We entered the venue to be met by a lonely table and a large spastic birthday party of what could only be described as Wollongong's finest.....you know, the ones you see loitering outside centrelink crying about a hard life but refuse to find any sort of employment. Again, i should've taken this as a sign to leave. We sat down and ordered the salt and peper calamari.....the whole time my instincts screaming at me to leave; but i sadly ignored it. Our entree came out....what should've been crispy, crunchy tender flavoursome squid was strips of chewy calamari swimming in grease; served with a shop bought hot mayonnaise. Our mains weren't far behind....again, i have remorse for not trusting myself and now suffer from ptsd for enduring such horid food. My main was filet of beef.....it should've been seasoned, succulent and juicy, served with mashed potatoes and a medley of vegetables. However it sadly was not. It was a rare, seasonless piece of cow that died and slopped on my plate. You'd think a "chef" would've shown some respect towards the animal and atleast season it. The mash was cold.....like my heart at this point and the vegetables???? Well its like they threw whatever was going to go in the bin that night onto my plate. Grilled tomatoes? Screw it throw it on the plate, asian greens?? Eh fuck it, throw it on there to. Sauce???? Make sure its stone cold. The lack of care of my dinner was only met by the missing salt and pepper shakers and the servers....at this point i felt i wanted to jump off the cliff behind the dark, dated restaurant whos carpark looked like a pefect place to be sexually assaulted. I disgress, now my husbands main of grilled barramundi....well ladies and gentlemen; if you'd like to have to stop half way home to throw up your stomach contents and contemple suicide then please order their barramundi. Fish was not grilled, not really sure what it was besides cold, served with mashed potatoes that were mixed with salad. Yes, it is as though the "chef" in all his divine wisdom thought "hey.... why just have cold mash, when i can mix left over salad into it". Please stay away from this restaurant, there's a reason it's not lite up at night and has a retarded entry and carpark. Its pretty much telling you its not worth it entering.....just like the cheap hooker you'd take there to feel loved. Also not worth the sickening regret the next morning.

Having a Christmas party here was a very good deal, we had 90 people in the small room, had entrees, mains and a desert and unlimited beer wine and spirits all for $70 per head. The tables were magnificently decorated and the food was to die for, Entrees were an option of chicken and mushroom vol au vent or prawn cocktail. Dinner was roast lamb served in bacon and a rich gravy sauce or chicken on mash, Desert was option of crime brûlée with biscotti, honey cheese cake or brandy snap basket and berry ice cream. Over all this place is lovely and I would definitely recommend it to people. Not much you can fault for this place.

He was so relaxed to work with and really accomodating with the party requests. The only unfortunate thing was COVID.. it wasnt budging and while we were i lockdown we couldnt do a thing BUT Pete was so great about refunding us the deposit as we forfeited the event altogether. Ive read some horrible things where people didnt receive their deposits for some things, but Pete was nothing but great about it. These businesses have really taken a huge hit! If i ever need a transport company again i will 100% be calling up Pete!! AND SO SHOULD YOU!

Several times a year they have a range of events from playing host to the regular Cockatoo Run, the occasional steam train, vintage car days, spring fairs and so on. In October they have the best waratah display you will find anywhere. The grounds are always looked after and they have picnic tables for your enjoyment. They also have the Fettlers Shed Gallery which shows some pretty good art works a few times during the year. No restaurant on site is a little inconvenient, but it is an apartment complex, not a hotel to be fair. They do a "breakfast to go" which is a continental breakfast in the mini bar, but at $12, probably cheaper to go elsewhere. Not very happy that when I pre-paid on wotif.com for 1 night they took $100 off my credit card and it took 7 business days to appear again. Why can't hotels just take the credit card number and THEN charge it if someone runs away with something? When there's no restaurant on-site, $100 deposit for one night is too excessive. Parking $10 per night 4 levels down from the hotel. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable, and a decent selection of FTA and Foxtel channels on the TV. Happy to stay here again, but please do something about the ridiculous deposit you take on check in for a pre-paid 1 night booking - very inconvenient. Other than that, no problems at all.

This place has just become a major tourist…read moreattraction in the Illawarra area with the donation of the first Qantas Boeing 747-438 aircraft (registration VH-OJA). This aircraft made aviation history for the longest non-stop flight by a commercial aircraft - London to Sydney in August 1989. The total flight time of 20hrs and 9 minutes at an average speed of ~893 km/h for a total distance of ~18,012km. The aircraft carried just 23 passengers and crew and used a special blend of high density fuel to enable it fly the record distance. When Qantas decided to donate this aircraft, it's retirement flight from Sydney to Illawarra Regional Airport was the shortest distance a 747 has ever flown. The flight time was only 12 minutes - the shortest delivery flight by a QANTAS 747 and the first (and probably only) time this aircraft type has landed at such a small airport. The flight was several months in planning including the pilots spending more than 25 hours in a flight simulator in preparation. Adult admission price is $20 and Pensioner concession $15. This cost includes a personal volunteer guide who will take you in a small group onboard the Qantas 747-438 and show you through the aircraft and describe all its working features. After touring the 747 you can then view all the other aircraft types that are being currently restored or just kept at the museum. Some of the aircraft are still air worthy so you are not permitted to climb aboard and explore. You may however inspect them from outside. There are many other display planes that are there to be explored. Climb aboard, in some cases crawl through to get to the cockpits. It was a highlight to climb about the restored Qantas "Connie" Super Constellation aircraft that was inside a hanger having maintenance work carried out. Also the restored TAA 'Hawdon' DC3 aircraft is now again flying after being on display on an arch outside Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport. This original aircraft was the first Douglas DC-3 (VH-AES) for TAA (Trans Australia Airlines). On 9 September 1946, 'Hawdon' operated the inaugural service from Laverton, Vic, to Mascot, NSW. 'Hawdon' was re-painted in its original TAA colour scheme and put on public display, suspended above the car park in front of the TAA passenger terminal (today, the Qantas domestic terminal) at Melbourne Airport from 1979 until mid-1987. It was taken down for restoration to flying condition on 6 September 1988 and can be seen flying at airships or at this museum. The museum has so many other interesting displays of engines, helicopters and military fighters like the Mirage and F1-11. Every couple of weeks the museum holds a Tarmac day - where all the aircraft are taken from the hangers and placed outside for inspection. Some of the airworthy aircraft do flying displays. This is the largest Aircraft museum in Australia. I highly recommend the 1 1/2 hour drive from Sydney to Illawarra Airport to visit this most exciting aircraft museum.
