Ethan, Adam and Patrick are absolutely wonderful -- I couldn't recommend them more highly. When we rescued Jolly a little more than a year ago, she was very shy and terrified of new men. Ethan was extremely patient with her, and it wasn't long before she was giddy about him coming for her mid-afternoon walks. He took great care of her, doing all the little things like cleaning up leaves in the portion of the dog park where they played to keep her from eating them and getting an upset stomach. When we were out of town, Adam and Patrick dog-sat for us. They both have very sweet dogs of their own, and Jolly loved going over to their houses. She's been especially sad to leave Adam's house! The guys were all extremely considerate. We knew we could count on them to come pick Jolly up at the last minute if we needed them to -- and because I travel often on short notice for work, that was an enormous help. Adam took care of any issue that came up, every time. We're moving out of town and know Jolly will miss them. But these guys are great. Use them! read more

I wish we'd found Saving Grace NoMa sooner! They were our go-to sitters for our two rabbits for our last year that we lived in DC. They were amazing! I have not one bad thing to say about them. Patrick, Adam, and their sister Mattie took fantastic care of our bunnies. They responded to my (at least one million) questions in a timely manner, and came by twice to meet the bunnies. We got stuck in Iceland for an extra night because our flight was delayed, and all it took was one quick email for them to swing by and check on the bunnies for an unscheduled visit. I received pictures, emails, and texts each time that I used them. I'd found them through a Google search after a really bad experience with another company, and Saving Grace was literally a 180 from what I'd previously experienced. I would honestly give these guys 10 stars if I could! We had a week-plus vacation looming, with a friend lined up to take care of our two cats, but he couldn't come every day. I remembered hearing about Saving Grace and reached out via email. Adam responded almost immediately, and came by the very next day to meet the kitties and get a feel for what level of care we needed. It was so incredibly easy to get started using their online portal (much easier than trying to use Metro Mutts, which I had looked into and abandoned after multiple issues with the online forms), and the scheduling process is super clear and easy to adjust. The prices are fantastic, and I can't get over the level of care given. We came home to two clean litter boxes, full water bowls and happy cats! I absolutely recommend Saving Grace Pet Care, as they go above and beyond what might be considered "normal" service. Five stars all around! read more

I hired Saving Grace to take care of my cat over the week of Christmas, 2014. This was the first time I left him alone for a substantial amount of time, and I was generally unfamiliar with the pet sitting services available in DC. Yelp is full of horrifying reviews of services that "forget" to make appointments for a week and essentially leave your pet for dead, so, naturally, I was a little paranoid. Saving Grace, fortunately, was reliable, friendly, and communicative. Adam was very patient regarding my slew of paranoid emails RE: keeping my house secure and my cat alive. They followed the directions I left to a T. Most importantly, the price was right. I paid $80 for four visits, all of which were situated around a major holiday. Overall, I'm happy. My cat's happy. Saving Grace has been our go-to doggo walkers since December. We picked them after our friend's dog walker was unable to fit us in. Scheduling is very flexible and Adam and Patrick are very responsive, even with last-minute requests (which I make much more than I'd like). I am not a person who leaves reviews and certainly not someone who bothers to leave negative reviews for minor issues. We had a great relationship with Saving Grace for more than a year through two different walkers. Our dog wasn't and isn't the most chill. He's excitable. Then we had a change in walkers. And everything went to hell. The person walking our guy clearly had no patience or interest in walking dogs. He was careless. He set off our home alarm a few times, scaring the hell out of our dog. Even then, he took him outside BEFORE putting his collar on, putting him at risk for jumping our fence. The third time he set off the alarm, our dog nipped him (after he again took the dog OUTSIDE before putting his collar on). After our guy nipped him (understandably) he tossed him back inside still leashed with the alarm going off) and left. This is not how anyone should behave with a dog that they've startled. And then the walker had the nerve to complain about being nipped. (If he'd really bitten him he'd be in the hospital). The incident was bad enough that we had to get additional training because our guy was so freaked by the experience. Thanks. No thanks. read more

I was anxious about just giving a total stranger the keys to my home - but it was 100% clear right away that those fears were, in this case, totally unwarranted. They have a system, they're trustworthy, and the online booking system is easy and straightforward. Patrick took care of my two cats while I traveled internationally, and followed all instructions to the letter (and went above and beyond the call of duty and hauled some big packages inside for me), even sending me a quick email or two (with an adorable picture) to let me know that all was well. I've been using Saving Grace for 4 years and they are amazing. Adam and Patrick run a wonderful dog walking service and we love our daily dog walker, Jack. My two aussie doodles absolutely adore them. We do the midday walks but I can't count the number of times I've been in a pinch and needed a last minute evening walk. They are incredibly flexible and always responsive when I have last minute requests or cancellations. We've been using Saving Grace for about a year, and this review is long overdue. We moved from NoMa to Brentwood, so Toby (our 60ish lb boxer/pit mix) has two different regular "walkers" - first Trevor and now Patrick. Both are amazing! A few quick anecdotes: - I work from home, so sometimes I'm around when it's time for his walk. They always come within the window of time that we request, and Toby's reaction to their arrival says it all: He absolutely loses it with excitement. One day, when we did not have a walk scheduled, I was working upstairs when I heard Toby yelping and crying like he was in pain. I ran downstairs and realized that he had seen Patrick from Saving Grace come by with his dog friends that he usually walks with while he was staring out the window and, when the pack passed by our house, Toby felt like he had been left behind! He was so sad, but it really showed how much he loves his walks! - We went out of town for a week and booked a dog sitter through another company. The person that we got was flaky and we were worried that Toby was going to be left alone for way too many hours without a bathroom break. I called Saving Grace and asked if they could swing by for a very last-minute walk and they got back to me right away and made it happen. We were so relieved to have them there. - You can book all of your walks and everything online, and they are very responsive. On more than one occasion, we have requested an 11am walk at 10pm the night before, and they always manage to confirm our booking. Definitely trust these guys with your pups! read more

This review is long overdue. We have been using Saving Grace for midday dog walks, evening walks and boarding for over a year and a half for our Boston Terrier, Donnie. Saving Grace has been terrific - always reliable and flexible. We often change our schedule last minute or add unexpected walks and somehow they are always available to take care of Donnie (and don't even blink twice at how unpredictable our schedules can be). Ethan in particular is excellent. On dog walks, Ethan has given Donnie a ball he loved so much, he let him keep it to play with all the time. When Donnie sees Ethan, he reacts as though he is greeting me or my husband. On overnight stays, we receive a daily photo a update, which is so reassuring. read more
