A NIGHTMARE for What Should've Been a Joyous Occassion…read more I hosted my 30th birthday brunch at The Belvedere, the overall experience was deeply disappointing and frustrating. The food was served cold I, the guest of honor, received my meal last. The service staff was disorganized and unprofessional: drinks were served in glasses with visible mold, a guest was spilled on with syrup, place cards were ignored. (Which I had to MAKE MYSELF to add) After submitting a detailed formal complaint, their response was both disappointing and dismissive. They blamed the cold food and disorganized service on my late arrival -- which, while true, does not excuse the breakdown in execution. The original schedule was for starters to be served at 12:45 and entrées at 1:10. Due to my delay, starters were served at 1:20 -- only 35 minutes off -- yet entrées didn't arrive until 2:30, nearly an hour later. Even with the slight delay in the start, the kitchen had ample time to follow the adjusted timeline. Their excuse was that the food was ready at 12:45 -- but if that's the case, why was it not served until nearly two hours later, after we'd already finished starters by 1:45? Rather than take any accountability for the cold meals, lack of coordination, and overall poor service, they deflected blame and offered no refund, no accommodation, and no solutions. At first they offered to sit down with us & the team to discuss further. But once we added we wanted to bring statements from guest to eliminate the "he said, she said"at the advice of an attorney, they stopped communicating with us entirely. After we pleaded with them that we were not seeking council or legal action they still never responded. The lack of professionalism and unwillingness to make things right only deepened the disappointment. This was supposed to be a joyful milestone event, and instead it became a source of stress and embarrassment. I do not recommend The Belvedere for any event unless you want terrible service, communication, and professionalism. If you stayed this far the venue was beautiful. But at what cost? Not the amount of money, time & effort put into this day to just be silenced and not considered at all.

The small kitchen in the back also helps when bringing in food and Kelly (owner) will assist with food set-up and will also provide sterno cups for a small fee. Kelly was also very accommodating for the use of our music and other audio visual equipment. The hall is very spacious and allows enough room for dancing or games or other activities in the middle of the hall between the tables. We also appreciated the use of a large cooler for ice and separate table for soft drinks. Set up was pretty close to what I would have done in my own home, but with much easier clean-up. She also had access to a gentleman to assist with clean-up and a bartender. We took advantage of the help from both and it made serving and shut-down that much easier. All in all, our guests enjoyed themselves immensely and the team that planned the party was able to get all that they needed to make my niece very happy with her surprise birthday party. Everything was amazing. Ashley Murphy our contact for the club, was great with assisting setting everything up for us. We had no issues with parking, unlike last year, due to multiple events being held that evening, everyone loved the food, and the onsite Coordinator Antoine was a great help. I know we had a few guests who didn't RSVP and weren't on the official list I gave you, but Antoine was flexible and was able to fit them in. And the view of the harbor was AMAZING!!!!!

Service was attentive and impeccable. Salad and burger hit the spot. Friends all enjoyed their meals as well and thought prices were very fair once our host mentioned what was owed. I was there with family for a B'not Mitzvah celebration many years ago. The city views are incredible and atmosphere is as well. For professionals, the Club is the scene for those wanting to be seen. I'm no longer in a position to join a facility as this, but those who do won't go wrong.

It's a big enough event space but since it was SO HOT that day, the lack of shade in the square made too many people try to squeeze into the air conditioned rooms of the event center. All in all, a decent place for a festival - lots of space (indoor and outdoor), lots of seating, clean bathrooms. I just hope the day of the festival is cooler next year!

Unfortunately it is not positioned for you to easily get to. We were bumping & hitting our shins stepping in & out of the bed. You literally have to climb over to get there. There is also no closet space the few hangers on the wall is it. Very small fridge that is stocked full of their products. If you are wanting to store your own items there is not much space for it. If you have a disability or health concern, be aware that there are steep steps to get into the building. Someone notified that there was a lift in back, but unfortunately to get to the lift you have to walk through several steep steps in the back patio , which didn't make it any easier access. Upon arrival we were given a notice of when our room would be attended to & cleaned, we made sure to be out during the day & time given only to return & the room had not been cleaned. The final & last straw came when a woman came to our room & told us for everyone else's comfort they were going to turn the air on since as I understood it one cooling & heating for everyone you cannot control the temperature of your room. Because of her turning the air on my husband got very sick , shivering & extremely uncomfortable & very physically ill. It was obvious our health, care , comfort & safety was not a priority. We actually left before our reservation was done & found better , safer accommodations. Maximum expense at minimum comfort, was our expierence here. It seemed to want to be a spa more than a guest accommodation & unfortunately didn't do either very well. You cost us valuable time with our family & loved ones . I'm sorry because I can see that this took time & effort to create, just don't sacrifice guests health & safety . Good neighbor wasn't a good neighbor to us. If you value your health, comfort & safety consider making accommodations elsewhere.

And it was important that we not do it at the conference hotel but in a special, local business, doing good in the community. good neighbor fit the bill and more! The space is more beautiful than all the beautiful pictures you have seen of it and it smells like heaven in Earth. The soundtrack they played was a perfect chill vibe. The local wines were special and earthy. But even more importantly, Mary and the special events team were so responsive and easy to work with. They made the event seamless. It was like we were part of the good neighbor community even though we had just met. You will not regret having an event at good neighbor!

As a professional event decorator who has worked at many venues throughout the area, I can honestly…read moresay this was one of the most difficult venues I've worked with. Communication was extremely unprofessional from the start. The person handling arrangements represented herself as the owner, only for us to later learn she was actually the owner's mother. This created confusion and miscommunication regarding event details and access times. The biggest issue was that the agreed-upon setup and event schedule changed once we arrived. As vendors, we plan our timelines carefully, and changing access times at the last minute creates unnecessary stress for both decorators and clients. To make matters worse, the venue appeared to have booked another event too close to our client's event, resulting in pressure to clear out before the scheduled event time had ended. The venue was also not properly prepared for guests or vendors. Upon arrival, the floors were wet, delaying setup. Tables were dirty and required cleaning before use. The restrooms lacked basic necessities, including soap, toilet paper, and paper towels. As event professionals, we want our clients to have a smooth and memorable experience. Unfortunately, the condition of the venue and the lack of organization made that very difficult. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this venue to get all agreements in writing, confirm access times repeatedly, and thoroughly document the condition of the facility before and after their event. Based on my experience as a decorator, I would not recommend this venue.
