On May 23, 2025, our 2017 Dodge Ram EcoDiesel was towed to CH Urness Dodge after it was determined a recall issue caused the truck to break down. Despite being in their care for over four weeks, we received no proactive updates and constant missed time lines. We had to chase information ourselves. The first time the truck was returned to us. The dealership attempted to charge us for fees for charging the battery. The truck was also in limp mode showing the vehicle was never test drove or quality control inspections." I can't say enough good things about my experience at CH Urness Motors. I brought in my 2014 Promaster because of a mysterious ticking noise, and what I thought would be a quick fix turned into a major $4,000 repair. But thanks to the team--especially service adviser Javier and technician Michael--it was the most positive and smooth service experience I've ever had. Javier is a total standout. Always smiling, laughing, and bringing genuine positivity to every interaction. He kept me informed, explained everything clearly, and truly made me feel like a valued customer. I've owned four Porsches over the years and I've never experienced customer service like this. He is exactly what every company should look for in a customer-facing role. Michael, the tech, was equally impressive--he took the time to walk me through the issue and explain what needed to be done. When we found out the camshaft part I needed was backordered with over 11,000 people ahead of me, they went above and beyond to source a high-quality non-OEM part, and got me scheduled the very next week. To top it all off, they overestimated the cost, and I ended up paying significantly less than expected. In an industry where surprise fees and poor communication are the norm, this was a refreshing and rare experience. I took my 2017 Dodge Grand caravan to this dealership because the check engine light was on. I had to have it towed there and the service department advised me that my only problem was that my battery was beyond toast and so they replaced my battery. They also advised me that they ran a diagnostic on my van and that everything was perfect and I would have no further problems. WRONG!!!! Earlier today my son traveled from Portland to the Dalles to pick up my perfect Grand caravan. Within 5 mi of the dealership, the check engine light again went on. He told me that my grand caravan was not able to accelerate and had to go up hills at 20 to 30 mph on a freeway. That was an initial problem that I encountered before I took my van to this dealership. When I was assured that my van was in tip top excellent condition, I figured that they looked into the problem of acceleration. Acceleration. They did not. I truthfully feel that I was gouged at this dealership. They sold me a new battery for $150 but to install the battery was another $150 in labor. I showed this invoice to several of my friends and they all concur that I was gouged by this dealership and didn't actually get the service that I deserved or paid for Anyway folks, if you're in the Dalles area, for the benefit of your checkbook and also for the benefit of your vehicle, DO NOT go to this dealership under any circumstances whatsoever! read more

I recently bought a Cherokee from Dave at CH Urness Motors It was a great experience! Who thought that buying a car could be fun? I was given the option of test driving on my own or with Dave. I chose Dave, and he showed me all the features on the car. We "Fake" ordered a couple of different models to understand the difference and he worked hard to find me what I wanted. He listened, and figured out my preferences. The price was reasonable and fair with the same for my trade in. I didn't get passed around to different offices. In fact, he helped me through EVERY phase. I wasn't pushed to be over sold on anything. We also communicated well via text, email and phone calls. Mr. Urness and his team runs a top notch dealership. Recently, I had a Jeep dealership in the Portland area (to remain un-named) perform recall and TSBB work on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. A day later, the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) fault light illuminates on the dash on my drive up to the Dalles. I called up the Service Department, and a wonderful and cheerful service adviser, Ron, answers the phone. I asked to see if his team can scan the codes and see if there was anything urgent to address. He replied that it's the NW Cherry Festival in the Dalles that weekend, and it may be busy, but to come in and he will take a look. When I arrived, he put his tech on the Jeep right away, and quickly identified the root cause - the previous dealer did not clear the codes in the transmission after they performed the transmission reflash TSB. The technician cleared the codes, which also restored use of my cruise control quickly, and I was back on the road in no time. I know this is out of the ordinary, but the Urness Jeep team came through in a pinch, and delivered. They get an A+ in my book. I bought a NEW RAM ECODIESEL and I'm here to tell anyone that Urness Motors had the best price, no GAMES or Big Stories. Also they did't have any hidden dealer profit called: DOC FEE! (like the Idaho and Washington dealers have). When a truck came in they called, had it ready to test drive and the prices were very good. I had done my Homework on the models and options so, it was a very easy decision. They had the BEST price and their service staff is experienced and capable. I bought my new RAM and have told others what a professional and complete job they did. I'll be back for my next truck! This is my first one star review. These guys are terrible. I had a 9 AM appointment to get new keys, an oil change and to fix my cruise control. t 9 AM the guy said it would take two hours and at 10 AM they hadn't touched my truck yet. Four and a half hours later at 1:30 they had only done the keys. The gave me back my truck with no oil change or fixed cruise control. They charged me $55 to "diagnose" the cruise control but didn't do anything to fix it. This place lacks customer service or any care for the customers and all the employees seem very lazy and unmotivated. Do not go here. read more

Never had I seen such bad service from a car dealership. My brother has managed dealerships for over 20 years in the L.A. area, which has more traffic and volume, and he still manages to get top customer service and sales in his area. We would've never given these guys our business, had it not been for the fact they had the exact truck we wanted. You'd think after dropping $65,000.00 on a new truck in December 2019, that we'd be treated well. That's not the case. You see, we drove off the dealership with a contract and a promise that we'd receive the cargo box divider, and bed pedal. My husband called the salesperson numerous times, over several months, only to get the runaround about the parts being backordered, etc. He even spoke to the manager several times. Finally, we received the bed pedal, but it was an aftermarket part, not the original agreed-upon part! FYI, it doesn't fit the same. After calling numerous times again, with no response, and finally getting a hold of the manager, we received the original part. It's now July 2020, 8 months post-sale, and we have yet to receive the cargo dividers. Save the trouble. These guys only care about making a single sale. They obviously don't care about customer service, referrals, or repeat customers. It pains me to have given these guys our money, as the young man who helped us in SLC was such a great professional, and followed up with us. Unfortunately, the truck we wanted was limited in production and SLC couldn't get it, otherwise, we would have bought it from them. I took my car here for a simple oil change. Afterwards, I start the car, and the engine light is on. Go back to the service desk, get the tech out to the car to find the issue and overhear the trainee(?) wonder if I brought it in that way. Really? Wouldn't the tech notice something like that taking it in to the service bay? Anyway, the air filter compartment wasn't latched, fine, simple oversight. Cleared the engine code and went on my way. A couple of weeks later, I noticed a massive oil leak making a mess on my driveway. I had to buy a quart of oil to keep it topped off until I could get it checked out. I decided to take it to Oil Can Henry's for another oil change because I doubted the service I got from this dealership. Sure enough, they pulled the oil filter off and there was no gasket! I decided not to go back and raise hell because they had proven a lack of taking responsibility for their incompetence during the original visit. Never again! read more
