Absolutely horrible. Disgusting rooms, I found soap from a previous customer in my shower, tiny bathrooms unclean beds and bedding, tiny tv, dirty bathrooms, smells of cigarette smoke, leaky shower heads. I would book somewhere else. read more

Inside you can watch the kids easily , they can get back to the parents through a door to inside , without going through the safety gate . There looked to be another room for kids inside which I'm guessing they open depending on the weather. A massive fish tank .... Enough about the kids !!! Food is just pub food , not cheap , not expensive . Each day the menu has a special like Mondays Ribs for $18 , Sunday kids eat free etc . Great atmosphere with a lot going on . I've had a couple of nights out here The music venue "Waves" is great . I saw Birds of Tokio here in the past. A night in the main bar with a band is the same as any other "locals" pub, depending on alcohol intake ; theirs and yours . Great for a band in Waves and great for family reunions.

Nice quiet street too, so not much noise at night. Only four small issues for me: 1. Very noisy air con unit in this room. 2. TV in room is very small. 3. No room service. Working in sales, the last thing I want to do at night is go out to find food or sit in a restaurant by myself. Not sure why they can't do room service from cafe to room. Even if we have to go downstairs and pick it up ourselves ("Ibis" style) would be useful for business people. 4. High charge for WIFI. In this day and age, WIFI should be free for guests. I also thought the corridors on the guest floors reminded me of a hospital. Very sterile and energy saving bulbs everywhere that give off that harsh, white light. However, minor things really. Compared to other over-priced hotels in Wollongong, this is a great place and recommended.

Jet-lagged & famished, we ordered room service at 4 from the casual restaurant located in the lobby. The wagyu burger with egg & steak fries hit the spot! Also really loved the shower - that head could spray!!!!!!!!!!!!

The location is brilliant, right opposite the beach. If your budget can manage I strongly recommend you get a beachside room with a balcony. The room was well appointed, modern and very comfortable. It's a good walk into the CBD for shopping and a plethora of restaurants. There are numerous good eateries close to the hotel if you don't want to venture far. This is our new go to location and this hotel will definitely be our hotel if choice.

In a way this pub certainly felt like one of those really cool grunge pubs that I simply adore. It had a real inner city feel about it, and even had some pretty decent beers on tap as well. Oh, and I probably should mention the awesome service, and the nice beer garden out the back as well. This is certainly one of those pubs that I could end up spending more time at.
Cold Beer, Amazing Food, Perfect Atmosphere!…read more Welcomed with the aromas of honest, home cooked food I sat and enjoyed a schooner of ice cold KilKenny while awaiting my meal! Only half way into my beer my Steak and Guinness Pie atop a bed of mashed potato arrived. Crispy, golden pastry crackled as I cut into the piping hot chunks of beef and home made gravy casing it to ooze onto my plate of tender green veg and creamy mashed potato. Into my mouth a perfect combination of flavour caused me to salivate further while I took another sip of my Kenny! For $16 bucks you can't go wrong. I only wish I had another nigh or 5 in town to try the rest of the menu!

No restaurant on site is a little inconvenient, but it is an apartment complex, not a hotel to be fair. They do a "breakfast to go" which is a continental breakfast in the mini bar, but at $12, probably cheaper to go elsewhere. Not very happy that when I pre-paid on wotif.com for 1 night they took $100 off my credit card and it took 7 business days to appear again. Why can't hotels just take the credit card number and THEN charge it if someone runs away with something? When there's no restaurant on-site, $100 deposit for one night is too excessive. Parking $10 per night 4 levels down from the hotel. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable, and a decent selection of FTA and Foxtel channels on the TV. Happy to stay here again, but please do something about the ridiculous deposit you take on check in for a pre-paid 1 night booking - very inconvenient. Other than that, no problems at all.

The KING sized bed is really two twin sized mattresses sitting side by side. The FREE internet in the room is wired - NO WIFI and is painfully slow DSL. The only way to get WIFI in the room is to purchase and setup your own router. But most likely the slow connection isn't going to be useful to use Skype or FaceTime (which has been my main form of communication back to the states). There is no restaurant or food to purchase in the hotel, only a vending machine found in the lobby. The lobby is also where the only WIFI is in the building but it's encrypted. The front desk said they would give me the password but they acted like they'd be doing me a favor. I'm using the washing machine and dryer in the room right now. The front desk provided the detergent. The dryer has been running for over two hours and my load of socks and underwear still aren't dry. Our refrigerator is also not cooling. I placed a bunch of already cold beer into it and the next morning all the beer was warm. I've received reports from numerous other crew members staying here that they're dryers weren't working either. Some don't tumble, some don't heat, some the blower doesn't work and with others all of those features work but the vents are plugged. The only way to dry your clothes in this case is to take the vent pipe off the machine and let the hot air blow into the room. This morning I found a large cock roach on the counter top in the kitchen. This place is starting to gross me out. The shower has A LOT of mold around the window and along the tub edges and floor. This sort of mold can easily become airborne when showering and make you sick. I mentioned the mold to the front desk but they insisted that the room is cleaned regularly, so I guess I don't understand why it's so hard for housekeeping to pour a little bleach and water into a spray bottle and spray the mold in the shower area. The front desk agreed to move me into another room after promising that a repair technician would be by the next day to repair the dryer and the refrigerator. After returning to the room the next day the refrigerator was still warm, the dryer inoperative and the dead roach was still on the counter where he met his demise.

It's nothing spesh but it is clean, has what you're looking for in a motel (tea, coffee, microwave, soap and shamditioner out of a dispenser, mattresses with visible springs, snoring room mate sold separately) and for a last minute find its cheap (for Wollongong) about $110 a night. The rooms haven't had much updating since the 70s so you get an amazing glimpse into the depressing life of a traveling salesman. The couple running the place are very nice and the breakfast is $10 which is pretty reasonable. This is one of those places where they don't make your room up everyday but who likes being forced to clean their underwear off the floor everyday anyway? The location, Figtree, is kind of just a suburb outside of Wollongong. It's nice enough and there is the world's smallest Westfield down the road. Pro tip: if you ring ahead and pretend to be "someone from your company" you get corporate rates which will save you $8 per night. Score!
