I'll bet you a nickel you didn't answer with Ballpark Crunch. I never heard of it, so when I asked what was in it and heard "toffee and chocolate", well that kind of sealed the deal for me. In fact, both of us ordered Ballpark Crunch in a cup and a cone. We visited Byrne Dairy and Deli on a Friday afternoon. It's big convenience store and gas station where I topped off our car with some decently priced gas. Then after feeding our gas tank, we filled our bellies with two small ice creams. They ran around $6 for both. The Ballpark Crunch was excellent, with deep toffee and chocolate flavors and plenty of the promised crunch in every mouthful. Byrne has 20 ice cream flavors and a nice feature in a walk-up window. The young guy who took our orders and scooped up our treats was pleasant to deal with. read more

The only place around here that does milk in glass bottles, which is a huge improvement in taste and helps reduce waste. They do apple cider donuts during the fall and winter and those are tasty. The ice cream is pretty decent but their food is standard gas-station stuff (sandwiches, pizza, nothing spectacular). Warning - the milk ALWAYS goes bad on the listed expiration date. First and foremost Excellent staff! I am an avid cyclist and finding a good sandwich out on the road is challenging when you are a vegetarian. They actually have a Byrne dairy pre packaged egg salad sandwich I look forward to! Good bread (would be nice to have a whole wheat or whole grain option) with a good amount of tasty egg salad. Free ice water for my water bottles and plenty of sports drink and energy drink choices as well. One day I will try the ice cream being that I see people pull in wait in line just to get it, it must be good. The bathrooms are always clean and stocked. But it is the staff that makes a huge difference in the connivence store experience (I go to many of them), they are very helpful pointing out napkins and seating options along with just enough small talk to make you forget you are eating at a gas station again! Very clean store. Generally always have in stock what I need. Management staff is friendly and usually remembers you. I think they have a problem with turnover, but for the most past no issues there with other staff members. Gas prices usually the best around. Good selection of beers too. read more
