He offered a prescription card through Pfizer and said there were times insurance didn't cover the medication and to use this card if I needed it. I really appreciated this because I would not of had the funds to pay out-of-pocket for that medication. As it turned out I needed the card as my insurance did not cover it. It seems like every time we come in for a checkup, there is a new receptionist. Most recently, I spoke with Julie, and unfortunately, the interaction was very disappointing. She laughed on the phone when I asked a question, which came across as dismissive and unprofessional. We have never waited more than 10 minutes. Also, they are great with calling us back. If I leave a message, someone always gets back to me within about 30 minutes. I met several members of the staff to include the nurses, reception, PA and the doctor. Each member of the staff that I met was nice, friendly, and talked as if they were real people (meaning no fancy-shmancy medical babble!). I received my shots, and carried on shortly thereafter. My ol' lady had a pleasent visit, as well, but that's for her to tell! Overall, great location, friendly staff, and quick service will keep me coming back for all my medical needs. When our beloved long-time pediatrician stopped accepting our insurance, I was heartbroken and honestly didn't think we'd ever find another practice that compared. After asking around, I received at least a dozen recommendations for Piedmont Pediatrics in Mooresville -- and now, several months in, I completely understand why. Dr. Malloney is absolutely fantastic -- incredibly knowledgeable, personable, funny, and down-to-earth. He's refreshingly candid and so easy to talk to. My child has complex medical needs, and he's shown genuine understanding, patience, and expertise every step of the way. On more than one occasion, he's known rare conditions and offered insights I hadn't even come across in my own extensive research. We've also seen Cassie (CNP) several times, and she's just as wonderful -- thorough, warm, and confident in her care. More recently, we've met Shareeza (CNP), who's been equally impressive, both when working alongside Dr. Malloney and independently for urgent visits. She's calm, compassionate, and incredibly knowledgeable. I love that Piedmont Pediatrics is a smaller, local practice -- personable and welcoming -- yet still part of the Piedmont Healthcare system, which provides the benefits of a larger network, specifically online records, scheduling, and messaging. It's the perfect balance for families like ours who prefer more individualized care than the big systems (like Atrium or Novant) often provide. Unlike some pediatric offices we've visited, they also have fun, themed exam rooms that make visits more enjoyable for the kids -- small detail, big difference! Their front office staff is wonderful, too. Ashley at the desk is always so kind and efficient, helping with scheduling, questions, and urgent appointments. Another sweet staff member (whose name I regret not remembering!) has also been so caring during our visits. And every nurse we've met is genuinely amazing with kids -- mine actually smile the whole time we're there! We have a complex medical history, and I can't overstate how much I appreciate their willingness to spend extra time answering my million questions, reviewing labs and notes, and collaborating with my kids' specialists. That level of thoroughness and teamwork means the world to me as a parent.
