Definitely one of the first places to visit if you're in the Inner Harbor area of Baltimore. We stopped by as our first stop when staying in the neighborhood, since the vantage point provides perspectives and ideas of all the other places to visit afterwards. The harbor views are beautiful and vast, and the signage within the observation area talk about all the neighborhoods and give a history of Baltimore. There's even a small section dedicated to honor the memories of Marylanders lost in the 9/11 attack. We were in Baltimore for the weekend and staying about two blocks from the inner harbor. My husband suggested going to this place Saturday morning. It was a great idea. Pricing is only 8 dollars for each adult which is a great price to go up to the 27th floor of the World Trade Center. There are four different sides of the building with written panels explaining what landmarks and buildings are out in that direction. The views are spectacular. They also have tributes to those from Maryland who perished in the World Trade Center in New York on 9-11. Came here for the first time in January (even as a born and raised Baltimorean) and I learned a lot! I had a ton of fun. It's such an amazing view. Customer service was great, and I got in free as part of a promotion to kick off the new year that a lot of museums in Baltimore were doing in January. It's a stunning building on the inside, marble and gold accents throughout. It truly is a museum so there is information about 9/11 since it is a tribute to that event and the victims of it. It's not overpowering and there is other information about historic things in Maryland too. It wasn't crowded when I went on a Friday evening, and there is plenty of seating throughout. I feel lucky because they also had their train garden still up which I thoroughly enjoyed. There isn't a ton of parking since it's downtown, but you can find parking garages nearby that you will have to pay for unless you take the charm city circulator, which does stop nearly right in front of it. It's a great location to explore the inner harbor since the Aquarium and other restaurants are right next door. I highly recommend and I would come back again with friends! #VIEWSSSS read more

Okay, I didn't have expectations for this, but it was pretty cool. Gorgeous views of all over Baltimore, 360 degree windows. It's such an interesting city, and considering they don't have high rises, you can literally see EVERYTHING. The price is very fair if you're looking for something to do with your afternoon. $6 and it brings you all the way up! They have a bunch of pieces of the twin towers scattered around, so you can read about those and get some history while you get to see the views (it's crazy that we call 2001 history haha!). Overall, a cool little spot. We happened to come across it while walking, and so glad we did. Side note: someone pulled the fire alarm while we were up there and my life flashed before my eyes. As we're looking at all this 9/11 history and objects from 20+ stories up, I thought "this is it, it's over, it's my time" and was ready to try and run down that many flights of stairs, but instead, it was a good laugh and an experience I'll never forget. This is a tribute building for 9/11. Admission is $8 per adult. There's one designated elevator to the top. It's a pentagon shaped building. Once you get up there there's information about 9/11. One section has all names of the people who has passed from 9/11. This observation deck also had some artifacts and history related to the 9/11 attacks. There's a small gift shop for merchandise but no concessions fyi. Definitely a must do while sightseeing in Baltimore, especially given the relatively inexpensive price. 360° view of Baltimore from the 27th floor of the tallest 5 sided building in the world. Be sure to bring some quarters to use in the coin operated binoculars. I was amazed how much farther we could see by using them! I even used them to get some neat pictures. Please learn from my mistake and DO NOT park in the parking deck directly across from the observation tower! It is very pricey, we paid $17 to park for less than an hour. read more

During the pandemic they have limited the amount of people allowed to enter. For a small fee per person you get to view from the top of the building of many areas downtown, in the city and in the county. Getting in was simple, after entering you pay the cashier. There is security at the location but they don't mess with you if you follow the rules. Which are you don't exit where you entered, stay six feet apart, and use the hand sanitizer. There are several sanitizing stations to use on the first and top floor. The views are magnificent and it's sad I've never been because I'm Baltimore born and raised! There are so many places to view with historic relevance as well as a collection of literature and artifacts from 9/11 such as the passengers names listed and parts of the airplane's. There were maybe three other families at the location and two employees. One manned the register and the other gave historic and current event information regarding the building and views. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. I recommend anyone come here for a great view, lesson on history and great pictures and selfies!! Weather from Baltimore or not you'll enjoy your self guided tour and the guidance provided from whoever is on duty. read more

Can you imagine being at the Top of The World Observatory on November 1st with sunshine and 70 degree temperatures outside? It was just glorious! The views of the Baltimore harbor and beyond were just spectacular. We were there for the big announcement from the Baltimore Office of Promotion and The Arts. Denise Koch from WJZ-TV was the master of ceremonies for the ceremony. Donna Drew Sawyer, CEO of BOPA, announced the combination of two great Baltimore events - the Baltimore Book Festival and Light City. The two events will come together as one from November 1 to November 10, 2019. Mayor Catherine Pugh offered her support and enthusiasm for this combining of efforts to further benefit the city of Baltimore. read more

Although this isn't a 75+ story view, it does indeed give you a wide-ranging view of Baltimore. My visit took a short 15 minutes as I was alone. It was a magnificently sunny and warm day. I took it all in and relished the opportunity to be at the Top of... Baltimore. I especially appreciated the dedication to the tragic events of 9/11 and how the names were inscribed into the windows (see photo). The Top of the World Observation Level is a must-see attraction when visiting Charm City. The majestic views of the Inner Harbor, National Aquarium, Harbor East and the "Charm'tastic Mile". My biggest gripe is the lack of communication involving opening time. My mom and I arrived at 10:03 am after seeing their holiday hours posted on the Top of the World's website, which indicated that they opened 10 am. There was no one at the counter, so we asked the security guard with the purple hair, Tina, who told us at first that "they closed on Mondays and Tuesdays." I told her that they were not closed today because they had holiday hours listed, specifically today's date, on the website. She then called up and was told that they would open at 10:45 am. So we waited 42 minutes in the hopes that at 10:45 am someone mysterious person would come downstairs and check us in and permit us to go to the observatory. By 11:00 am, no one had come down, and I checked with Tina again, who told us that they have no jurisdiction over the Top of the World observatory, which is understandable, and that someone was coming to assist us. I was irritated by whoever misinformed her that they'd open at 10:45 am and still not show up 15 minutes after the communicated time (and 1 full hour past when their website said they'd be open). Then, a few minutes after 11 am, some teenager comes waltzing downstairs wiht an iPad, checks us in, and tells us to take the elevator to the 27th floor. No greeting, no smile, barely any eye contact, no apology for the wait, no enjoy your time. Teenagers, fine. There are several entrances to the World Trade Center building, both on the harbor side and on the Pratt Street side. The observatory is on the 27th floor. The morning views from up top are beautiful from all four sides---the view of the east was my favorite because it seemed the most expansive. You can see cars whizzing down 83 and 295 and 395. One of the built-in binoculars was out of order, but the remaining seemed to function, with 25 cents for the zoomed view. There is a small gift shop (which is just a gift area) with racks and tables with merchandise between the north and east sides. A friendly employee at the gift shop greeted us and made friendly banter. I found it interesting to learn the history of all the people who either came from Baltimore or who adopted Baltimore as their hometown. I also learned that 68 people were from Maryland who perished in the 9/11 attacks. There were artifacts on display on the north side from the original sites of the attacks: the field near Shanksville, PA; from the towers in New York City; and from the Pentagon. The men's bathroom is dirty, old, and worn; and the door has scruff marks everywhere. Many of the LED light strips they used had come undone and were just sitting randomly over the heating unit along the west wall, and looked messy and neglected. Many of the displays are old and worn---the decals pasted on the south walls, for example, peeling off or falling off---and other areas needed upgrades and improvements. I can totally overlook the lack of newness; the importance and existence of the valuable information completely trumps the presentation. I found all of the placards and history very interesting and worthwhile. I recommend spending about 10 minutes taking in the views and reading the informational material per side, plus 5 minutes at the gift shop, so about 45 minutes total. Check out the Visitor's Center along the harbor for coupons or Groupon for $7 for two entry tickets. read more

I never really knew that this observatory existed for all the times I've come to the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. I saw the sign outside the World Trade Center, checked out the Yelp reviews, and asked my son if he'd be interested in checking it out. I'm glad he said he wanted to because this was something different that I did not get to do with my other kid a couple of years ago. Although quite inexpensive, I was happy when they gave me a law-enforcement discount after asking. For my son and I, it was only $9 to get to the 27th floor. After a few ear pops, we were looking at 360 degree views of Baltimore. The observation deck is dedicated to those from Maryland who perished in the 9/11 attacks. They have pictures of them, pieces of steel, and rock from the crash sites. There are also enough information stations showing what you are looking at and facts about Maryland and artwork pictures on the walls. Additionally, the $.25 binoculars were plentiful. After about 15 minutes in the clean, non-crowded observatory, and then checking out the "gift shop" (which also included one-of-a-kind crafty jewelry besides the run-of-the-mill tourist trap junk), it was time to head down for some more ear popping. For something a bit different and if you are there on a good weather day, I'd recommend paying the small fee to go to the top and take a look around. read more

The location Baltimore's World Trade Center, right in the Inner Harbor, makes for a great vantage-point to take in all that Baltimore has to offer. A five-sided building makes for five different views, starting with downtown and points north, moving around to the Inner Harbor, stadiums, and the classic Bromo Seltzer tower. Keep moving around and you'll have great views of Federal Hill, Harbor East, and a little peek at Fells Point. The final window looks eastward, towards Brewers Hill, Patterson Park, and the Hopkins medical campus. Fitting for a building called the World Trade Center, there is a memorial to all Marylanders who passed away on September 11, 2001. The memorial also contains remnants from Shanksville, New York, and the Pentagon, a sobering yet important reminder of that terrible day. What I like most about this observation deck is that it's not cluttered up with tacky exhibits or tchotchkes - lots of room to move around or linger in front of the windows for as long as you'd like. The best part of all - a very reasonable $6 for adults, a small fraction of what you'd pay in New York or Chicago. For me, having lived in Baltimore for many years, seeing Charm City from on high brought back a lot of good memories as well as views of all that is new. We stopped in on a Saturday evening around 5. I didn't realize that Top of the World closed at 6pm- seems like a missed opportunity for the sunset. I was also surprised that there was minimal security. You can walk through the door, show your ticket, take the elevator up- and the only staff interaction upstairs is in the giftshop. I don't think this is a negative thing, but it was strange. Once upstairs you'll have a great view of Baltimore. 360 degrees are offered on the 27th floor of the Baltimore World Trade Center. The view of the habor is great and there's plenty of seating if you want to sit and take it all in. At the beginning of the floor there are pieces of the NY World Trade Center buildings and tributes to the people of Maryland that we lost on 09/11. On the other side you'll find information on famous people from Maryland and interesting facts on the state. I wish we would have been higher up, but at floor 27th it's easy to make everything out and have a sense of direction to the things below you. I will say it was super sunny when we went and it did hinder certain views but I can't minus a star for the sun lol. I would check this place out if you're looking for something new to do. It's definitely the cheapest thing in the area and you'll probably learn a few things. I will also say that you'll probably only need 40 minutes here so if you show up later like we did you'll be fine. read more

I've been to the observatory towers in both NYC and Chicago. So I went in with the mindset that I should have tempered expectations. Paying just 6 bucks to get in and to the 27th floor observatory is a pretty solid deal. Having the five -sided structure as opposed to the traditional four-sided added to the experience with the corners being at a wider angle than 90 degrees. Also major props for having a section commemorating 9/11. My only criticism is this. From the top of the building, seeing some of the neighborhoods marked on a map can seem a bit daunting and confusing if you don't know the unique features of those places. I think having some literature or audio assistance to learn about some of the different buildings and neighborhoods could make this a better experience for newcomers and visitors like myself. read more

I saw this attraction listed on Groupon and decided to check this place out. We stopped in and price compared with general admission. We then spoke with the gentleman at the front desk and he informed me that we would be able to use the Groupon right away if we purchased and showed it to him. The cost for this was under $8 for two people. We went with this option and headed to the top floor. It was awesome to see Baltimore from this height. Each direction included plaques with information on the various neighborhoods and history. We learned quite a bit about the city from this exhibit and I would recommend first time visitors to check out this highly affordable attraction. It is located in the heart of Inner Harbor. In total this visit can last anywhere from 10 minutes or more but we spent around 40 minutes sitting down and enjoying the views. read more

The room was huge, and easily accommodated our crowd of 350. This is a new landmark to me in Baltimore. It was nice to see this was built in memory of 9/11. It's an observatory in the heart of the harbor. When you go up on the top, you can oversee the beautiful architecture of Baltimore. It also had a lot education on 9/11 and how it affected citizens of Maryland. Admission was under $8 per person. I got the Groupon deal ($2-$3 a person) which was a pretty good deal since the regular price is $6. You can go whenever but I would check their website for the hours. Also, they change the hours randomly. I was planning to go there on a Saturday which says it would close at 10pm but they then posted an announcement that it would close at 7pm. If you want to make sure, just call them. I just showed the Groupon and took the elevator to the 27th Floor. You get a good 360 degree panoramic view of the Baltimore Inner Harbor area. Even though we went on a rainy day, you still get pretty good views and it's something to do indoors if you're in the Baltimore area. read more

Not too much going on but if you want to get a great view of Baltimore, this is it.you also get a little bit of history too.

Very cool view, just not worth $8 a person. Its in an office building so I feel you shouldnt have to pay.

I don't give out a ton of 5 star reviews, but the main reason for this rating is dur to the low, low entrance price. It was only $6 per adult to go up to the observation floor. If you go to other major cities that have similar attractions (Seattle, New York, etc), you will be paying a minimum of triple that cost to look out onto their city scapes. If you can, try to visit this spot during the week in the afternoon, it was completely dead up there and very easy to get great views/pictures without having to fight a crowd. The observation floor is also housed within the World Trade Center of Baltimore, so there is a beautiful and touching tribute to all of the Marylanders who died in the 9/11 attacks. On our first stop today, my buddy and I checked out this museum inside the World Trade Center in Baltimore. Top of the World sits on the second top-most floor in the building, and provides spectacular views of the city of Baltimore. On this floor, there are many photos, artifacts, and memorials dedicated to 9/11. There are some memorials to prominent Baltimoreans such as Johns Hopkins (representing!) as well. Admission to this museum is a mere $6, but we were given a veteran discount and paid $10 for both. The elevator ride was a short ride up, and voila we were there. Check the pics for what it's like up there. We also checked out some of the memorials that sit just outside the building. There are fragments of the twin towers, along with engravings paying tribute to the victims. This was beautiful place to check out. It was one of two powerful memorials that I visited today. Whether you are a conspiracy theory nut, or actually have common sense and know 9/11 was a terrorist attack, you will enjoy this place. Come and check it out. read more
