The location suited us very nicely. There is a nice grocery store nearby as well as a few restaurants (some casual, some less casual) within walking distance. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully plated. The room itself was fun and cute. The decor felt cozy and a bit.... Classic? But bathroom facilities were updated. A large jacuzzi tub was a really nice feature - though we also had a lovely but tiny shower.... Try not to drop the soap because there's no room to bend over for it! As we find ourselves in Victoria a few times a year, we would definitely consider this b&b again in the future.

It was hot during our stay so we didn't get to try the fireplace or the jacuzzi tub but I'm betting they would be an excellent romantic touch to the evening. Breakfast each day was fantastic. We had pancakes, fried eggs and the eggs florentine. The cheese sauce on the florentine was phenomenal. The muffins that are served each day are not to be missed. The strong coffee is a good jolt to get you out the door & enjoying the gorgeous city! Would highly recommend this place if you're staying in Victoria for a couple days.

However, in choosing a place to overnight on my way home from Quadra Island, BC, I found Beacon Inn. It is a lovely, Edwardian style inn built in 2000 with modern finishes. It is the area's only Canada Select 5-Star accommodation. The Victoria BC airport is actually in Sidney, up the peninsula, which is a very pretty small town on the sea. Communication ~ all done via email, perfect and timely Rate ~ fair for my choice of room (third floor, no elevator) @ $166 with all taxes Location ~ just outside the commercial area of Sidney and it is easy to find Service ~ they offer an evening sherry in the lobby along with tea and coffee station, lemon water and snacks in the dining room. There is a binder of menus in the lobby. Room ~ stunning in decor: a high bed, flat screen TV, free Wifi, electric FP, windows that open for a breeze, portable air exchanger and a large bath with spa soaking tub, glass shower and full array of Nourish bath products. (see photo) Food ~ I am certain that their "gourmet" breakfast was just that, but my flight to Seattle left at 9 am and I had to return a rental car. They offer two seatings - 8:00 am and 9:15 am - neither of which I could enjoy given my schedule. I was pleased to take their Grab N Go from the fridge, described as "scrumptious." But it consisted of only a Red Delicious apple, a tiny piece of cheddar cheese, a chocolate candy, a tiny raisin muffin and a juice box. I was disappointed since part of the price of a room includes breakfast and this was less than comparable. The kitchen did not even offer a styro or other take-away cup for coffee. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. I would highly recommend this inn if you are staying near the airport or visiting Victoria, just 30 minutes away. There are a few tourist sites within an easy drive of Sidney as well.

I usually like to book our stays with hotel brands we know but we thought we would try something different on this vacation. The neighborhood where it's located is very charming and a very short walk to Craigdarroch Castle and the Government House . The staff were very hospitable and the breakfast was delicious. We will visit again in the summer and look forward to seeing everything in bloom.

Nothing special but was very filling. The only complaint I have is the management team hovered while we were eating breakfast. I would have given them four stars if the manager would have been apologetic for making us wait to check in. Would I stay there again? Probably not.

My husband and I spent four nights here (actually we had only reserved three nights, but I couldn't stand to leave so soon. We were very lucky to be able to book a fourth night in our Persia room). I am a vegan, and the fact that they are happy to accommodate special diets was the first thing that drew me to this place. I actually did a Google search for "vegan bed and breakfast Victoria B.C." and that was how I discovered this gem. Danuisa and Wanja were so wonderful and friendly. One or both of them greeted us every morning with a smile. I don't know how they did everything they did. I swear they were like ninjas...while we ate breakfast our bed was always made, trash was emptied, and everything was tidied. When we left in the evenings, even if for just 20 minutes, we'd come back to a turned-down bed with chocolates and a light on in our room. This was impressive to me! I loved the complimentary Amarone della Valpolicella in the library. Speaking of the library, wow! What a fun place to hang out! I can't think of one negative thing to say about this place. Perhaps that's why I was also unable to find anything less than a five-star review of it while doing my research beforehand. "Exquisite" really is the best word to describe this place. Diana and Alex are wonderful and make you feel right at home the moment you ring the doorbell to check in. Diana is the reason we had such a wonderful time exploring Victoria. Every suggestion she had was the most wonderful, from taking a water taxi to various locations, to restaurant suggestions, to what time of day was the best to visit certain places. Breakfast was elegant and wonderful and each of the 4 courses was served with such class. The coffee was delicious. My favourite thing to do was meander out into the garden after breakfast and read in the quiet morning light with bumble bees collecting pollen peacefully right next to me. We stayed in the Alexandria room, and the double soaker bathtub, the Victorian reading nook, the Persian rugs, and the soft light were among the 100 reasons I want to make this a yearly place to visit.

It was delicious and beautiful. A lot of love and effort is put into this. Sylvia's scones are phenomenal. If she opened up a bakery I would buy all her scones and loaves. The bathroom is a nice size with a big tub. So why the three stars? There is a radiator in the room but ours didn't work well and would heat up and did not stay hot. We were cold. If you are on the first floor please note that sound travels. you can really hear any movement above you and you can hear conversations very well outside your room which didn't make me feel particularly comfortable since I'm sure even just is talking normally can be heard by others as well. Didn't feel amazing from a privacy perspective. When you book it says there is daily housekeeping. There's no daily housekeeping. We were asked if anything was missing from our room by the breakfast server but nothing else. If you're expecting your trash to be emptied or bed to be made that did not happen our whole stay. Location: not really walkable to the downtown area or most things in Victoria. A couple other small things that I wouldn't even mention if the above two were no issue: The bed was okay although not super comfortable in my opinion. The outlets are really inconvenient and there aren't many. They mention there is tea, hot chocolate, and coffee. There's no hot chocolate and no creamer in your room if you want some later. I do think this place could be good for others but it was not the right fit for us. For a bed and breakfast the room just wasn't super comfortable for us to want to spend time there.
