I really wanted this to work out so I could order often. Sounded like a great idea.
Ordered online and the website shipping is not clear. Jody called and we discussed the order as a gift. All went well.
The package arrived a day late and DRENCHED in WATER!
They packaged it with ziplock bags of ice that melted all over (see pictures). Cake was warm and spoiled from sitting in 90º heat and no ice.
Called to get a refund Jody said no problem and apologized and kept me on the phone a lot longer than necessary hearing her moan about what happened. Finally got her off the phone.
She called back as I was trying to nap and asked me to send back the cake only if it's not problem. The conversation went *something* like this:
Jody: Send the cake back if it's not a problem.
Me: It's a problem, the person who receiving it will have a hard time doing that.
Jody: Well if it's not too much trouble, it's how we do things, can you send the cake back.
Me: It will be hard, I"m telling you it will be hard.
Jody: Okay, she doesn't have to. But if she can just box it up and go to the Post Office on Monday then we can take a look.
Me: I sent you photos of it all, why do you need me to make her go through a lot of trouble to send the cake back?
Jody: Well I said if it's not a problem.
Me: I told you three times it's a problem and you keep insisting. Send me the label and I will have her send it back but this is not good business and you're not getting a good review from me.
Jody: Okay, don't send it back (then she went on and on and I had to push her off the phone.
THEN she called back. She AGAIN kept saying the cake has to go back. She was going to email the recipient a label meaning the recipient had to take a bus to Staples, pay to print it, take a bus to the Post Office and send the box out after spending money on packing tape.
Basically Jody wanted to RIP OFF THE UNITED STATES POST OFFICE by claiming they screwed up with the WET BOX from loose ice was the problem.
Finally I just said fine and hung up. I promptly emailed her and told her to keep her refund.
They are horrible through and through. Jody talks your ear off hemming and hawing about things and not getting to the point under a sugary guise but she was ruthless about not caring what it would take for the gift recipient to return the rotting cake. It was a fiasco.
