I'm a neurotic mess when it comes to my dogs. I have literal nightmares about bad things happening…read moreto them - and that is when I'm with them. You can only imagine how I am when I'm apart from them for more than a day. I'm not sharing this because I lost a bet. I want you to know this so that when I write, "I trust Family Tails Pet Sitters without reservation," you'll understand how big that is. I worked with Family Tails for about five years and couldn't have been happier. I wish I could have brought them with me when I relocated. They provided weekday walks, overnights, occasional weekend walks, whatever I needed. If you're lucky enough to work with Wilson, I envy you. He became the second dad my dogs never had. You won't be surprised that my three guys eat different kibble, get different treats, and have daily meds. And they're no joy to manage on a walk in good weather - bad weather is as bad as you're imagining. Wilson handled all of this without a single complaint. In fact, people in my neighborhood would occasional comment on how great he was with my guys (and how much better they behaved for him than for me). I started off just needing a walk here or a walk there. Pretty soon, though, I was using them multiple times a week because they were so good. I bet you'll have a similar experience.

We made the right decision. The folks at Family Tails were amazing. When we got back we had notes of what happened on every visit and how the kitties were doing. Our cats were so happy and in good spirits, which is not at all how they usually are when we have gone out of town in the past. You can tell that they really care about these animals, and they get to know their personalities and likes and dislikes. I would love to use Family Tails for any of my future pet sitting needs, but unfortunately I moved across the country and they don't make house visits in Seattle. :( I can easily recommend them to anyone.

My most recent foster was a young male fox-hound mix from a rural rescue. This beautiful, spirited pup was a handful, and he and I needed help... immediately! Lily from Happy Planet Petcare was recommended by people at my local dog park; I am so happy we found her. Lily uses positive, rewards-based training. My foster pups' particular needs were: pulling hard on walks, being constantly distracted, no recall, jumping on people out of excitement, being barky, and chewing whatever came near his mouth at home. Lily achieved drastic improvements on all fronts. As well as her professional accreditations and hands-on experience, she is currently pursuing a master's degree in animal behavior. That was one of the things that attracted me to her services, a passion rather than a job. Lily is articulate and explains behaviors, often from the dog's perspective, which is so helpful. Her goal was for me to have a fun relationship with my dogs. I feel confident about transferring what I learned to the other foster dogs I host. I highly recommend Lily and Happy Planet Petcare.

Ethan was extremely patient with her, and it wasn't long before she was giddy about him coming for her mid-afternoon walks. He took great care of her, doing all the little things like cleaning up leaves in the portion of the dog park where they played to keep her from eating them and getting an upset stomach. When we were out of town, Adam and Patrick dog-sat for us. They both have very sweet dogs of their own, and Jolly loved going over to their houses. She's been especially sad to leave Adam's house! The guys were all extremely considerate. We knew we could count on them to come pick Jolly up at the last minute if we needed them to -- and because I travel often on short notice for work, that was an enormous help. Adam took care of any issue that came up, every time. We're moving out of town and know Jolly will miss them. But these guys are great. Use them!

I have not one bad thing to say about them. Patrick, Adam, and their sister Mattie took fantastic care of our bunnies. They responded to my (at least one million) questions in a timely manner, and came by twice to meet the bunnies. We got stuck in Iceland for an extra night because our flight was delayed, and all it took was one quick email for them to swing by and check on the bunnies for an unscheduled visit. I received pictures, emails, and texts each time that I used them. I'd found them through a Google search after a really bad experience with another company, and Saving Grace was literally a 180 from what I'd previously experienced. I really can't recommend them enough. They're passionate about what they do, and they really care. If you live in the NoMa or Capitol Hill area, check them out!
