    Halloumi salad
    Hayley H.

We decided to eat at Cabana before a concert at the o2. There's a nice Brazilian ambiance and we were there on a Sunday evening which wasn't too crazy busy. The menu is quite meat heavy but I chose to have a halloumi superfood salad, which was actually a much bigger dish than my friends had (they all chose burgers and skewers etc). I also shared a side of fries with my hubby. What's weird about this menu is that you have to order your sides separately, so if you order a burger you will only get a burger, unlike other establishments where it comes with fries, coleslaw etc. I also had a strawberry caipirinha to drink which was tasty. The salad was good, a nice light and healthy meal before a concert. I followed this with a peanut butter frozen yogurt with chocolate sauce - yum! Prices are pretty standard and would probably come here again before a concert.

Burger with no bun...they have a dedicated fryer for GF fries !!!

Fast service !! Right outside the O2 so good for a quick bite. Also offer gluten free options!!

    Brasilian Homeslaw.

We were hungry and walked around The O2 to find a restaurant for our pre-concert meal. There were long queues at other restaurants. By chance we went to Cabana because it looked very lively! Yes, the people, the ambience and the music were all lively! Truly Brazilian! The staff at the door were friendly to welcome us. After we sat down the waitress explained the menu to us and recommended some popular dishes. I had the Spicy Malagueta Chicken (£8.95). This dish is one of their best sellers. It is a skewer of spicy, sticky chicken, marinated in their Spicy Malagueta sauce. The taste was indeed as decribed, spice and sticky! I also ordered the Brasilian Homeslaw (£2.95) made up of coleslaw of carrot, red and white cabbage, crushed cashews and a hint of mango. Light, refreshing and completed my vege portion for the day! French fries (£2.95) were tossed with rosemary and garlic. Very crisp. The aroma of rosemary and garlic blended very well. Biro-Biro Rice (£2.95) the long grain rice fried with garlic, herbs, spring onions and shallots. It is named after the famous footballer who loved it. I love it too. Will they name it after me??? We asked for some tap water. The waitress brought a 1/2 litre jug of tap water with a thick slice of lemon. How thoughtful! I would definitely return to try more of their BBQ selections.

The steaks were flavorful and decent for the price we pay. I preferred the rib eye over the sirloin. In terms of texture however, the steaks were a hit or miss, some were really chewy and some were tender. We also got some sides to share. The mushrooms and Argentinian fries are worth trying! For drinks, we went with some fruity Argentinian Malbec and this did not disappoint!

We were given a great table by the window, but warned that we needed to give it back at 2pm. The party that had booked the table came in at 1.50pm, but the manager asked them to wait and didn't hassle us at all. I really appreciated that. I tried the sandwich Milanese, as I had never had breadcrumbed beef before. A generous piece of beef came in a large ciabatta roll that was extremely flavourful. The bread (which I usually don't eat) was so delicious that I actually ate all the bun too! It was filled with fresh salad, and not just lettuce - but peppers, onion, tomato and a great aioli. The only odd thing was that it was served with just 5 chips, so we ordered another bowl for the table, which appeared promptly and was a huge serving! Hot, crispy and yummy! My sister had the goats cheese salad and my brother had the burger. Everything was scrummy. My wine was also good - I had two different red wines and liked them both very much. We shared a chocolate fudge cake and a cheesecake between 4 and couldn't finish it. They were both very good. The home made ice cream is lovely - we tried the cherry and the dulce de leche with the puddings and loved them. We are thinking of making it our new monthly brunch spot when we all get together!

I wasn't going to expect much from a BBQ restaurant in London, but they impressed me. The brisket was juicy and full of a rich smoky flavor. How did they do this way out here?? The sausage was also juicy and had a delightful flavor. If I didn't know any better, this tasted just as good as a BBQ brisket sandwich back in the US. The sandwich came with a pickle spear and some coleslaw. There was a generous amount of brisket on the sandwich, where some US restaurants only give you two slices of brisket and call it good. I was stuffed with just this sandwich, and didn't need any sides.

I'd say this is a fun place to come with a group of friends and take advantage of their specials.

The establishment has a nice mixture of cozy and airy, which was perfect for a lazy(ish) Sunday. I hate to use this word, but I'll use it anyway (because I can't think of a better descriptor): the service here is "super" friendly, and very knowledgeable, particularly regarding the ales on tap. The barkeep gave us a few sample pours without waiting for us to ask, which we greatly appreciated. Because of that, we were more than happy with the pints we ordered. Moving on to the food: the roasts were delicious, in particular the pork loin, which was moist and flavorful. I enjoyed my roast beef as well. The Yorkshire pudding was wonderful and I might have been just as happy eating that alone for my meal, to be honest. The pub is in walking distance of the touristy areas of Greenwich, so it's easy enough to put some good food in your belly and continue on to your sightseeing, afterward.

It was on the assumption that they would serve steak that we had decided to stumble in on a sunny Saturday. They don't serve steak. But they do serve well crafted baguette and chicken sandwiches. Seldom would I applaud, much less care to review, an establishment that serves no red meat. This place deserves an exception. The sausage artisan baguette: Bread is wheat-based and is definitely made same day. The sausage was like that of bangers. Total dude entree. Cajun chicken burger: Never thought I'd ever order anything like such outside of Carl's Jr but it was worth mentioning that the kitchen managed to keep the chicken breasts moist (in itself a herculean task) and was served with thin skin-on fries (a rarity in UK). Each of these are below GBP 7.00, a bargain in these parts. Cocktails are half priced (a standing 2-for-1 offer) and a free bottle of prosecco on your birthday provided you've signed up to their promotions list.

So when I wasn't checking out the throngs of men in suits surrounding me, I was noshing on a tangy vegetarian salad and feeling nostalgic about American cities... probably sipping on a vodka tonic and happily listening to the loud exuberance of the many Yankies yammering away around me. The service here is good... and the manager is a sweetheart... he's pleasantly dealt with more than one of my special requests... and instead of punishing me for it with a British eyeroll - once brought me a complimentary glass of dessert wine so that I could give him my opinion about it. If you're here for the true American dining experience - don't skip dessert... order the chocolate brownie topped with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge... then perhaps you'll understand why it's a staple on almost every menu in the US!

But this blows all that out of the water. I ordered The Gobbler: smoked turkey, cheese, bacon, onion rings, lettuce, BBQ sauce and onion. Why? Because I wanted to see what Britain's take on American fare would be like. And what's more American than that? No. Don't answer. There's a lot more that's more American. The seasoning on the turkey is amazing. That alone floored me. Somehow, Britons found a way to take American fare and make it 400x better just by seasoning it differently. The buns were well cooked, the onion rings were battered perfectly and it all just overall felt that much more satisfying to eat. For £8.50. Will I come back next time I'm in Britain? Yuppppp and yesssss.
