We are so so happy that we chose Benny to be our wedding photographer! We were looking for a photographer whose editing style was real-to-life/vibrant with a romantic flair. Our wedding planner had given us a few names to look into to see who might work with us best. We had talked with a couple other photographers but, after our first meeting with Benny, we knew he was the one for us. Benny was so friendly, professional, and enthusiastic about his work. He was always so approachable and responsive to messages. I never had a doubt about getting in touch with him through email or text. We loved that he wanted to get to know us as a couple and as people and we also really loved getting to know him, how he got started in this career, and what keeps him motivated to continue doing this career that he loves. His passion was also very evident when "out on the field" during our photo sessions. Even though Eric and I are not very natural when it comes to taking photos, he made it incredibly easy to look natural even when posed without making us feel awkward. We loved and trusted his artistic eye for what would look good in photos and his dedication to getting those photos, even if that meant crouching or lying on the ground! It was so much fun getting to work with him the three times that we did for our engagement shoot, our Vu Quy Vietnamese ceremony, and our wedding day. We had a great time on each day and especially on our wedding day, working with both Benny and James. Working closely with our planner and coordinator, they were able to help keep us on track throughout the day to the point of being ahead of schedule because we were so efficiently getting the necessary photos done that we even had time to take some extra couple and bridal party photos. They were a fun team to work with. There was a lot of singing, dancing, and laughing with this crew and it was such a good time! He got along well not only with us but with our families and friends. Our parents and bridal party loved working with him as well and they remember him fondly when thinking back on our wedding day. In addition to how wonderful he was on the days he photographed us, although it wasn't not guaranteed to get them so quickly, he worked diligently to get out the photos relatively quickly to us and not a detriment to the quality of the photos. For our engagement shoot, he sent us the whole album of photos in a little over a week; for our wedding weekend, he gave us little sneak peeks starting a week out from our wedding day and, a little less than 1 month from our wedding day, he was able to get our entire album of photos to us, all beautifully edited and organized from start to finish. Needless to say but I'll say it anyway, we LOVE LOVE LOVE our photos. He took special care to get everything that we wanted photographed. I'm a picture lover and I've looked through our photos over and over the past week. I still can't get over how amazing they are and have really enjoyed thinking back to the memories that were captured. Gosh, we loved Benny from the moment we met him! He came highly recommended by our venue owner and wedding planner, and he was the first and easiest vendor we booked. After a brief meet-and-greet at a local coffee shop, we liked Benny so much, we didn't bother considering other photographers. Three things stood out to us about his work: 1. Benny used to be an engineer and has a unique eye for angles, which our mid-century modern venue -- The Lautner Compound -- is perfect for. He was already very familiar with shooting there, which was a bonus. 2. Benny knows how to work with couples. We were referred to Benny by a friend who was married in Orange County. He flew up to Northern California to shoot our wedding! I have never met a photographer that made me feel so at ease. We were referred to Benny by our venue in Laguna Beach, and realized after the very first meeting that he was going to be our photographer! During that first meeting, he answered all our questions and really made sure that he got a sense of the two of us and how we wanted the wedding to go. We were lucky to find Benny for our New Year's Eve wedding at [seven-degrees] in Laguna Beach! We met Benny at a local coffee shop after finding him online and hired him on the spot. We really liked his energy and enthusiasm about his profession, as well as his camera abilities and confidence to shoot a night time wedding (since our ceremony started later). Throughout the wedding planning process, Benny would take the initiative to check in with us every month or so. As the big day got closer, he visited the venue since he had not been there before, sent us examples of photos and shot lists, and shared several emails/phone calls with us. He was hands-on, easy to get a hold of, and shared in the wedding excitement with us. On the wedding day, Benny showed up on time at the hotel to shoot the wedding party getting ready. We had a large wedding party (7 bridesmaids and 7 groomsmen, plus family) and Benny brought along an assistant to help him throughout the day/night. We had some unexpected rain on the wedding day so we had to make the best of taking some pictures inside, but they still turned out really nice. Benny did an excellent job capturing our wedding and all of the special moments we shared! This was our first session with Benny and I have to say it will not be our last! Given how big our extended family is, we always have a bit of chaos when it comes time to family photos. With the family or 15 (coming in mostly from Arizona) in conjunction to being the day before Thanksgiving, he and I had discussed what the potential concerns were for the session and what my absolute "must" for picture combinations were. He contacted me prior to the session and was really helpful in suggesting the best location to fit all of our different families as well as offer clothing color suggestions. With as many kids as there were in our session I have to say then he over delivered on anything I could've imagined, he was beyond patient, helpful, and very funny to say the least. All the kids had a great time and were really able to open up to to him and he was able to capture some awesome moments for us to cherish forever. Benny is easily the best photographer I've ever had. My husband and I first hired Benny to shoot our maternity pictures and, because the photos were so perfect and exceeded our expectations, we had to hire him again 6 months later to shoot our family photos. From our two sessions with Benny, we've learned that he is a true artist when it comes to photography and really has an eye for the perfect shot. Contacted Benny because I needed someone to take photos of my proposal. I took my girlfriend out to dinner and was going to bring her back to my house after dinner and surprise her with a proposal. Our family was looking for a photographer to update our pictures in 2014 to be used for our Christmas card. We were lucky enough to hired Benny @ BYC to update our family photos. Benny was willing to travel to wherever we wanted as a backdrop site for our pictures as he knew we had small children and their attention to detail was limited to twenty minutes. In reality due to his enthusiasm with care he was able to keep the kids entertained and have all of us laughing. Giving our pictures a great natural feel to our expressions because the environment was so relaxed. The preview pictures given to us via a password protected website were received quickly and he was open to options on which pictures we and he felt were the best ones to focus on. After a disappointing photo session at the mall, I decided to look for a qualified photographer who had also worked with kids before. At first I was a bit hesitant because I've never hired a photographer from the Internet. What really gave me confidence was that BYC photography responded to my email the same day. Benny was not only very professional in answering my questions, but also understood the difficulty of photography children. On our initial scheduled appointment my eldest child got sick, and Benny suggested to reschedule. This was really wonderful, because I wanted to make sure my kids would be comfortable and be themselves during a photoshop, and not feeling sick. The day of shooting went really well, the suggested time and location was very suitable. The photographs were done in a reasonable time, and the results are just simply beautiful.
