Lost in the Wilds of western New York. HUNGRY!!Need food, but where to eat? Driving north on Route 390, seeing exit 11 with fast food joints, but nothing at the exit. How can that be? The fast food joints are miles away. But wait, Colby's. What's Colby's? Doesn't matter.. ..Starving, need food now. I walk inside and order some hotdogs and fries. Surprised that they did not have white hots? After all this is Zweigle's country. Colby's food beats fast food joint's food in taste & quantity. Surprise!! PIES on Parade! Colby's has bakery pies for sale, different types of pies: apple crumb pie, apple raisin pie, strawberry rhubarb pie, blueberry lemon pie, pumpkin pie and more. When I saw the price five dollars, I was skeptical on the quality of the pies, but they're stuff with flavorful filling and with flaky crust. And amazing value. Decent bakery for sweets tooth. I had their pies 3 times, overall they were good. The banana cream pie had the strong banana food flavor in it which I didn't enjoy much, other pies were good. They have many flavors and their price is reasonable. Their store is not big or fancy type. They sell ice cream but the price is a bit high so I didn't get it. Staffs are friendly. They sell BBQ during summer and have outdoor seats. I will try that next season. read more

I love supporting local. This is a great local bakery, ice cream shop, and bbq joint all in one. I have had their fry cakes before, and they were great with a cup of coffee. Purchased Colby's grape pie at Naples Grape fest. Couldn't wait to tuck in. Ugh! No actual grapes in the filling. Rather a thick, rubbery pudding-like paste made of grape juice and cornstarch. Great local family business.... I take my niece and nephew here all the time since it's right by our homes. Colby's offer's a wide selection of ice cream flavors and will let you sample before you buy. I'm a fan of their milkshakes, very creamy. Plenty of seating inside or outside on their picnic tables. They also offer baked goods and a restaurant counter with a great menu selection. From pulled pork sandwiches, burgers, chicken and fish fry's. I've had a cheeseburger here, very good. This was our first trip to Colby's and it went like this...First off there's plenty of parking and easy entrance...The shop is smallish but very clean and quant like the days of old...There's a lot of ice-cream choices and they all looked so good it was hard to decide on just one...We both had a sundae's, mine was rocky road with strawberries, hot fudge, nut's and whipped cream...My wife had a brown butter bourbon truffle with hot fudge and whipped cream...Both were amazingly tasty...The damage with tip and tax was $16.00, not bad for these giant sundaes...We enjoyed eating our treats on the outside deck overlooking a field of greenery complete with a gentle breeze...It was a very nice experience and we'll be back soon...Give them a try and enjoy a nice visit... read more

Agreeing 100% with Nicole C. Stopped in randomly for the first time. Ordered a kiddie sized ice cream with sprinkles. It was a good but i wouldn't call it very tasty. Certainly not "out of this world". Also, to pay $4 for a kiddie ice cream with one topping seemed a tad costly to me. I did look around before ordering and noted they had some reasonable priced pies. While i didn't try one, I thought the price of that was far more reasonable than something you would get at a Wegmans grocery store. read more

Had driven past a few times en route to someplace else; it doesn't open til 11 AM, so it was never open when we went by...until last week. We are SO glad we stopped in! Bought a raspberry pie, only $6.00, probably 8" pie. It is the best purchased pie we've had in years, easily competes with any homemade pie! The ingredient list is short (no preservatives), and raspberries were the first ingredient. Several other varieties available, but raspberry is uncommon, so, having to choose just one, that was our choice. Looking forward to an excuse to return (we live in Buffalo). read more

Terrible apple and pumpkin pies. Disappointing. Too sweet, not much flavor. Pumpkin had a chew to it, like there was caramel in it. Apple pie couldve had canned filling, thats what it reminded me of - very bland. No wonder - the ingredients are listed on the box and it contains no spices, not even cinnamon. Crust on both is crumbly and tasteless, not buttery and flaky. The only redeeming quality is the smaller size, good for a smaller crowd. read more

The frozen custard was ok. The only thing that really irked me was that they overloaded the cone and only gave one paper thin napkin to hold it with . With all the social distancing going on we didn't feel like going back in to ask for more. Luckily we had hand sanitizer in the car it was a tad bit messy! My family and I love Colby's ice cream! Not only do they have a wide variety of flavors by the customer service is top notch. We had an issue ones with over payment and the manager on duty was more than helpful and even gave us a free ice cream for a future use. This was totally not necessary as it was my fault for the over payment but she made it right! We will definitely be returning to Colby's! We love our local ice cream shop! read more

Excellent staff and ice cream, and decent, if not a bit pricey, dinners. Plenty of house-made baked goods which is exactly what Henrietta/Rush could use in my opinion. I hope this place stays around. My two main complaints are the drinks and the sandwiches. They removed their drink fountain and now all they have is a selection of bottled Gatorade, iced teas, or sodas. It's really in desperate need of more choices. I also really really wish they would mix your choice of sauce in to your sandwich for you. If I'm paying $10+ for a counter-service combo, could you not at least throw some gloves on and mix my BBQ sauce in to my pulled pork sandwich for me? Just drizzling it on top myself (it comes in a separate container for you) makes for a somewhat sad experience. read more

Went there with my lady friend. That place is very nice in Rush area. Got big cup or hot fudge brownie sundae and cheese roll. My love got mex hot fudge sundae. They were lil pricey. We wanted to sit inside where its cooler. All the tables were dirty. It would be nice if the workers make a few min to clean the tables plus the chairs before other people comes in. It was very hot outside that weekend. The manager of that place hires high school and college students. So the manager could have trains them better. Plus the bathroom was really gross. Dropped in and got a kiddie Roadrunner Raspberry. It was a good size and was very tasty, but nothing out of this world. There was one server attending all of us who didn't look very happy. Granted she was alone and had 6 customers to attend to, so I'm not torn up about her lack of enthusiasm. I want to come back for all the non ice cream items. Their baked goods and fudge looked quite appetizing. Also, they have a large menu offering main course meals and appetizers I'd love to try. Move over Dinosaur and Sticky Lips, Rochester now has 3 options for BBQ!!! I happen to stumble upon this place and was surely impressed. A mix of food I've never seen all together before, BBQ as the main attraction, but also ice cream, and a bakery!?! Located in Rush, you can easily miss it, but just look for the barn-like structure. Apparently Colby's as been a BBQ catering joint for over 2 decades, that unfortunately I was never invited to a party that had it. They have either pulled pork, pulled chicken and ends as options. I was lucky enough to stag the lunch special of a pulled pork sandwich and 2 sides for $4.99! What a great deal that was, and after referring to the site, it might be offered daily. What I found it strange that the pulled pork was naked, and not dressed in any sauce. They had sauces in side cups, with options of boss sauce, franks hot sauce, and a kraft BBQ sauce. I find it unheard of that a BBQ place that has been around over 20 years doesn't have it's line of sauces. I tried it with no sauce which wasn't all that great, after dressing it with kraft it was quite tasty. My sides were fruit salad, apple crisp and also happy that corn bread was apart of my meal. Corn bread was moist, and the girl behind the counter let me in on their secret, apple sauce! Fresh fruit is always a extra brownie points in my book. The apple crisp wasn't hot, but cold, yet still good. Didn't try the ice cream, however they seemed to have a lot of options between 32 flavors of Hershey's. What impressed me more was the bakery items that were brought over fresh from Leo's Bakery in East Rochester! I've heard good things about Leo's and all of the items looked really good. I definitely plan on returning to get me some more pulled pork. read more

This was absolutely disgusting. Was told it was gross before arriving, but my mac and cheese tasted like milk soup and they don't have red hot. my italian three layer cookies didn't even taste like almonds& they were hard. Never eating here again! My friend ordered a pizza and it looked like it came straight from a pizza pooping machine. The cheese all came off first bite and it smelled . Some coworkers and I decided to order lunch today and I had heard decent things about Colby's food. Eight of us ordered. We called them about 2 hours before hand and asked for delivery before 12... The food was delivered at 12:10. ALL of the orders were wrong. I'm a forgiving person and will let it slide if there's one or two mix ups on occasion, but they got the entire order wrong! I ordered a simple cheeseburger with ketsup, mayo and lettuce. What I got was a hockey puck with ketsup and soggy lettuce on a squished ball of playdoh. Then one of my coworkers called to complain and Colby's agreed to redo the order which was great... I should have checked what they delivered to me before I got home with the intent of eating it for dinner. We stopped by Colby's two nights ago for ice cream. The convenience of this store is great, hours open also good. There are many fine looking desserts offered within along with a large food menu. The ice cream was good, but not many almonds found in the chocolate. On a positive note, there were real almonds. That's how it is sometimes, note, this is not a complaint. read more
