Average quality, high prices. Their old location was bomb and this one is a dud. In my humble opinion, the pompano store rocked. 80% of their items were fair priced and 20% were great bargains! They always encouraged me to come back, and I did. Quality is OK day-of. Most of it needs to be eaten quickly. For instance their watermelon or mangoes wont be good after a week. That's fine but $5.99/small melon or $1/mango are almost as bad as publix. Not quite but almost. Where's the deals? If its expensive, Where's the high quality? I respect their game and wish them luck but sadly its a closed chapter for me. Its not that im not going to return out of spite, but I wont be returning simply because there's no point to. This review is for the only location open now (on Federal Hwy) while the rest were for the previous locations. In comparison this location is much smaller. While items are neatly organized and pretty well stocked, it's more like a regular priced store or farmer's market than its original iteration of the $.99 produce spot. Staff at checkout were very polite and friendly. Parking is hit or miss on both sides of the building but can get a little messy/muddy if it rained. Maybe if I lived closer it would be in the rotation but as it stands, for the distance to size/value, it's not worth it for me. read more

More like a 2.5 today. It's sad because I really liked shopping here. I don't know what happened to the store. They used to have beautiful fresh fruits and vegetables, a nice freezer section. I even bought a tomato tree here once. I don't come often since it's not close, but every once in a while when I'm going to Costco, I'll just drive down a little bit further and stop in and pick up some things. I was so disappointed today. They've gotten rid of 99% of freezer section and they have the old cases for sale, so that's the end of that. Today they had long tables of garbage thrown on top and I'm not quite sure what it was, but people were digging through like it was some flea market garage sale. The entire store has changed and in my opinion not for the better. I was able to pick up a couple of avocados at 3 for a $1, a bag of potatoes so I can make mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving, some tomatoes, and that's about it. I did notice that they had a table full of hot pickle tomatoes that expired 9/20/2025 so that did it for me. I don't understand why you would put out food no matter what price it is, after the expiration date. The other thing that bothered me was the 4% fee for credit card. I know as a fact, if you have the right credit card processing you pay 1.9%. They also had a tip jar at the check out...for what... so the salaried employee can slide your purchases across a scanner and you can put the items in the bags you bring. No one packs your bags here and they don't even have plastic or paper bags. With all the fees, the prices aren't any less than TJs or Aldi. The 99 Cent Farmer's Market in Pompano blew me away with its gorgeous fruit selection, super fresh herbs, and all kinds of miscellaneous goodies -- all at unbelievably low prices. What a great spot for grabbing fresh produce and discount kitchen staples. Depending on what's in season, you can find most everything you need for your weekly produce and cooking trip. Everyone is very helpful and willing to direct you through their large selection. There is even a small cafe/lunch/beverage area in the back where you can grab a bite to eat or a chilled drink to enjoy while you shop. I visited this market on a Saturday and they had 50% off in all their products so it was super crowded. I spent about an hour in line to pay but it was worth the wait since they had really good deals not only for fruits and veggies but also for other good quality products like cereals and sauces. Don't expect to find organic produce but their conventional fruits and veggies were good quality or at least the same as any other grocery store. This place has everything! If you're looking for fresh produce that's priced right, you're in the right spot. We have gotten a grocery cart full of fresh fruits and veggies for a fraction of what it would have cost at Publix or even Aldi. In this new location, there's also a deli and a juice bar. Many things were half of what I usually pay in a supermarket. Everything looked fresh. The staff was lovely. It was pretty bright and a large warehouse where it appears, the odd or unsold items go to get a second chance at life. I ended up recommending this place to some friends but after my experience with how quickly the food spoiled, I wasn't sure. Jury is still out. I'm not sure how I found out about this place. I'm pretty sure it wasn't through Yelp. It might have been through IG. I watched a video made by John from http://www.okraw.com/ on YouTube, and he got me excited about this place. I was also hoping to pick up some dragonfruits, mangos, and other tropical fruits, and since I was in S FL, I thought the quality would be good. We arrived shortly after they first opened around 10 am on Labor Day since it read that their lines get very long. There were no lines, and it wasn't that crowded. Several people compare this place to Aldi, which I'm a fan of. Most of the items cost around the same or cheaper. I would much rather pay the Aldi prices since I found that the produce I purchased had a very short shelf life. I bought several large avocados. Within a few days, they started going bad. Same with the papaya. In fact, I had to toss it in the garbage today because the inside and outside were getting moldy. I bought a pack of cookies, which tasted terrible and chucked the entire thing in the garbage. There is a refrigerator section that had similar products as the nonfrigerator section, and I found that the dragonfruit sizes in the refrigerator section were larger. Flavorwise, I wasn't impressed with them. Watermelons usually have a long shelf life compared to other fruits, but they're also starting to go bad. So what did I like? The Mandarin oranges were sweet and juicy. I wished I had bought more than 3. The eggs were fine and were $0.99/dozen. The refrigerated fresh orange juice was tasty. The chayote still looks fresh almost a week later. Plantains. I think it's hard for them to go bad; the darker the peels, the sweeter they'll be. Lol. The checkout line was a bit of a cluster, and I feel like the checkout process should be modified. There was a worker that was directing certain customers to go to the front towards the left register. I don't know why they got the priority when others had to wait their turn. It seems like it would be more efficient if they had a number system that tells customers what register is open (similar to TJ Maxx) and rope things off so there's a separate entrance and exit. I think if you're planning to consume the produce in a day or two, it might be worth it. Their social media shows they have free BBQ events, so they do give back to the community. I have been a dedicated Aldi's shopper for the lowest prices on fruit and vegetables but that changes now. The 99 cent Farmers Market has made me a believer. It has been blowing up on all of my friend's Facebook pages so I had to come and check out them out. You can find the market in the warehouses across from the Festival Flea Market. They have all of the common fruit and vegetables but also exotic too. I picked up cherries for 99 cents a pound. I also bought a watermelon, a cantaloupe, an enormous bag of green beans, a pineapple, and a mini watermelon all for 99 cents each. I am going to make zucchini bread today with the zucchini I bought here. They had eggs for 99 cents! The lychees I bought here are some of the juiciest and sweetest I have ever eaten. Everything exceeded my expectations. Usually when you shop at discount produce stores they are smelly and dirty and the produce is past its prime. This store is the complete opposite. It is so clean and it even has cute displays. The cold room is a breathe of fresh air on a Florida summer day. Not only do they have fruit and vegetables but they also sell live herbs, plants, sauces, spices, cookies, and condiments. Just remember to bring your own bags or purchase theirs. This place is a newly opened produce market. It's not a fancy store but is in a warehouse district. Don't follow the address on google. It takes you to the wrong spot. They had lots of items -- fruits, veggies, canned goods, pickles, and eggs... even roses. Prices were quite good. Eggs were 99 cents a dozen! Many of the veggies were 99 cents each or a pound. They had limes 10 for 99 cents. Mini watermelons for 99cents; a head of iceberg lettuce was 99 cents. Some things are real bargains and others just quite reasonable. We haven't seen bananas this inexpensive in while. We strolled around and even went inside their "cold" refrigerated section. It's very very cold in there! We got on a long line to pay, but it went very fast considering. The checkout staff is nice. Most everything else is self serve. There are plastic bags through out to group your choices together. However, when I went into the parking lot, there were a lot of uncomfortable people and i did not feel safe even getting out of my car with my wife and children. This store is a hidden gem for vegan frozen groceries! They had Tofurky Roasts for $1.99, PAOW "steak" pieces, also $1.99, Mrs Goldfarb's slices for $2.99, So Delicious dairy-free ice cream sandwiches for $2.99. It was like a treasure hunt, and there are new items weekly! For produce, there isn't much organic, but what I found was good. A huge package of organic ginger was a bit over $3.00, which would have gotten me a couple of small pieces elsewhere. $1.99 for a head of organic romaine. Be sure to check the grocery aisles as well. I stumbled upon this farmer's market on tiktok the weekend of their grand opening. The first time I went which was the weekend after, everything was truly .99 cents. I couldn't believe how little money I spent for the amout of food I had. Produce at that! I could easily spent $100+ for the same items at Publix. When I went back a couple of weeks later, the prices had changed. Now even with the price increase, some items are still cheaper than going to the grocery store. For me because I don't like that close, if I am not getting a bunch of stuff the trip isn't worth it because of the gas I'm wasting for travel. I have seen in the past weeks that prices for some things have gone back to .99 cents and I may make trip up there this weekend and grab a few things as I need to stock up. When going there you definitely need to get there early or be prepared to wait outside because it will be line. However the line does move quick and Doug and his staff makes it as accommodating as possible. They have tents out there for you stand under rain or shine. On the weekends they have (or had) someone outside grilling hot dogs. Oh and Doug puts out nothing but good produce. I remember once I was looking for grapes because there wasn't any out. I went up to him and asked him about it and he said "they didn't look good, so I didn't put them out." We all know some places would still put it out there and try to make a sale. Ever since this place opened its doors, I became a regular customer, visiting almost every week. Being someone who juices frequently, I found the affordable price of $0.99 well worth the 25-minute drive north. I was so impressed by the value I received for such a reasonable cost that I eagerly recommended it to everyone I knew. However, in my recent visits, I couldn't help but notice a significant increase in prices. For instance, paying $3.99 for a mere 6 ounces of blueberries seemed quite steep, especially when I could find 8 ounces at a lower or similar price at ALDI, which is much closer to my home. This is a cross between an Aldi's, farmers market, and a fruits and vegetable garage sale. Super busy on a Saturday. I'd go during the week in the morning. This place is like a free for all. The long bin that keeps the line in place is full of items that are scratch and dent. Sure a box of smashed crackers may be offensive to some, but find 2 boxes and you get them for less than a buck. They used to have better prices. I was there yesterday, and it was 399 for a pineapple and 599 for a watermelon. But beware that the stuff that's really 99 cents (and it's not a lot of it) is old, so it's something that you better be using right away. The blueberries strawberries and potatoes that I got last time were moldy. If not right away then in a couple of days. They sometimes give away stuff that's at or past the expiration date. What else can they do with it except throw it away. Some prices are the same as publix, for example Flora products. I liked it better when it was on sample road. I am out of town and came to Florida to see family and friends. I was astonished at the prices and the quality of the products offered. I thought my local farmers market was a good deal, but this is completely amazing. Not one item was old, fuzzy, molding. Everything was in perfect condition or close to it. The herbs were just wow, wow, wow. Found an organic instant coffee there called Nativa, again, amazing flavor. The only thing I didn't care for was the disorganization of what I will call general merchandise section, not the grocery section, and it didn't seem like people were there for it anyway, but boy whoever was looking through the goods left things in a chaotic mess. The frozen food section was low on supplies, and the prices there were just so-so. If you are feeding large groups of people it is cheaper to buy meat elsewhere in bulk, but for one or two person it would be perfect. They even had a small but fresh section of flowers. Really, the owner needs to advertise a whole lot more. It is well worth making a trip with the money you are going to save on fresh produce alone. read more
