For my 4000 Yelp review I will be highlighting this establishment. My wife recommended that we check out this really amazing vegan restaurant on our way back from the Wisconsin Dells. The hours are very minimal so we want to make sure we got there early. We didn't know how busy this place would be but we came in mid-afternoon and the menu was absolutely appetizing from what they offered I was immediately interested in their sweet and savory barbecue sandwich. My wife got a soup, the staff was very nice in accommodating and professional throughout the entire visit. They checked in on us and make sure we had water, they engaged in conversation with us , and they take pride in their menu. They offered a Pay It Forward program which was pretty cool to see and they even sell some books too. The food here is also very well priced and affordable. Our meals were absolutely delicious and it filled us up for the rest of the day. This place offered a really clean restrooms and his restaurant was really clean. Love love love this restaurant! Not personally someone who eats exclusively vegan, but my husband and I are big fans of the unique flavors and clean eating that this restaurant provides. The staff here are so nice, and every time we try something new it doesn't disappoint. The desserts here are a must, they do in fact taste as good as they look. I have been a vegetarian (of the ovolacto variety) since 1965. Eating out is a bit of a mine field. Is there lard in the beans? Is there chicken fat in the soup? Do they sneak bacon bits in their fillings? Are foods fried in animal fat? Okay, you get my drift. Our dear friend told us about this legendary vegan restaurant in Baraboo. So it was a must visit for us. Immediately greeted and shown a nice table by a very friendly wait person with a cool European accent. So nice to know everything on the menu is 'safe". My wife ordered coffee, which came with a small carafe of vegan (fooled my wife) cream. She told me the coffee was really good. Split pea and vegetable soup (no ham) and a cheeze and veggie sandwich for both of us, please. Sometimes I find vegan food lacking in flavor and texture. Here, however, we found our food to be really really delicious. The sandwich was a perfect compliment to the soup. The soup was a perfect compliment to the sandwich. Our waiter kept my wife in coffee throughout our meal. Excellent service! For dessert we were recommended a cashew chocolate Expresso cake. It blew our minds, so creamy and flavorful. Bottom line, you don't have be a vegan to enjoy this place. The food and service are top notch. For those who avoid animal products this place is for you. Baraboo is a really nice little city. We came in late when they were closing in less than an hour and they were nothing but welcoming and gracious. Moving seats and tables for our large group. Never rushing us! Everyone ordered something different and it was all spectacular. My husband and I are vegan foodies who love exploring vegan restaurants on our travels. I am not exaggerating that this may be the BEST vegan restaurant we've ever experienced. Each element was so complex and well crafted, the chutney on my bowl was so flavorful I was digging around for lost droplets. Great simple food for the kids too, pasta with red sauce and chicken nuggets. The dessert case was to die for, every single thing was flawless and all plant based! So one of the main reasons for staying near Baraboo was to have this restaurant available. It did not disappoint! The location was clean, warm and welcoming. The decor was nice, clean, fresh and cozy. Everyone in the building was so kind and sweet with the service. The food... oh my gosh! The food... Was excellent! I bought one of their cookbooks available because the food was so excellent. Our family started off with the hummus plates. The bread was charred on each side perfectly and enough veggies to go around. My daughter ordered the potatoes and it came with a lovely side of dill sauce. My husband got those as well and added the garlic ciabatta. I ordered the Tijuana Tortada and it was fantastic. I took the side salad instead of chips and was in love with the yummy dressing. Our eyes were large at the dessert display. We took a cookie, and four slices of linzer torte to go. Desserts did not disappoint either. I was pretty happy to find an all vegan restaurant. I definitely had higher expectations based on past reviews. They weren't super friendly or welcoming when we first arrived (I had 4 teenaged boys with me). The service got better after we were served. I ordered the tasty tuna sandwich- which was a ball of chickpeas and maybe potatoes with pita on the side. It was good- if I ordered potato salad- but I didn't! My husband had the chicken finger sandwich and soup. It was ok too- I am pretty sure the chicken fingers were Gardein- which I like- in a pinch- at home. The boys ordered pancakes- which are easily made vegan- and they were good. I think the place is good, because there are no other real vegan options, but overall, a little disappointing for someone who has had really good vegan food. read more

This is my favorite vegan restaurant in Wisconsin!!! While I miss them being in the Dells, their new location in Baraboo is adorable! The place is clean with a bright cheerful and energetic environment. The staff is always friendly and helpful! I'm not a vegetarian, but I always love eating her and I never miss the meat. My favorite is the hummus platter- it's smooth, creamy and full of flavor; it's a must try item on their menu! This last time I tried the stir fry and it was delicious! It was very flavorful without having too much sauce. The Seitan in the dish actually tasted like meat which was really surprising. I would be careful though if you are with someone with a gluten allergy or sensitivity, this is not the meat replacement for you. Next time you are in the area go check it out for yourself! Ok first thing's first. There is no cheese at the Cheeze Factory. In fact, there are no animal products whatsoever. All of the meat dishes (chicken, burgers, fisch) are actually meat substitute products. That being said, the food is actually quite good. We had the veggie flatbread and the gnocchi romano. The flatbread was deliciously grilled with a zesty hummus spread and good selection of grilled veggies. The gnocchi was well cooked with a nice tomato sauce. Though the soy based Romano left a bit to be desired. The service is very polite and prompt. The decore is fitting for a Northwoods diner with lots of woods and a counter. The appearance gives no clue of the vegan disposition inside. Great food, but now onward to find a good bacon cheeseburger. read more

Lovely place! Owner was very welcoming and friendly. My son had the delicious and yes it was! My daughter had the taco salad and said it was incredible. My hubs had the tortada and for a guy who doesn't like beans? The plate was completely clean! I had the portobello sandwich and it was totally delish. My favorite was actually the dressing that came on the side salad- dang that was good! Next time I go (and there will be a next time) I'm going to get a full sized salad just for that dressing. Visited the Cheese Factory again on our annual Dells trip, this time for dinner. After pleading and prying with my sister to try their interesting vegetarian dinner fare, the food did not let us down, but the horrible service was a bit of a dissapointment. Even a staunch meat eater can find something they'll probably enjoy here. My sister loved her mushroom stroganoff. I loved the fresh take on a Malaysian Coconut Curry, full of vegetables, slightly spicy without being too heavy. My son loved the spinach ravioli with artichoke and mascarpone. Served on a gorgonzola cream sauce with dried cranberries and walnuts, the floor manager said this was his favorite dish! Even our picky eater loved the freshly grated parmesan on her butter noodles. Dessert was really the star of the night. The NY Cheesecake, the raspberry princess cake, and the Cloud 9 mousse was incredible. White mousse with a piece of chocolate cake in the middle, topped with a white chocolate "9" served on top of a raspberry drizzle that looked like an exploding sun. This was a work of art! (That we devoured.) Now, back to the service. After being seated we sat for ten minutes without even a greeting from our server, and it wasn't particularly busy yet. The manager had to tell our server she was assigned to our table, and it seemed every step of our meal was delayed by her inattention. Oddly enough, I heard a nearby table who had a change of server mid-meal and wasn't even told. Even though the management is incredibly nice, I think they need to step it up and be more mindful of having staff provide good service along with their incredible food. read more

The vegetables in the stir fry still had a nice crunch and the Bangalore Bowl had so many delicious flavors that perfectly balanced each other. Save space for dessert. Everything looks delicious in the "twirling tower of dessert temptation". I had the Linzer Torte, a la mode, worth the calories. It was like Christmas on a plate. The staff are friendly and took time to answer questions and provide menu clarifications. When my friends and I heard about this place's existence, we made a point of visiting for lunch. The service was great, food came out super fast, and it was incredibly flavorful and filling. Their rattlesnake tofu and beer cheese soup are spot on. I fell in love with the seitan Reuben and could eat it every day. They have an extensive dessert menu, too and a rotating case of them to tempt you. Drive, Run, Walk, Fly - do whatever you have to do to get out of the Dells and into Baraboo to eat at this restaurant. Two of us are vegan, one is a vegetarian, so we were duty bound to try as many things on the menu as possible. It Was All Great. Not a subpar item in the bunch. We had an appetizer, entrees, drinks, and dessert. Hearty portions, flavorful, lip-smacking goodness, friendly service, and mid-range prices that make this well worth visiting again and again. In March 2023 I visited this restaurant whilw vacationing in Wisconsin Dells. I had recently went vegan and needed somewhere to eat. The food was amazing! I left a review on Google last year. I was in Wisconsin this past weekend and stopped by the Cheesze Factory again. I was met by a very friendly and pleasant waiter named Dav. I started with the hummus and pita bread. It was absolutely delicious. For my entrée I ordered the portobello burger with homemade mayo pesto sauce. I had it last year, so I knew it would be delicious. It was still just as amazing as it was last year, the pesto sauce is incredible. My hotel was 20 minutes away from the restaurant so I ordered something to go for the evening. I ordered the tuna Sandwich on pita bread. I ate it that evening and it was absolutely delicious. That was my first time trying chick pea tuna. whenever I visit the restaurant, the staff is super nice, and I have a pleasant experience, the ambience, the classical music, the cleanliness of the restaurant, and friendliness of the staff makes the experience a 10 out of 10. So far this is been the only vegan restaurant that I found near the Wisconsin Dells area. My family and I visit the dells at least three times per year. I will definitely continue to frequent this restaurant. I wish they had one in Chicago. Hands-down this is among some of the best vegan food I've ever had! read more
