We boated over from Cayo Costa Pelican Pass. 4 for lunch, place was jumping and pretty busy. Seated promptly and nice table. Service was very good with Kaitlyn, Katie, Katy S. at our table like a hawk. Good service. We had reuben sandwiches and salads with beans and salads w/chicken. Water all around (bottle) seems no tab or table water there sorta of disappointing. And a few long beach iced tea, non- alcohol beers, and cosmos. Neat place but frankly very touristy and pricey for what was order. The 4 pints of water for like 12 bucks is disappointing and the drinks were also my Manhatten priced. Food was just okay for what it was, simply house salads and a sandwich. We dinked over and planned/were interested in walking the trail nearby after lunch but it was closed for "maintenance" with no reopen date. Bummer. read more

After a day out boating this is such a nice place to have lunch and relax. While the atmosphere is great and relaxing and the staff is really nice, the food was mediocre and they did not have any stone crabs for the day so I was highly disappointed.. We also came out for my brothers birthday and they were nice enough to come out with a candle on his dessert and a happy birthday for him but they did it while half our table went to the restroom. read more

My partner and I have been visiting SWFL every year. A visit to Cabbage Key was recommended to us by a local. We were able to hire a ferry/taxi boat to take us out to the Key. I was not sure what to expect, but the island was a little piece of paradise. We docked and walked up to the restaurant. We shared a fish dip platter which was delicious! We had many questions about the island so our server referred us to an office building located behind the restaurant. We were greeted by an employee named Jemma. She was very friendly and willing to answer all of our questions. Jemma shared some of the history of Cabbage Key. She gave us information about a 6 bedroom home that can be rented, along with several other cottages available for reservation. Jemma spoke about events, places to see, and group reservations. She spoke highly of the family who owns Cabbage Key. After speaking with Jemma, we are considering booking our wedding and/or honeymoon on Cabbage Key! read more

The first water taxi leaving Pine Island iat 11:00 am is a short boat ride to Cabbage Key, about 15 min, so for those who get a little seasick, i would recommend going early! When you arrive, go directly to lunch at the only restaurant on the island, if you walk first like we did, you will be waiting in a long line when you get back. Only three things to do: go for a walk, climb the water tower and have lunch, plan accordingly, nice way to spend a few hours, weather permitting! read more

I really enjoy Cabbage Key because it is an immersive experience. There is just something very different about going to an island that you can only reach by boat. There are several in the area, but this island caters to visitors, while the others are private. Pulling up you will interact with the dockmaster who gets you tied up. Then you will be able to explore the island. There are a few trails to walk around a bit. Approaching the bar/restaurant you notice it is an old (for Florida) building. This is old Florida, open air and the interior totally covered in dollar bills. The menu is pretty basic but the drinks are cold and refreshing. Things move at a slower pace than back on land. This is just a very unique place to visit. read more

Catch the Island Girls ferry at the Pine Land Marina and enjoy an afternoon that you will never forget! The restaurant serves chicken sandwiches, shrimp salad, etc... but the cheeseburger is without a doubt the way to go! I do the double cheeseburger with bacon & grilled onions but it's a mouthful!! Wonderful view of the ocean. Cabbage Key is only accessible by boat, but it's worth the ride simply for the ocean views. The food was just average. I had the mahi mahi sandwich, as I will always choose fish when going to Florida, but I was less than impressed. It costs $20 for a pretty simple sandwich, which seems overpriced to me, but I understand that you're paying for the atmosphere too. If you're in the area, I would head here for drinks, but maybe skip the food. Either way, you can't be unhappy with a nice view and great weather! read more

Stone Crab Claws were GREAT! Perfectly cooked. I am not a fan of potato salad and coleslaw which are the staple sides here. I'd say they're about average. Black beans and rice is definitely above average though! Don't think I would make the drive out here again just for the food but it's a fun one-visit. read more

Don't go for the food. Totally disappointed, plus my burger was completely raw inside. They cooked it some more so it was edible, but the food really was not good and is overpriced to boot, and extra $$ even for a bag of chips. Really? The wait service was very good and the restaurant manager is totally on top of things. The dock master was Super Fantastic. The Main attraction-the food- is Not Good and is definitely overpriced. Small island to explore, fun getting to it by boat only, food was good but over priced and I'm not in favor for plastic cutlery when I pay way to much for a meal. The restaurant was nice and has some interesting history to it, you can walk through the island and climb the lookout tower, you can lease a vacation home there too. We went twice, once for drinks at the bar and the next time for drinks at the bar and dinner... the bartender - the tall stocky guy, was a jerk both times - and that's not really the word I wanted to use! The dinner was terrible, rushed, the shrimp scampi tasted like ramen noodles, and the fish portion was extremely small and dry! Being a local resident it will be a long time before I return or recommend this establishment! read more

Left North Naples and arrived here by boat early Saturday evening and docking was easy. We had a warm reception as soon as we walked in. Check in was a breeze and we were shown to room #1 in the inn just off of the dining area. It was comfortable and quiet with a king sized bed, TV, portable A/C and bathroom for a hot shower which was just what we were looking for to relax. Dinner was delicious and our server was so sweet. Sunday morning after breakfast, we took a stroll around the island, found a couple of shells and visited the shell tree. We climbed the water tower and took in the scenery which was stunning. Later, we met the dockmaster Joe who is a true local and has been with them for years. I am an avid sheller so he told us the best spot on Cayo Costa to go for shells and I had a wonderful time. Unfortunately, on the way back, we had boat trouble and had to be towed back to Pineland Marina where the closest boat ramp was located. I called Cabbage Key to inform them what was happening and let them know we wouldn't be back for the night since we would miss the last water taxi from Pineland at 5pm. They assured us our belongings would be safe and we could pick them up in the morning when we could catch the water taxi back across. After calling several different charter boat captains, and 2 other water taxi/charter services, no one was available to get us back to Cabbage Key for our last evening stay. As it so happened, the dockmaster Joe called us and offered to pick us up from the marina and take us back to Cabbage Key to continue our visit. We were beyond grateful and thankful for his kindness. It meant SO MUCH! It definitely lessened the stress I was having knowing our weekend visit had been cut short. He even informed management that he was bringing us back so they knew we were on our way. He is the BEST and such a great asset for them to have and we are proud to know him. We had a much needed cocktail and cheeseburger at the dollar bar while chatting with another couple from Naples. One of the managers, Louis, was there to greet us and reiterated if there was anything we needed to please let him know. I can't speak highly enough about the wonderful treatment the staff provided for our weekend visit. Monday morning, we had another lovely breakfast, perused the gift shop, thanked Joe again and waited for Island Girl water taxi to pick us up. As we left Louis and Scott both thanked us for visiting and wished us back again soon. We think we will take them up on the offer. A fantastic Old Florida feel with quaint rooms and fantastic people. Boat trouble aside, it was a great visit, and we highly recommend! read more

First of all, five stars for the location alone. Even if they were serving hotdogs, which they are not. There are no roads here, so it is boat or a ferry. Made the trek by boat today, was very crowded, in season, in February, but I found a spot at the bar easy enough. This is definitely old-school Florida, with a bit of upscale pricing!although it was busy everyone was pretty friendly and quick. And people were raving about the red beans and rice, so I tried it with the blackened Grouper. Very good! So like I said, five stars on location alone, but food and service pretty good as well! The architecture on the island is great, circa 1930s. You can claim the water tower for a great view of the bay, and take a hike on the trails. You will see go Gopher turtles and other wildlife everywhere. Great place to go for lunch and adventure! read more
