He gave me a quote for a steel 12-ft piece of 11-gauge square tubing 1.5 in x 1.5 in x12 ft. I had looked at other places, but the prices were crazy, and to have it delivered was, in some cases hundreds, of dollars. I had a few more questions, and Cody answered them promptly. He made me feel very comfortable working with their company. He stated that the product would be on will call for me at the Ontario location which was great because it was on my way home from Fontana. I let him know that I had Thursday off so I would pick it up then, and he said no problem just go to the front desk. I did just that and within about 10 minutes I had a 12-ft square tubing made of steel at my disposal. I really didn't need 12 ft, so I asked them if they could cut it to 10 and I didn't need the scrap. The person with whom I delt, said that was not a problem he took it and cut it to a 10 ft length--perfect. The staff knew their product well and it was very nice to deal with people that knew exactly where product is and how to get it to the customers in a timely manner. Now the Ontario location is a retail location, so I thought it might be more expensive, but I was wrong. Out the door the price was $54.38. I brought $54.40 thinking they wouldn't have pennies, but much to my surprise they did have change and I got two pennies back, I guess two cents for my thoughts hahaha.. This location, has all kinds of tubing, posts, solid and hollow, whether they be square cornered, round, long or short. I was amazed at the selection that they had. If you have need to make a brace for a tree or need to make a cage or tubing for some reason, this is the place to go.

The first call was disconnected by the person who answered. A subsequent call was not answered, and I ultimately reached the store from another number and was told the item was in stock. When I arrived, a different employee assisted me and completed the sale. During checkout, the employee opened the product box without my request while responding to a product-related question. The question could have been answered without opening the packaging. The item was not needed and remained unused. When I attempted to return it, I was informed that the store does not accept returns under any circumstances. This policy was not disclosed at the time of purchase and is not stated on the receipt. Under California consumer expectations, material terms such as a no-return policy should be clearly disclosed prior to purchase so customers can make informed decisions...especially when packaging is opened by store staff. Posting this so other customers are aware of the store's policies before purchasing. September 4th, received an email advising the three items were backordered and the estimated ship date was now September 18th. September 8th, received a email confirming the September 18th shipping date. September 15th, received notification of order cancellation (Ordered number did not match original purchase order number. Reason given for cancellation "any orders of more than 30 days would results in a cancellation". Replied that it would not be 30 days until after the confirmed shipping date of September 18th, would they please reinstate the original order and ship as confirmed. Response "reorder via our website". September 15th, Contacted customer service/sales spoke with Jesse Hurt (ext 203) he confirmed the original order number and indicated shipping was still scheduled for the September 18th; he told me he would check into the conflicting information and call back on the 16th...more crickets. September, 16th & 17th, tried to call Jesse left several emails with no response. September 18th, had to order the three items from another source. Would have appreciated better communications and customer service. This entire process cost me one month and had to repeatedly reschedule my electrician. Max Tool this is no way to run a business. Bought thousands of dollars worth of products including 700 dollars worth of knuckles for the gate…read moreposts. Our contractor who repeatedly purchases from Calimet told us to buy 800 knuckles for the large gate project. It turned out we only needed just under 500 so went to return the 3 boxes. At 85 cents a piece we are talking a little over 250 dollars of an over 7,000 dollar order. As it turns out my wife who was the one who went to do the return told me one of the 3 boxes was open but we bought by the piece not by the box. So the manager before knowing it was past 30 days said we can only return the 2 unopened boxes. Okay so only 200. She then says there's a 30% return fee. That might make sense if it's a gate opener that can no longer be sold as new, but again these are chunks of pot metal. My wife agreed to the outrageous 30% return fee and to take the loss on the almost full 3rd box even though the receipt will show we bought by the piece, not the box. So it was actually less than 120 dollars return and they still refused.The manager was extremely rude saying the store policy is 30 days to return or exchange. I explained over the phone that the project took longer than our contractor anticipated so we were a little over the 30 days but be reasonable. These are chunks of iron in unopened boxes. It's not like they have a "best by" date. She said "that's your problem, talk to your contractor, no refunds or exchanges after 30 days". She then threatened to call the police on my wife who was understandably upset. Extremely anti consumer company who only cares about taking as much of your money as possible with terrible service. Avoid at all costs. If that wasn't enough, the quality of the product is shoddy. Very rough surface pot iron that's rusted on delivery.
