Came in for some ice cream and really enjoyed our time!! I ordered a twist cone with chocolate sprinkles! They had a great variety of hard ice cream and some great sundae options. I thought my ice cream was pretty good, nothing spectacular though. I really have to lower the starts on this place thought because they only take cash! This is such a disappointing thing in 2026 where many places are already cashless, making it hard to get delicious ice cream unless you remember to get cash which I almost never have. They do have an atm, but that has its fees. I would love to come back again in the future, but I have to be honest and say I would probably stop at one that takes cards first. read more

Large portions for excellent prices! I had the kiddie size in a cone for $4.25. The ice cream does melt fast. There's so many hard ice cream flavors, they carry Perry's. Better than your average road side ice cream shoppe... Ample parking, clean store, pleasant service and tons of choices... But beware the regular size sundays. Very generous with the ice cream and you won't run out of topping before you're finished... Might want to have desert before dinner! Also, lots of seating inside and out. I ordered the 'Kiddie' vanilla and chocolate twist in a cup with chocolate sprinkles. My bf ordered the 'small' Death by chocolate hard serve in a sugar cone and cup (approx $10). Hello again fellow travelers! We stopped by this ice cream place on our last road trip on the way home. Service was quick, they had lots of interesting flavors, including some combinations that sounded like they were made up just to have a different kind of ice cream available that nobody would actually want to eat :-) Don't miss out on the chocolate covered waffle cone with sprinkles which aren't always in the main window to order. I love homemade ice cream, but this is not my favorite. We have a place called The Scoop locally and it is the creamiest, tastiest ice cream you can ever get. This was certainly ice cream, but it didn't have a lot of flavor to the ice cream base itself. Sure, anybody can throw a bunch of toppings into a cream base and it looks really exciting, but the ice cream itself just wasn't Shazam. read more

In our continuing quest to find great outdoor dining options this summer, we turned to Papa Jack's. Anyone that argues that ice cream does not qualify as "dining" has not seen the size of their portions! The kiddie size sundae is a good size dessert and the regular is a meal. I can only assume "large" could feed a family. For those trying to distance, there is a well-staffed outside window with exceptional service. The employees were extremely fast, kind, and accommodating. There are numerous shaded, well-spaced tables and plenty of cleaning stations. The ice cream is Perry's... like ALL of Perry's. The list of flavors is huge. The toppings were generous and very high quality, all for an excellent price. The peanut butter / hot fudge combo was particularly outstanding. Next time we're on the hunt for diet destroying delights, we'll definitely be back! read more

This estbalishment has two stores, one restaurant that has food and dessert, then there is their ice-cream only store that is across the parking from the food restaurant. We have never been there, and it looked pretty busy with the food part of the restaurant as well as the ice-cream part of the restaurant. Thinking it was hopping with businsess the food must be good here. Unfortunately, I felt their kid's mac n' Cheese wasn't very good, my 5 1/2 year old daughter , loves mac n' Cheese like none other. However she didn't want to eat it after a few bites, because it tasted bad. I tried it and it felt like they didn't put any love into their food. I had their NY strip steak dinner meal, it was featured as one of their specials under $10. And believe me you pay for what you get. They never asked me how i wanted the steak done, so i had it well done. And I just felt all the around the service and food was lacking. They had me to get up and grab crayons and coloring sheets for my kids. So I felt customer service was lacking. Perhaps, we didn't order what they were best at, because didn't know any better. Their Ice-cream store was fine, normal ice-cream nothing special. I wouldn't eat there again, it was a waste of money. read more

This is one of those restaurants where I like the place and the wife didn't. To her credit, she's been known to be picky from time to time, so little things like the kind of rye bread (and it's freshness) can set her off. This review is for Papa Jack's ice cream. Good prices for the amount you get. A kiddie or small is perfect as far as I'm concerned. A medium at times can be equivalent to a pint. A large definitely is if not more. The selection is Perry's and varies greatly. The soft serve is upstate custard. All kinds of toppings. My fave is orange pineapple. It's not set up that great, you can' read any flavors or even know what they have until you are already in line and then you can't go back and forth to look at the flavors. Ends up all they carry is Perry's.. so the same stuff you can get at Wegman's for 1/5th the price. The only lactose free option was Vanilla.. not sure if there were any vegan options, I would say no. So if you are looking for high quality original stuff, this is not where to go.
