I am filing a complaint for Yelp regarding Cabinets & More and Daniel Wang for fraudulently representing himself as a licensed contractor and not completing the contracting job I paid for. The following is an abbreviated story of the nightmare he put my girlfriend and I through and I anticipate he will be prosecuted by the Nevada State Contractors Board for illegally performing contracting work without a contractor's license. After researching multiple contractors, we chose Cabinets & More due to their great reviews and friendly demeanor. Daniel gave off the vibe that he cared about us and his work, and his goal was to transform our current house into our dream house. Daniel let us know that the entire job would take 6-weeks, but wanted to give us an estimate of 2-months in case there were delays. Shortly after the 8-month mark, we fired Cabinets & More due to their extremely slow construction process and poor construction work. Unfortunately, the nightmare is just beginning because we have had to hire a tile cleaner ($450), an electrician ($350), a roofer ($900), gone to Hope Depot/Lowe's multiple times (to get supplies and recuperate stolen tools) and recently interviewed other contractors to clean up the mess Cabinets & More made (it should be noted that the contractors will not touch certain items Cabinets & More completed and still came up with costs averaging around $35,000). This is just the tip of the iceberg too because he stole approximately $1,600 worth of our tools and ruined approximately $15,400 worth of our furniture (I say approximately because every day we keep finding items of ours he and his crew ruined and/or stole). Cabinets & More got the notice to proceed on June 25, 2018, however did not show up to do any work until June 28th. From there, they proceeded to demolish our entire downstairs in 3-days...then no one showed up to the house for 3-weeks. This raised a lot of red flags since the first month was already complete and all Cabinets & More had completed was 3-days of demolition work. However, Daniel seemed really nice and we wanted to help grow his business and even offered to introduce him to our friends if he did a good job. Unfortunately, this was just the beginning of all the problems we had with Cabinets & More and we learned Daniel would not take responsibility for anything and always threw others under the bus. Every day was a new excuse as to why nothing was getting completed. As the job continued, we kept asking Daniel why workers were not showing up. Excuses included not showing up for three weeks because they were getting permits (which they never got), not showing up for over a week because the foreman's truck was in the shop, not showing up for over a week because it was raining (this was a job that was 100% indoor), not showing up for a couple of weeks because of a break-up, not showing up for over a week because it was Chinese New Year, not answering the phone or returning messages because of sleeping pills or losing his phone (both happened multiple times and the sleeping pills excuse would be regarding messages sent between 1 PM - 5 PM), etc. He would pull on our heartstrings and even cry in front of us, however they were just crocodile tears because he is also the same person who tried to take our money and run at the end because he refused to take phone calls or text messages for multiple days until I threaten to sue him. On March 4, 2019, we fired Daniel and Cabinets & More and gave him a bill for all items stolen, ruined, unfinished, and incomplete. The final bill was for approximately $75,000, but I said I would work with him and only ask for half of my money back (approximately $45,000). After a few days, Daniel agreed and informed us he would pay us back. As I'm sure you already know, he did not pay us back and has been dodging phone calls and text messages sent out since. Daniel presents himself as a contractor, even saying he is, but when you dig a little deeper you will realize he is illegally practicing contracting without a contracting license. When we initially asked for his contracting license, he gave us a business license. All in all, we learned that Daniel is a narcissist and he cannot be trusted. Unfortunately, I am limited on how much I can write in this review, otherwise I would explain all of the items Cabinets & More incorrectly installed, never finished, and ruined. That being said, this Yelp page clearly has red flags because all of the reviews are either 5-star or 1-star...the 1-star reviews are real customers...the 5-star reviews are Daniel's friends. As somebody who is a real estate investor and has many contractors this person has issues not only with the English language but how they treat customers. Wow. Do not. It's been months since I've heard from these guys. they didn't even finish the job they were paid to do. And blocked me. It started out a good relationship- but when u disappear w/out finishing?! I'm so disappointed and will be taking legal action. So. Beware. We had a big job-- our entire kitchen... floors throughout... built a room.. built a new bathroom- man. It's so disappointing. I thought we'd have a good relationship for a long time. I was going to renovate my whole house with them & Daniel played like he was excited about it. I mean, anyone making the money to be made helping me with this house- i guess he didn't need it. I swear to u that i had no idea he would just dip and not let me know our relationship was over. Like bro- finish. put the t-moldings on the flooring to finish them, or take care of the crack in the new drywall that was put up for our new office. This is beyond me. I have been led astray. I mean. I'm not a hard person to deal with. I was easy with their avAilabilities, And even was chill when he told me our flooring was stuck in the ocean cause of some bullshit with his vendor. I think it was 2 months we had no flooring on our stair landing and living room waiting for that shit. What else- they put in a sliding door to close off the kitchen from the office, and it's sitting in the top rail crooked. They were supposed to come back and adjust it, paint it- u know--- FINISH?! Ugh. i thought we'd be able to recommend them and use them for more jobs but..... ya'll. Just pass on this company. DISAPPOINTED. Shit- ask him about me. I'm curious to know if he there was something i did. Doubt it. I believe he just overwhelmed himself and couldn't keep up tbh. But let me know that and we could have worked it out. To late for that. We had a very pleasant estimate experience with Daniel and I was really impressed with his politeness and manners during the whole process. I was a bit emotional and overwhelmed because of the poor shape my home was in and after negative experiences with other companies i was also feeling discouraged. He actually beat the other estimates from the other companies and he made me feel confident and hopeful that the work could be done within my 7000 budget. I was going to use him for the repairs however decided to just sell my condo as is. I will be definitely calling him for my new home upgrades and for my rental property though when the time comes!!! I give them a ZERO on customer service and followup. Ordered the cabinets and got a good price. Delivered and we had to hire someone to assemble and install. One cabinet was too large and would have hit the dishwasher so the drawers would not open. Contacted Daniel Wang and he basically stopped talking to us, never returned texts, calls or emails. Went down to his office and heard from another man that he was planning on selling his business. The owner had a good reputation from others in the industry, but lacks experience as a biz owner. Does NOT followup or correct mistakes. Finally got a response via text that he would correct the problem, but never got a where, when or how despite repeated followup texts. So not satisfied with this company! Hired them to put in our flooring the stairs look horrible we had to get it redone by another company since Daniel wouldn't return phone calls or text his guys don't speak any English and were super sloppy left marks on the walls uneven surfaces just a mess the bullnose all lifted on the stairs at one point Daniel had 2 workers come out just to glue down stairs again everything lifted that's when we decided to call another company! I got Granite Countertops put in by these guys and they did an awesome job! I worked with Daniel to set it up and he was always very quick to reply, and gave me the best deal. He was able to come out to give the quote on a Saturday, and was back out again 2 Saturdays later to do the install. I liked Cabinets and More the best because they are very fast and efficient.
