Help selecting a kitchen table and rug Had we gone with a different general contractor, I might be writing a glowing five-star review. Unfortunately, given how this played out, I cannot recommend Jaime Langer at all.

There was brown liquid spilled on the cabinets and floors, paint spilled on the floors, stairs & countertops, outlet covers missing (still not found), painter's tape still stuck to the walls & baseboards, and sunflower seeds littered across EVERY single floor in the house (including the in the carpet and the bathtub). I am shocked at the way the house was left and how sloppy this was. This was not the condition that it was supposed to be left in. I had a showing the next morning so had to spend over 3 hours cleaning it. I contacted the manager about it and received a $275 discount. They did offer to come back over and "take care of these items" but I had no time to let them come back so I had to take care of it myself. For how much I paid to for this to be done I expected way more from this company. I will not be using this company again.

We purchased cabinets for our kitchen and absolutely love them! Buy & Build was by far the best value in the market, we shopped several cabinet and retail stores and there was no comparison. After visiting a large retailer, we set our budget for our kitchen thinking we might have to change our thoughts on countertops, etc. Once we found Buy & Build, we were able to do brand new "Elite" cabinets, new granite, sink and nice faucet all for less than just the cabinets at other stores and they were nicer cabinets! The staff is very friendly and informative, they helped us with our design and also assisted in the entire granite process including installation. We did have one cabinet with a blemish in the door, they replaced the door with no questions asked, we just had to email them a picture. Very friendly staff and the best prices we were able to find anywhere. If you are remodeling your kitchen or bathroom, you should definitely check them out. We will be back to do our bathroom soon! read more

My wife and I were shopping around for kitchen cabinets and granite countertops.We received bids from many different places that all seemed really expensive,a friend of ours told us we should try out buy and build and boy are we glad we did.The customer service was great and they even drew up our kitchen for free and went thru all the measurements with us to make sure we were happy with the design.My wife and I could not be happier with not only the product itself which was the pepper shaker cabinets,but with the whole buy and build experience.We also had granite countertops installed and that whole process couldn't have been any smoother.Thank you buy and build for helping us make our kitchen look fantastic.I hope to be able to do future projects.If you are looking for kitchen and bath materials you would be crazy not to at least check this place out. read more

We just remodeled our kitchen and went to Buy & Build for our cabinets and granite. WOW, amazing savings, we saved over $10,000 from the quote we got from The Depot. These cabinets are really nice, dovetail drawers with the soft close feature, solid wood, very high quality for the price. We also did granite, Mike was great to work with and we saved thousands on the granite too...and they installed it! We got our sink and faucet from Buy & Build too, these guys have everything you need for your remodel at amazing prices, if you are remodeling, you have to check this place out! First, the material which we chosen from IKEA does not match with the kitchen top which you delivered. We have rejected it when you came for the installation.
