It's a big enough event space but since it was SO HOT that day, the lack of shade in the square made too many people try to squeeze into the air conditioned rooms of the event center. All in all, a decent place for a festival - lots of space (indoor and outdoor), lots of seating, clean bathrooms. I just hope the day of the festival is cooler next year!

It was just our group downstairs for the late dinner and the staff who took care of us were amazing. We all ordered drinks and they brought out complimentary biscuits that were piping hot and fresh. It was super moist and so good with the buttered balls spread on it. For my main, I chose the Shrimp and Scallops Etouffe. The pieces were large and the creole sauce was excellent. After dinner, our member friend took us on a tour of the mansion. It was great seeing the different rooms. This place was huge and the architecture was really beautiful. What an amazing experience to be able to dine here and explore this space!

The Engineer's Club is located in the Garrett-Jacobs Mansion in Mount Vernon. It's the city's oldest private social club, but it hosts events and weddings in addition to serving its membership functions. It was an absolutely stunning venue for an opera. The staircase, the wood, the stage...! If you love architecture, you just have to see it for yourself (may in combination with that other gorgeous building just down the street - you know the one!). Definitely adding it to my list of Baltimore's most beautiful buildings. If you have a chance, don't hesitate to visit for a performance or event. I know I'll be back for another opera next season. They also offer tours, which I am adding to my must do in Baltimore list!

Upstairs cut out with drink trays alike the railing so you can look down on the stage. A lot like Union transfer but smaller. Sound system is really great. I'd love to see a band here. A NIGHTMARE for What Should've Been a Joyous Occassion…read more I hosted my 30th birthday brunch at The Belvedere, the overall experience was deeply disappointing and frustrating. The food was served cold I, the guest of honor, received my meal last. The service staff was disorganized and unprofessional: drinks were served in glasses with visible mold, a guest was spilled on with syrup, place cards were ignored. (Which I had to MAKE MYSELF to add) After submitting a detailed formal complaint, their response was both disappointing and dismissive. They blamed the cold food and disorganized service on my late arrival -- which, while true, does not excuse the breakdown in execution. The original schedule was for starters to be served at 12:45 and entrées at 1:10. Due to my delay, starters were served at 1:20 -- only 35 minutes off -- yet entrées didn't arrive until 2:30, nearly an hour later. Even with the slight delay in the start, the kitchen had ample time to follow the adjusted timeline. Their excuse was that the food was ready at 12:45 -- but if that's the case, why was it not served until nearly two hours later, after we'd already finished starters by 1:45? Rather than take any accountability for the cold meals, lack of coordination, and overall poor service, they deflected blame and offered no refund, no accommodation, and no solutions. At first they offered to sit down with us & the team to discuss further. But once we added we wanted to bring statements from guest to eliminate the "he said, she said"at the advice of an attorney, they stopped communicating with us entirely. After we pleaded with them that we were not seeking council or legal action they still never responded. The lack of professionalism and unwillingness to make things right only deepened the disappointment. This was supposed to be a joyful milestone event, and instead it became a source of stress and embarrassment. I do not recommend The Belvedere for any event unless you want terrible service, communication, and professionalism. If you stayed this far the venue was beautiful. But at what cost? Not the amount of money, time & effort put into this day to just be silenced and not considered at all.

It looks like they could accommodate a lot of requests in one very large and one larger space. The did was good and one guest that owns a Korean restaurant said there pork was better than almost all restaurants. They have some parking just outside the entrance and more across the street; possibly an arrangement with the church.
