Two years ago, I enrolled my two son's through the recommendation of my son's teacher when we were in Florida. Since then, I have seen the long term positive impact from Kumon's teaching method over the last 2 years. It has made me a firm believer in their teaching method. When we moved to Georgia, I wanted my kids to continue with Kumon. The location in Sugar Hill was the closest to me. I found out this was a new center and was not sure what to make of it. I was not sure if it would be better than the one we were attending in Tampa. After three months at this location, I am completely blown away by the wonderful service provided by the instructor, Mrs. Cherry. Mrs. Cherry updates me frequently on their progress, but I can see for myself their academics has accelerated since coming here. She has a passion for education and knows how to interact with kids. My kids enjoy coming here, and I get to knock out my grocery shopping at the Publix next door while they are in class. Win Win! Their price is very competitive. I've spoken to some neighbors who were unsatisfied at another company. I ask how much they pay. I said no no no! You need to send them to Mrs. Cherry. You'll pay less and get better results. So now they are enrolled too :) This new center certainly is a great benefit to the community. My advice to everyone is - go to the kumon.com website and read up on their method, individualized lesson planning and self learning concept. I have heard about Best Brains from a friend whose daughter was attending there, and when my…read moredaughter started having math problems, I decided to give it a try. I have heard from other parents of other tutoring places, but their kids have always complained about the other places, so this seemed like the best choice for my 7 year old. I must say I am really impressed with how much my daughter enjoys going to Best Brains in Alpharetta. First of all, the teachers are wonderful and she is really flourishing with the individual instruction and small class size (ratio 4 to 1). The atmosphere is very positive and uplifting, my daughter (who is now 8) does not feel stressed out by math anymore and in fact she told me she loves going to best brains but sometimes hates going to school. I think its the people who work there that make the place so inviting for the kids. And of course after attending for almost a year now, her grades have really improved and she is now in her own words " second smartest kid in her class". Parents who are not computer savvy and/or do not have English as their first language should avoid…read morethis business. Their sign up process is misleading. My friend, who does not read or write in English, signed up her son in July of 2017. The son was not happy with the tutoring service and the mother withdrew him in in May of 2018. The sign up and termination were done in person. The mother paid for 12 months in advance and did not ask for a refund for the remaining two months on the contract. The woman at this office had the mother sign for ongoing payments even though the mother only wanted 12 months of service which she paid for in advance. When the mother terminated the services the same person failed to record the termination and three months after terminating Cornerstone Academic began charging the mother's credit card for $139 each month. Now they refuse to refund any of the money.
