This little shop was fantastic! I had a chair with a seat and back cushion that needed reupholstered. They completed the job on-time, impeccably executed, and at a super competitive price. Responsive to questions and great customer service. It's a little congested getting around inside the shop, but don't let that deter you. Hands down, would recommend this place! I wish I had before pictures but this rocker is 100 years old and was a mess, really dried out with large cracks. The wood was bleached out to a gray color after sitting outside the last few years. These pictures don't do it justice. C&M does EXCELLENT work!! They have refinished several antique pieces for me and everyone of them turned out GREAT!! If you are in a rush and can't be patient for them to do the job right, don't bother. But if you will allow them the time they need you will be as pleased as I am. I've now had C&M reupholster six chairs and a love-seat and every one of them has turned out incredible. The staff there is great to work with and as others have mentioned, they don't pressure you to buy the fabric with them as they know you can get it cheaper at higher volume stores. The quality of their work is phenomenal and the furniture is like new when they get done with it. read more

I sent pic of tear in leather sofa seat back. asked for budgetary quote to repair. Sylvia said $150 to $200. I took it in for her to inspect to firm up the quote. Then she said $200 -$250. I asked her to do $200. I told her I had a competitive quote for $180. She said couldn't do it for $180. I asked what can you do it for since I don't have a hard price yet. she said take it to the other place. I will. read more

If I could give 0's stars I would. This is the second time I used C&M to do work and experienced terrible customer service. Chris is terrible with communication and is sporadic in answering and returning phone calls. When I called to confirm a day and time to pick up he was very rude and changed the price for the work he initially quoted. I refuse to give any establishment my hard earned money and not receive the bare minimum when conducting business. Terrible establishment. Do not waste your time! read more

Very disappointed with C&M's response. I gave Chris at the Rowlett office some chair cushions to be re-stuffed, asking for a quote to be delivered the next day. Nothing. Three days later I called their office, asking for a quote, and was promised a quote right away. Nothing. I finally returned to their Rowlett office and politely asked for my cushions back, for I was taking them to another upholsterer instead. With great difficultly, they finally found all my chair cushions. Glad I am done with them. read more

A friend referred me to C&M and I could not be more pleased with the work they did for me. I brought them a 150 year old sidechair in really rough shape. Dropped off three barstool seats to be reupholstered. The gentleman I talked to said they would be ready the next day, guaranteed (his exact words). The next day, I call ahead to see if they're ready: no answer, voicemail is full. I try again at different times, same result. Finally, I show up to pick them up, and I'm told they're still waiting on vinyl. Will NEVER use these people again, as this is not the first time something like this has happened. read more

We had a couple of family heirloom wing back chairs redone. They were great to work with. Honest information on fabric choices, with no pressure to buy it there. Even suggested best low cost places to buy the fabric. We ended up buying it online. Cheirs turned out Absolute great! Even the quick touch up on the wood parts was spot on. Great upholstery shop in an easy to miss location. The owner come from a shop in LA where he worked on celebrity's furniture. I had them make slip covers for my old Crate & Barrel sofa, which not only saved me $200, it looked better than the original. He has some photos showing how loose or tight he could go, so I went tight & tailored and he nailed it. Plus he use some hidden zippers that made it easier to take on and off. His main clients are interior designers that do not want to share the resource, but I think people should know about this place.... read more

We are new to Alameda and had the refreshing experience of having a chair re-upholstered at C & M recently. We walked in off the street and felt welcomed and comfortable immediately. The result is a beautiful "new" chair for our living room. We've since learned that long-time residents have been going to C & M for years, and no wonder. They've been here forever and are thoroughly capable upholsterers. They can even provide unobtrusive decorative suggestions, if you want, and will tell you what doesn't work, too. I took a chair,ottoman and several cushions to be reuphostered by C&M. They promised them in one month. After 3 months of excuses I went to pick up my item to find that not only were they not finished they were torn apart! They refused to make any restitution! read more

I visited the store and they were very friendly, but when I tried to reach by phone it took about two weeks to finally talk to someone....then he never returned my phone call. I guess they have too much work for new customers. read more

We had some old ratan porch furniture that needed the cushions redone. We supplied the fabric, and asked them to redo the pads. It did take awhile, but we were pleased with the cushions and the quality of the work. read more
