I've been wanting a place like this in Henderson, so I was excited to find Legacy Woodworking. The shop is huge and has access to just about every tool you could want, including a CNC machine. Ken is awesome. He's incredibly knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and always willing to answer questions or help without making you feel intimidated. They offer open shop hours on certain days where you can come in and rent time by the hour. Whether you're just getting started or you've been woodworking for years, they offer classes and have everything you need to learn and build. I'm really happy it's so close to home and can't wait to keep working on my current project and many more to come. When a furniture maker (like me) recommends a cabinet design/build shop like Legacy - you know it's a honest review. Ken and Eric have not only have helped me with many larger projects that I couldn't complete on my own, but they also are the only place I recommend for high quality work. Just a word about me - I've been working in this industry for 40+ years, I've taught woodworking for 30+ years. I'm on the cusp of retirement, so these days, I take on much smaller jobs. I send most of my clients with larger projects to Legacy, and honestly, they're just about the only company I trust to do the job properly, with respect for your home. They pay keen attention to your needs, and will advise you with their years of expertise. Sure, there are a lot of cabinet shops in town, but there are also a lot of companies doing shoddy work, or worse - disappearing with your deposit. Legacy is NOT that kind of company. I saw one bad review - and that just doesn't make sense. Not a single person I've sent there has anything but stellar comments about the work they produce, whether it's freestanding furniture for a home, built-ins that require tricky installation, or commercial pieces for restaurants, offices, salons and more. They answer their phone, or will get back to you when they're free. Their pricing is very fair and transparent, and better yet - they're just the type of company that you trust coming into your home. (You don't want to hear my nightmare story about hiring a serviceman to clean my sooty fireplace... I'd sooner hire the devil before I'd use that company again.) People who leave a bad review on Yelp, when all the other comments are positive, make me wonder if they're the one with the issue, not the company. As a small business owner, it's frustrating to have a hundred happy clients, yet that one bad review is the one that gets all the attention. Leaving two reviews. One long overdue. Both five stars: I highly recommend Legacy for any conceptual woodworking needs you might have. First, my wife and I had the crazy notion of constructing a curved, sliding wooden door for my office, with vertical wooden slats. I figured they'd hear the idea and laugh. But Eric and the team delivered in spades. Couldn't be happier with my one of a kind door. A year later, I wanted curved interior shelves, as my office is a circle. Once all the measurements had been taken, it didn't take long at all for Cesar came out to install. Super professional, knowledgeable, accommodating and even helped bring in, and unbox the coffee table that my wife had ordered six months prior and just happened to be delivered while he was there. Absolutely amazing. I didn't know where to look when we wanted a butcher block island and went to Yelp. They did a truly incredible job on 2 fireplaces with custom built ins. We contacted Ken in September 2019 for a bid on multiple custom carpentry projects for our home... he left after telling us he'd be in touch. Over a month later, we still haven't heard back from him , after reaching out multiple times. I think his lack of communication is unprofessional and a red flag; we'll be looking elsewhere for someone that values our business and our time. read more

I recently called several woodworking companies to make a guitar-shaped Memorial plaque for our only son who passed away last year. I knew that I wanted it made out of wood and no one was going to change my mind. One company I called referred me to Ken Beck at Legacy Woodworking & Design. I sent him the details on how my son would've wanted it to look like. When I asked him how much this project would cost, he replied "No charge - It's on the house." I was deeply moved and appreciative because this is so rare now-a-days. After doing more research, I saw that he had gone down to "Route 91" after the shooting and drove people home who needed a ride. He also created a Nevada-shaped, wooden sign with a heart and Las Vegas skyline engraved in the middle. He helped to make over 1000 signs and donated the proceeds to the victim's families. What a selfless man. His rewards will be great. All I can say is that once our company is prospering, we will give back to our community and others in need. We will never forget this kind gesture. Legacy is amazing. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars with them. They made all my office furniture (nine desks, a hutch, a branded conference table, and some custom things) and all my home furniture. Custom dining table that seats 12, two custom bookshelves, two entertainment centers. I literally don't buy furniture anymore. I just have Ken make exactly what I want. Quality and custom work takes time. Sometimes you have to wait but it's worth it. That one negative review is pretty obnoxious. That's the problem with yelp. One entitled prick can decide to go out of their way to hurt small businesses over nothing. read more
