Great little produce market at McNab and 18th aka Cypress Road. They have your standard produce, but also cool special items and prepared goodies, like soups and breads. Really cute shop! I wanted to get some juicing vegetables, the selection was not great but everything that was there was very good quality. The cost was average, and they had alot of specialty items like homemade jams, soups and salads. I got the tomato basil soup and it was delicious. The woman at the counter didn't say hello when I walked in but she was extremely nice when I checked out. I thought it was an adorable ship and worth my visit. I recommend trying it out read more

This small fruit stand / convenience store in Pompano, just north of the Fort Lauderdale city line is in a little strip mall, next to a gas station. They have very nice selection of fruits, chips, dips and refrigerated items. Many of their offerings are high end and of very good quality. The prices are a bit high compared to a grocery store, but again, the quality is very high. Sometimes you can find some things that you could not find anywhere else like their mahi mahi or smoked salmon dip...they are very good... Their freshly squeezed OJ is also very good (about $5 for a quart). Check it out. Hours are limited, so be mindful of that. read more

This small produce place has been here for some time -- over 15 years ... so I was surprised that I hadn't done a review of it before. It's tucked away off cypress (18th) on McNab -- the portion that ends at the tracks. So it's not the easiest to find unless you know the area. It's right next to a pizza place that has changed its name recently to Pie-Zano's. I always wondered if there was religious connection from their store name... and there are a couple of "positive thinking" signs around. But I've never asked. It wouldn't make any difference either way. They have a little bit of everything including organic produce. Plus some home made soups and the like. Everything is clean and nicely displayed inside. Some items are reasonable and some are expensive -- you have to know your prices. But all items look fresh and gorgeous. The tomatoes are so red you'll think they're painted. The lemons bright yellow. On the counter this time, they had a couple types of California oranges cut up to try. One was so good (it looked almost like a blood orange) that I actually bought one orange for $1! I found plum tomatoes, fresh dill, that orange, some apples, parsnips, and a couple other items. If you're in the neighborhood, stop on by....and "buy" their fruits (and veggies). read more

By Their Fruits (thought it should say "Buy" but it doesn't) is a small somewhat of a hole in the wall retail produce establishment that has been there since 2001. But by my use of the terms small or hole in the wall doesn't mean it isn't any good. To the contrary, it's great. They have a wide ranging selection with some of the best displays of produce I've ever come across, but best of all, it's all fresh, tasty and reasonably price. Another plus is the friendly service and the fact that they are more than willing to let you sample a slice of peach or whatever before you purchase. I can assure you that the quality of what you'll find here is far way and again better than what you'll find at a Publix or a Winn Dixie as By Their Fruit produce doesn't sit around in a warehouse but is shipped directly into them three to four times a week. The tomato display alone is one of the biggest best laid out around and they also have in house hummus, juices and salsas. They have red leaf lettuce; iceberg lettuce ; spaghetti squash; fresh garlic and onions; herbs; cauliflower; spinach; coffee; and eggs. More expensive than Publix - but quality is superior. Parking is convenient. She helped me with my packages. I made tomato; fresh mozzarella; and basil pesto lunch that tasted restaurant quality. Also their tomato basil soup is delicious and I even add some gnocchi, it's a great base for adding anything. This place is like Chick-fil-a. Closed on Sundays...and of course, like Chick-fil-a, it's the only thing you want to be opened on a Sunday! I live two minutes walking from this gem of a store and all I want is their medium salsa! They have the best, local, fruit and veg around, the lady that runs the place is delightful, and did I mention the homemade salsa? There are two Publix locations less than a two minutes drive from this store, but why bother?? This place is the BEST!!! We've been coming here on and off since the store opened. First off, the produce stocked is seasonal and that's a plus, not only for pricing but for quality. The tomatoes actually taste like tomatoes - and yes they use up the 'non-pretty' stuff for sauces, soups, spreads, etc. The current variety of soups (owner's daughter makes them) is awesome. And we love the fact that we can stock up for the week without letting stuff spoil. Or just stop in on the way home from work and pick up a couple of things for dinner prep.
