At Colette's you will get a true B&B experience--from the pristine and romantic suites to the full gourmet breakfasts to all the added touches. I can't say it enough, this is one inn you dont want to skip if you're even on the Olympic Peninsula. and wonderful staff will have you feeling like a VIP. The common area is beautifully and stylishly furnished. They will supply you with clean, warm blankets to snuggle up to as you sit by the fire pit for Happy hour, which takes place every afternoon. The breakfasts are very tasty, and it's clear that great pride goes into their preparation and presentation! And might I say the garden area overlooking the sea is a slice of paradise. The grounds are lush and private enough that you're not running into other guests very often. The hubby and I loved the Lavender suite, which has a great view of the garden and sea. The bath was spacious and upscale as well. If you need ideas and suggestions for how to explore Olympic National Park, just ask. You won't be disappointed with the recommendations you receive. Truly beautiful place, right on the water. The landscaping is exquisite, and the rooms are very comfortable. The service was great as well. Would have gotten 5 stars except for the following; 1. Each time you come or go you have to get out of your car and manually open/close the gate. For what they charge for rooms they should have an electric gate and give people the code. 2. Breakfast is only served at 9AM, and often you want to get out early to beat the crowds to hiking/scenic places. 3. The ice machine has been broken for quite some time, so if you want ice later in the evening you need to hope the house manager is around. Otherwise it is a wonderful place to stay. read more

This place is a bit expensive but worth it if you can afford it. It has great big whirlpool tubs and eagles that swoop back and forth over the backyard of the property with views north to Canada and if you stand in the left corner you can see Mt Baker. Exceptional bed and breakfast! My husband and I spent 2 nights at Colette's and enjoyed every minute of it. The building is surrounded by beautiful gardens. We couldn't wait to partake their incredible gourmet breakfast every morning. I was told one of their recipes was published in Sunset magazine. We'd fun getting to know other guests during their daily happy hour, drinking wine, and eating hors d'oeuvres. Cristy, Cindy and Mitch were wonderful. They're warm, friendly and helpful. They're informative, responded patiently to all my questions, and fixed any issues promptly. They gave us and other guests great restaurant recommendations and made difficult to get reservations for us. I was impressed by their excellent service. We'd a beautiful view from our gorgeous "Architectural Digest designed" suite. It's so relaxing sitting on the couch, looking out from our window, and watching the eagles flying back and forth to their nest. I'd hope to catch a glimpse of a whale while sitting on one of their front lawn adirondack chairs. Alas, I didn't see one. We can't wait to return for another stay. My husband and I came here just to rent their bikes for a few hours, and had a wonderful experience! Brian made the rental so easy for us and he aquainted us with the bikes in full before we began our journey to downtown Port Angeles. It's been a few years since I visited Sequim. Ended up staying at Colette's again because I know I'd get a 5-star treatment like the last time. And indeed it was a treat. The new inn-keepers Karen and Richard are AWESOME! Not only are they great conversationalists, Richard for a long time co-owned some fancy restaurant in the Midwest and have recently taken up the job of chef at Colette's. The 3-course breakfast he made us was FIVE STAR! It started out with an appetizing arugula-orange salad. The main course was a complex and savory strudel. The feast ended with a yummy pecan pie. My gal and I couldn't have been happier. We stayed at the Cedar Suite. King size bed, fireplace, romantic music in the CD changer, beautiful view of the garden and Strait of Juan de Fuca, and... a jacuzzi in the bathroom that too has the view of the garden and the Strait. :))) You won't regret staying here for your next romantic get-away. read more

We had an AMAZING stay at Colette's! If you are debating on which bed and breakfast to stay at in the area - make no mistake - THIS IS THE ONE. All the inn keepers and staff are wonderful, kind and friendly. Breakfast is delicious and gourmet - unlike any other b&b we have stayed at before. They offer one hearty/healthy option and one sweet/griddle style breakfast to choose from. My boyfriend and I got one of each breakfast each day (so 6 total breakfasts) and EVERY one of them was DELICIOUS. They also provide "happy hour" from 5-6 with little appetizers and wine, which was also fantastic and delicious and such a nice touch! For COVID, they bring it your room for you. They take care to clean and sanitize everything and make you feel safe during this time. They even offered to bring breakfast to our room as well but we opted to dine in and enjoy the beautiful great room. One thing that surprised me was that all the rooms have their own private entrance, which made it feel like a romantic retreat on our own while still having the hospitality of a bed and breakfast. Amber, Brian, Cody and Christy were all very helpful and kind with plenty of recommendations for things to do in the area and very accommodating - when I got blisters they offered bandaids, when I fell in the ocean they let me use their dryer. All of them are very kind and friendly people. We stayed in the Lavendar Suite and were blown away by how beautiful, comfortable and spacious the rooms were. I don't think the pictures even do them justice. The bathtub in the lavender suite is HUGE and can easily fit two full sized people, which I was surprised by. We spent nearly every night in the tub, it was a huge perk of the room (although we never figured out how to work the jets). The bedding is super soft and comfortable, the bed large and slightly firm. We were in our own little slice of heaven here. The grounds are also beautiful. We came during the winter but I can only imagine how gorgeous the gardens are in the spring and summer time! Thank you guys so much for making our stay so lovely! read more

The grounds of this place is what I imagine a park in heaven to look like.. I'm not religious but I guess I do think I'll eventually make it to heaven.. I hope.. pray for me, anyway enough about me. Dae and Clif are incredible. The breakfast is amazing and so unique not eggs and pancakes type deal, one of the best breakfasts I've had. The grounds are so peaceful and gorgeous. I hate being alone and I would come to this place by myself.. in fact I'm going to make it a point to come back. The jacuzzi in the room is huge. When my friend wanted to stay overnight in the area I was not having it because I figured we would have to stay in some creepy or old place but I am so glad we did this. I am going to include the highlights of our stay in my review, but before I go on, Colette's is amazing. And I should say that Karen and Richard are the best! We stayed last week and was lucky enough to be able to get our room one more night in lieu of going to BC. The FOOD: Richard is a trained chef and it shows. He serves a three course breakfast that is to die for. Here is a sample: Blueberry blintzes, open face crepes with brie and figs, pastry with eggs, crab meet with egg and Holandaise sauce. Key Lime pie with hot chili pepper, cream cheese and raspberry filling, fruit with coconut and lavender, tarts galore. It goes on and on. The food is filling. Our goal was to get back to the B&B by 5pm for wine and snacks. Richard makes cookies every day and for the 5pm to whenever he puts together a feast for the eyes and mouth. Chicken meatballs with a sweet sauce, dumplings, 5 types of homemade spreads, crab and toast points, brie in pastry with fruit...all good stuff. Wine wine wine....all of the wine was great. The ROOM: We staying in the second room from the right of the main room. Our view was of the water, eagles and wonderful sky. It was quiet and each room has a bathtub big enough for 2+ with a bubble effect. They keep the rooms super clean and there is a huge (500) selection of DVD's to play on your room television. Flat screens are coming as per Karen but the tubes were fine. Fresh flowers in your room every couple of days. Chocolates on the pillows and fluffy towels abound. Richard and Karen: They work every day and don't show an ounce of wear. Karen will set up your dinner reservations, make great conversation and share her mid-night pizza with you. She is a giver as is Richard. We would invite them to host any event we ever had. They are super professional and very kind. We did not want to leave and if you plan on staying in the area, go to Colettes! PS. The nearby restaurants are medium to poor. There is a good pho place on 101 and Frugal hamburger is good and cheap. Dockside sucked! Hurricaine ridge, the spit, and Cresent lake are awesome and worth the visit. They are getting Wi-Fi but who the hell wants internet with views like this. Karen will let you use her Laptop if you are that desperate and yes, I was. And we had a great time with the other guests (10 max) spending one night by the out door fireplace talking to a couple from Chicago. All well informed and interesting people. read more

Sweeping views greet you, Breakfast delight, garden joy. A weekend of bliss. My partner and I just came back from several days at Colette's and there are so many positive things to say! One of the first things that will take your breath away is the floor to ceiling view of the Juan de Fuca Strait in the grand room. If you think this is the only place you will catch such spectacular views, you are wrong!! Most, if not all, the rooms have a similarly large and beautiful view of the water! We stayed in the Cedar room, which was located in a separate building than the main house. This room had one of the best hot tubs I have ever been in, allowing comfortable side-by-side enjoyment while looking out a window that overlooks the water. The bedroom is large and comfortable, the bed faces another wall of windows overlooking the water. We had a private little deck to sit outside and enjoy the view. We were extra lucky in that a bald eagle made its home atop a nearby tree so we heard its cry and saw its majestic wingspan on several occasions. And the garden! WOW! I know nothing about flowers and trees and to say that I am not a connoisseur is an understatement. So for the flowers and trees to capture my attention throughout the weekend was quite a feat --- there are different colors, textures, shapes all around and as a testament to how fantastic their landscaping is, they are featured in a June 2011 gardening magazine, which we had the pleasure of flipping through. And of course....the breakfast. Ooooh......yum. Karen and Richard, the innkeepers know how to cook. My mouth is salivating as I think about the different breakfast delights that they whipped up for us. They were also friendly without being intrusive, helpful, knowledgeable, and well connected to the communities close by (Port Angeles, Sequim). They were able to direct us to some great restaurants for dinner; we are glad we took their recommendations! I only wish they served dinner (which we asked and found out they can't actually do it according to WA regulations - bummer because we would eat there day and night!) and it would be nice to have the option of getting breakfast in one's room. Granted, we didn't ask but it also didn't seem like that was something that was offered. This is a great B&B to relax and really getaway. What a place to come back to after a day of hiking and exploring the Olympic Peninsula. read more

Wow, just wow! This place is spectacular. The view, grounds, and private suites are all absolutely impeccable. If you are looking for a dreamy romantic getaway or just a nice relaxing spot, look no further. I think all the suites have huge picture windows overlooking the lovely garden, bluff, and ocean below, but you can ask to be sure. The rooms are extra comfy, cozy, and pretty big too. Ours had a SUPER comfy king size bed, awesome reading sofa, flat screen TV and remote control fireplace. The real treat though was the bathroom, which had a HUGE two person soaking tub with jets, plus, a separate shower. There were also several "little things" that the caretakers provided to make our stay extra special; homemade cookies in the room, big fluffy robes, bath salts for the show, reception happy hour with wine and snacks - I honestly couldn't have asked for anything more. This was my first bed and breakfast experience, and it certainly will not be my last. For our recent trip to the Pacific Northwest, we stayed in a four-star hotel in Seattle. I'll be writing another review for that place, but suffice it to say that four-star isn't exactly what it means anymore. We decided to take the ferry to Bainbridge Island and do some hiking in the Olympic National Park. We arrived at Colettes in the late afternoon, thankfully with plenty of sunlight to enjoy the absolutely beautiful flower gardens, which rival botanical gardens I've been to (the innkeepers told me it was featured on the cover of a national Gardening magazine recently). The innkeepers, Karen and Richard, were perfect. They were super friendly, but once they greeted us and gave us a quick tour of the place, they left us to enjoy everything with complete privacy. The back of the house overlooks the Juan de Fuca Strait, where you can watch the ships and see the lights of Victoria way back. Amazingly, there was even a bald eagle's nest on a tall tree on the property. We caught the eagles at feeding time--there was a mother and father bald eagle both feeding a brown baby eagle. The one thing that struck me is that absolutely no detail went unnoticed. The room has two sources of heat--a super-cozy gas fireplace and a traditional heating vent. They leave a pair of binoculars and an Audobon bird-watching guide. They leave a chocolate on your pillow. They put fresh-cut lilacs on the dresser, and even a flower on the jaccuzi and the bathroom tissue. The bathroom was amazingly clean, ten thousand times cleaner than the supposed four-star hotels in the City. The bed was huge and comfortable. Our room overlooked the Strait, so we woke up to a beautiful view of the water. The "breakfast" part deserves its own paragraph. In addition to being innkeepers, it turns out Richard and Karen are gourmet chefs. We had a three-course meal including apple crepes, an amazing eggs benedict-like dish, and a peach tart. Looking at previous reviews, I get the feeling that no two breakfasts are the same. When I was searching the Web for the best bed and breakfasts in the Port Angeles area, there are a lot of choices, all of which seemed to have rave reviews. I was actually a little disappointed when I didn't get my first choice, the one that has a lot more reviews. But this "hidden gem" could not possibly have been a more wonderful experience. read more

Stayed here again! About the best hotel room we have ever stayed in. The grounds were still amazing, like being in the middle of an idyllic garden of eden set. They serve generous amounts of refreshments as well. The bed was phenominal, the bathroom looks like a custom mansion bathroom. The view of the ocean was like a movie screen. Colettes was everything I hoped for and so much more. We have stayed at several select registry bed and breakfasts and have never been so impressed. We stayed in the Spruce Suite, which is a very large room. Many b&bs have smaller rooms, this room was very spacious and every detail was gorgeous. The bed was supremely comfortable, the views of the grounds and ocean were great. The location was a little farther from town than we realized, about 15 minutes. The spa tub was easily large enough for two. Lastly, the breakfasts were great (crepes, polenta, poached pears, fruit salad) and the hosts were incredibly friendly and accommodating without being at all overbearing. Colette's is a must if you are traveling to the Pacific northwest! The home and grounds are absolutely stunning and the staff is very caring. They leave no detail out. The second you walk up you will feel like you are home. And the food- I can't even describe how delicious our daily breakfast was. My husband and I are so disappointed with how this last weekend turned out. I called a month ago to make a reservation and spoke with Clif- told him I had a gift certificate from several years ago, was it still good, etc. He assured me it was fine, took all of my information- phone number, home address, email address. I tried to give him my credit card info to make sure to hold it and once again he assured me it was fine, if we didn't show up the gift certificate would become void. We took two ferries and traveled most of the day to show up and have Clif not able to find our reservation. When I gave him our email address he proceeded to print out a record of two emails he had supposedly sent me. The first one was a few days after I called, saying he couldn't find record of the gift certificate and to call him. The second one was a few days after that stating he was giving our room away since I hadn't responded. No phone call! His emails went into my junk mail so I had no idea we had no place to stay. He was very sheepishly sorry but nothing he could do for us but put us up in his friends B&B for $279 a night-up in the hills with no ocean view. EVERYTHING else in Port Angeles/Sequim/Port Townsend that wasn't a fleabag motel was completely booked for the Jefferson County Fair. We waited through two ferries in Port Townsend and went home. It looked like a beautiful place and we were really looking forward to a romantic (already paid for at an auction) getaway. Clif needs to learn some PR and management skills- mistakes happen but make it right. Don't send us off with a "sorry, hope you come back some time". Why would we? And if there's an issue CALL the person- don't email. Everyone has junk filters on their email. read more

My sweetheart and I stayed at Colette's B&B for her birthday and it was excellent! The gardens (10 acres) were beautifully arranged and planted. Even in late fall, when we went, there were many blossoms to behold. The rooms were very large and quite comfortable. And breakfast every morning was both visually attractive and scrumptious! Located just a few miles west of Sequim, Colettes is close to many good hiking trails and to a large assortment of fine restaurants. Though a bit pricy, I would highly recommend staying here. read more

Hands down the best. My partner and I have been here twice for our anniversary and plan on coming here many more times. Everything about this place makes you feel welcome, comfortable and relaxed. The view from all the rooms is spectacular: gorgeous gardens and the water. Our room was large, clean, and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was huge and lovely. Comfy king bed. We really enjoyed the 5 pm appetizers and wine, which allowed us to enjoy the grounds. Breakfast was a bit slow - be prepared to be patient. Although it was less elaborate than breakfasts at similar B&B's, it was healthy, delicious, and used local ingrediants. I would recommend this place if you are in the area. My husband and I spent our wedding night here. We chose the Lavender Room, and it couldn't have been more perfect! We were so impressed with the kindness of our hosts, the comfort and quality of the amenities, and the beauty of the view and grounds. The owner graciously waited up for us to let us in to our room at 9 PM and we immediately sank into the luxurious jet bath. Both the bath and the bedroom were warmed by a two -sided fireplace and were very spacious. Our bed was quite comfortable and drinks and snacks were provided in a mini fridge. When we woke we were delighted by our ocean view; we hadn't anticipated it due to the fact we arrived in the dark! The gardens are gorgeous, though this was early May so they may have been at their peak. We joined several other guests at a lovely communal breakfast table served by our hosts and ate a scrumptious breakfast of berries and creme fraiche, omelettes, sausage, asparagus, toast, among other foods. The company was pleasant, all couples in later life and added to our enjoyment of our stay. We were encouraged to wander the grounds as long as we liked, which we did. I was sorry to leave! read more
