We haven't been here in quite some time ... but it seems they have new (new) owners. They are now open year round and they accept EBT. The place seems a bit cleaner. The gentleman stocking the shelves and manning the counter was very nice. Price wise you still have to know what the "regular" prices are. Some things are comparable to the supermarket and some are less expensive. On the other hand, a few things are more expensive and not necessarily better in quality. We did find some nice onions -- I like that you don't have to buy an entire bag of them -- tomatoes, and limes, plus romaine lettuce. They have new and different items in the cooler and on the shelves. Some of the items are middle eastern -- like pita and hummus or za'atar and sumac spices. It was interesting to browse the shelves, too. There aren't that many independent produce markets left, especially in this area. We'd come back to check them out in the future, if nearby. read more

I passed this and it looked so cute so I went in and it did not disappoint. They had so many spreads, jams, kosher foods, and a good variety of produce! We saw this as we were walking around the place next door and I had to go to the bathroom. We walked in they had a decent selection of Kosher foods. They had a really nice assortment of fresh veggies and fruit. I bought an apple, and husband bought an orange. J & J is the type of place you can't help but stop in, even if you don't need anything. I have been a few times, and come back more often than not for the same reason, it's homey. It has a farmers market feel, yet its smaller than some local convenience stores. I walked in last weekend because I needed tomatoes. I wasn't really in the neighborhood but thought it worth the drive just for the ambiance. I walked it to the cozy place. The smells of fresh produce and the friendly faces that say Hi as you walk in Are already worth the stop in. As happens at farmers markets, I have 6 different items in my basket before I knew it. They had a good price on some spaghetti squash that looked great. I also couldn't help but grab some asparagus and a good looking onion. I had to hustle up to the counter to pay before my basket load turned into a cart load. I walked out with the best of produce, virtually was locally grown. As I sliced into my tomato later in the day I was happy I had made the extra drive to J & J. It was scrumptious. read more

I unfortunately have to give this business a 1 star rating. But I would like to start with what I liked about this location. I've seen it many times in my passing and gladly had a moment to come in for the first time and check it out. When I stepped in and walked around, it was very reminiscent of a fruit and vegetable stand I frequented as a child. The nostalgic memories really brought my some joy. I was quickly reminded that racial profiling still is something I must pay attention to. As I entered and walked around, the woman at the register eyed me down several times and did not speak to me verbally. There were about 5 other customers in the story who visually were different looking than myself, I could hear the woman working asking the other customers about products that caught their eye. Sad to say, this strongly discouraged me from purchasing what I can in to buy - bananas. I can confidently say I will not be coming back to this business, as the customer service made me feel terribly uncomfortable and unwanted. I hope no one else has to experience this. read more

Drove past this place many times and always wanted to go in but never took the time. Today I only needed a few fruits and veggies so I decided to come here. The staff was friendly, everything was easy to find and nicely labeled. Wasn't sure how the pricing would be as everything is going up but I got everything I needed ( about 8 items) for $25. I've been coming here a few times recently. It used to be closed during the summer, but now it's open all year long. The prices are really good, but you have to be careful. My friend and I both purchased fruits/vegetables that went bad quickly. I like that they have a 50% off section for fruits and veggies that are past their prime, I am able to get veggies for my guinea pig. They also have a pretty good selection of Pepperidge Farm bread and rolls packages for 99 cents, that are almost at the expiration date. You can freeze them and they are still great to eat. The workers there are not very friendly, but not rude. So all in all, not a bad place to get fresh fruits and veggies, but there could be some improvements in quality and service. read more

Great small market where you'll always find fresh and affordable vegetables, fruits, and even bread. The staff is cordial and it's usually well stocked. I really like getting my strawberries there. They packets are filled with juicy berries and it's usually less than at Publix. It is a farm to stand store so don't mistake the appearance of the veggies and fruits for lacking in flavor or freshness. It reminds me going of going to the market when we would spend summers in Mexico. It is seasonal, so make sure you check before you go to make sure they are open. read more

I must have driven by this place hundreds of times without stopping. It's easy to miss. The store is set back from the road with parking in front. My friend and fellow Yelper John Z said he goes there all the time and I should give it a try. I know John is a great cook so I welcomed his food shopping advice. J & J Farms is a small country style store selling produce, herbs, breads, and plants. The food looked like it was freshly picked. Prices ranged from very good to not so good. Vegetables, herbs, some fruit, and potatoes were a bargain. Oranges seemed to be high I left the store with beautiful cherry tomatoes, strawberries, and blueberries. The fruit was fresh and fragrant. The hanging pots of flowering plants in front of the store were beautiful. They looked healthy and well taken care of. I'll be back for a few plants and some more fresh produce. read more

J&J Farms reminds me of a little country store that you stop on the side of the road for. They have beautiful fruits, vegetables, and plants at reasonable prices. They have friendly, speedy help to take care of your questions and to check you out in the front of the store. Their parking lot is a little strange--one way in and one way out, but it works. J&J has some of the most beautiful tomatoes in town. They really are worth your time if you need some herbs, nuts, juice, fruit or vegetables for a recipe or just to enjoy. Whenever I visit Constitution Park I also pay a visit to J & J Farms. You can see the back of the farm from the park. J & J Farms is a cute little farm stand that sources local produce. They aren't huge but what they have is well priced. In addition to the selection of fruits and vegetables they also carry a small selection of baked goods, fresh squeezed juices, local honey, jams and jellies, salsas, salad dressings, herbs and plants. Corn on the cob 4 for a dollar, honeybells, strawberry jam, and the local honey are the items that caught my eye today. Bring our own bag so that you aren't charged at checkout. Also plan your visit for the winter and spring, they aren't open during the summer. Support a local family business and local farmers and pay J&J Farms a visit. read more

I am new to the area. I work in the gourmet business. I saw this little store driving around one day, and went in. I was very pleased with their pricing on items. Saw how fresh the produce looked. As you may know that J&J farms is now open all year round. I was so glad as we normally shop there weekly during their open season. They are now offering packaged goods. I was there Saturday afternoon and purchased some organic dip. We went to eat that dip last night and found mold on it when we opened it. I took it back to J&J farms to get an exchange or credit and was told there are NO returns. I have shopped there for over 20 years and spend an average of $25-40 a visit. Today they lost that business over $3.49. Not good community service. Especially during a time like this. read more

I know J&J Farms for many years. I've been waiting for its opening in October of each year, until it opened all year around. I knew the previous owner, I've seen cashiers and employees come and go, but a very few ones who remained. I've always found great products, but the plums that usually were dark inside, but it's "okay". What's not okay is how it is going now with what it seems a new management: 1. Produce is sold while rotting (fennel, for example)! 2. Tomatoes that once would be sold half price in the corner of the store been too ripe, now are sold at a regular price, the other day I had a hard time selecting the ones that looked decent (and ended up not eating them anyway because they "repelled" me). 3. The cashiers don't care, if you tell them; nobody cares. 4. In general, most of the produce is not fresh while the price is still the same if no higher. Conclusion: the owner seems to be the kind of people who want to make money at the expenses of their customers, not realizing that people are not stupid. It's sad, because as I wrote, I counted on this "little farm" to buy my fresh produce. Now I can't. read more

J&J Farms is a tiny little local farmers market that is only open seasonally and closes during the summer from the end of June to the end of October. If you drive to fast down the road you could almost pass it is it that small, I know I am close when I see the Bedding Barn because it is right past that if you are going west on Hillsboro. They are eco-friendly so you have to bring your own reusable shopping bag(s) as they do not use plastic. If you forget they sell their own for .99cents. They only sell fruits, vegetables, breads, J&J farms homemade salsas, jams/jelly and other locally made items like honey, cookies etc. That's it! No meats or cheese or anything else. What they do sell is always locally grown (mostly) and the prices are unbelievable low! Fresh basil at Publix in those tiny plastic containers run around $2.99-$3.99 and at J&J you can get a huge bundle freshly cut, I might add, for only .99cents! I got 2lbs of plum tomatoes and paid around $2.80 when they run more than that per pound at the regular grocery store so you can see what I mean by low prices. My recent visit was to grab two Jars of J&J Farms salsa's that are locally made here in Deerfield Beach for my secret santa gift exchange for the Yelp Elite Holiday Party. It needed to be an item that was locally made and the person I picked said on their profile that they loved tomatoes. I immediately thought of this place and bought a regular salsa, a salsa verde and since I love bears so much I added a tiny 2oz honey bear bottle of locally harvested palmetto honey. Happy to say he loved the gift and it turned out that salsa verde is his favorite! Definitely a cool little place to check out and worth stopping at if you are in the area and it's always great to support local farmers. read more

Unfortunately this will be my last time here. Went today and bought a few items. I picked up two items from a shelf that had no price sticker so I kindly asked the lady at the cash register to tell me the price. She then pointed to the shelf and told me to go look at the price. For fresh produce at great prices, my local go-to fave is J & J Farms. Open seasonally (closed summer months), they source their veggies and fruits largely locally. Thus, while staples such as oranges and carrots are always available, some pop in and out based on short seasonality. I got a beautiful bunch of arugula a couple of months ago (makes for an excellent alternative to basil for pesto btw) but haven't seen it offered since. Prices for a particular item can vary from visit to visit based on supply and quality, but it always seems a bargain compared to similar items from Publix. So much fresher too. Beyond produce, J&J provides many extras that really give the place a farmer's market touch -- breads, preserves, spices and more, both their own line and from local sources. BYOB (bring your own bag) or buy one of their reusable ones for 99 cents. And, minimum $5 for debit or credit. read more

The fact that the market looks like a barn and the name having the word "farms" in it ; leads you to believe that it has locally farmed produce or at least organic produce. I was excited to go and find fresh produce. Instead what I found was GMO food set up to look like a local market. Very little organic food. I won't be going back. read more

This is a great Farmers market. My family of 3 and and infant get fresh product their weekly. The haul usually includes about 2 crates full of veggies for only around $45 dollars! I like feeding my son homemade baby food and getting farm grown veggies puts my mind at ease that I am feeding him good things! J and J's also have a great bread selection, honey and even carry Alyssa's Bites. Which is a local Floridian company. The staff is nice, they are always super sweet to my son and they never get mad that I have mommy brain and forget to bring my own bags! read more

We stumbled onto this place when we decided to visit the nearby botanical gardens. We needed a public restroom and found one inside the store. It was clean and welcoming as was the store. It had tons of fresh produce and signs posted on how to find the best melons, etc. There appeared to be a local following and the cashiers were friendly. Great little gem, close by I95. Easy to park, cute store front and friendly staff. Place is well kept. I've gone in and spent less than $14 on food that would've easily cost me $25 and up in any of the major chains. Food stays fresh, never had any issues with quality.
