This is an updated review, reflecting both Cabot Crossing and their property management company Two Coast Living (Previously JRK Management). In July 2021 my boyfriend & I moved into this apartment, in the Merrimack building unit 101. The unit we got was so dark it was like a cave, and on top of that there were NO lights in the unit aside from in the kitchen & bathroom. There were holes in the wall that they had plastered over, and never painted the wall again after covering them (see photos). It took us WEEKS to get maintenance to come in to paint over the patches. Blinds were broken as well in both the living room and bedroom (see photos) and it took them over 3+ weeks for them to replace them. There was a giant dried up spider's nest on the ceiling of our bedroom & a roach in our bathroom (both pictured!) The worst was the giant RAT on our patio! When we informed the leasing office of this they couldn't care less and said "it happens". There were multiple circumstances where maintenance just walked right into our unit without calling or speaking to my boyfriend or I first because they didn't think we were home. Do you want to live somewhere they go into your unit unannounced? I wish I had installed cameras...I can only wonder how many times they did that when we WERE NOT there to catch them. While they don't mind coming in unannounced, they certainly don't do the jobs you ask them to do! NONE OF THIS IS EVEN THE WORST PART! It got even worse AFTER we moved out. We broke our lease early, it was supposed to end in September 2022 and we moved out in April 2022. We gave them a 60 day notice, as well as paid a $4,108 lease break fee as agreed to in the lease. Upon moving out we had no issues, or so I thought. 2 months after moving out I received a letter in the mail from a collections agency stating that Cabot Crossing sent us to collections for $275 worth of cleaning fees! Which is absolutely ridiculous considering we left our unit in 10x better condition than it was upon moving in, it was basically spotless and I took PLENTY of photos & videos to prove it if they'd like to challenge me on that. Also, $125 of these "cleaning fees" were for carpet cleaning when we were in a unit that was ALL HARDWOOD!! How does it get any more fraudulent than that? They also never even attempted to contact us prior to sending these "cleaning fees" to collections which is illegal. When I got this collection letter I immediately called and the office said they had no idea what cleaning fees that it was referring to, and I even have an email from them from June 2022 stating our account shows ZERO BALANCE. It has now been over a year since we moved out and I have attempted to contact both cabot crossing & the property management company hundreds of times with no response. Every time I'm told there's new management, in January 2023 the new manager told me yes these charges were incorrect & that he would reach out to the collections agency to get them removed. Great right?? Nope. He never did it, and I have called & emailed countless times since then to follow up and get no response. My next step is going to be just showing up and refusing to leave until they fix this situation. The ONLY response I have gotten was from the property management company as a reply to my BBB review, stating that we owe these fees because we broke our lease early...which doesn't make any sense considering I have a receipt FROM THEM stating we paid our lease break fee and that it's for these fraudulent cleaning fees!!! I have uploaded all the proof I have proving everything I've stated in this review is 100% true. Please for the love of god do not move here, unless you want your credit thrown in the trash. This was my first apartment after turning 18 and if I could do anything to go back in time and stop myself from signing the lease I would. You have been WARNED. I've been here for 3 years. It's in a quiet, safe area. The property manager is attentive, kind and available. Staff is trusting. This is a large complex and staff has many clients to tend to so patience is a must. The grounds are kept up well and the pool and gym area rea really nice! Way to many negative things to say about this place. But the gist of this place is there is black mold in our bathroom followed by terrible water pressure from the shower head to the faucet to the faucet in the kitchen sink. Black mold surrounds our bedroom window sill and air conditioner. The back door leaks in the apartment when it rains and ceiling leaks. Roaches are found crawling over the floors, the kitchen counter tops and stove tops and out from underneath kitchen floor. RUDE neighbors that never stay quiet and terrible managment that nothing about ANY of problems. DO NOT be fooled by the fabricated 5 stars you see on the reviews. Managment puts it there to look good because they know they are a severe health hazard. Washers in laundry room are FILTHY and you still pay 3.00. Dryers don't dry all the way. read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE. the amount of money you pay for what you get is astounding. constant smell of weed smoke, asking for things to be fixed for months to be blown off every single time. didn't have a hot shower for 9 months. do not go by the mock up unit as to what your apartment will look like cause it is far from it. I loved here 20 years ago and it was nice. unfortunately nothing has been changed in that time. you cannot plug anything in because the outlets are so old they don't hold the plugs in there. Worst place to live. Price is cheap to lure you to live in a disgusting unit with mold, roaches and emergency maintenance issues take days and weeks to be addressed. Then there will be a $ 300 rent increase after your lease ends. This is owned by Two coast living out of LA (JRK) who micromanage the property and is the root cause for all the issues. They purposely keep all their properties 40% understaffed and the office staff struggle with the work overload. The management is worried about the aesthetic value of the leasing office and don't care about units and the buildings which look old and tired with many issues. They don]t refund security deposit on time and keep many security deposit and application deposits. The past residents and the applicants get tired and forget them. If you google JRK residential property holdings, you will find many lawsuits all over the country. There is a $ 300k settlement claim for their illegal operations. Please stay away. read more

If I could give zero, I would. These people are frauds and liars. The apartment had SO many broken things that they refused to fix. I had no hot water for the majority of the time I lived there, and literally had to go to small claims court after months of begging for my security deposit back . (This was after they determined that the full deposit should be returned). When I told them I was going to court if they continued to stall on returning it (this was several months later) they literally told me "good luck" because I "have no proof". My husband and I lived here for 3-4 years and at first it was amazing. By the time we left our rent was ridiculously high, we'd problems with horrible neighbors, cockroaches throughout our building, plumbing issues that never got fixed, sex offenders illegally living in our building, a legit flying squirrel that got in through a hole near the ceiling, and so so much more. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE. My husband & I moved in a year ago. When we moved we actually liked it. Cabot Crossing has gone through 3 different management companies since then. The problems started when JRK got a hold of this place. Let's start with the BLACK MOLD growing on the ceiling in my bathroom & inside my toilet. Maintenance had to come out every 2 months to clean it. I had to leave my house every time because the strong smell of bleach would give me a massive migraine. The last time he came out he got bleach all over my bedroom carpet. I doubt we will be getting out security deposit back. Buy yourself a dehumidifier & put it in the bathroom if you rent here. Been living with an ant infestation since we moved in. Also the carpets are super old & I believe we might have a dust mite problem as well. No resolution to fix it from Cabot crossing. Let's talk about the laundry room. It will cost you $5 to wash & dry a load. People leave their clothes in the washing machine for 3 weeks so all the washing machines smell musty & are moldy. Where you put your laundry detergent & fabric softener is covered in mold. The washing machines leak a lot all the time. Maintenance doesn't clean the laundry room. You might as well go to a laundromat. Let's talk about neighbors. Nobody ever stays here for long. People are constantly moving in & moving out. Within the past month I've gotten 3 new neighbors. One of them on the 4th of July was setting off fireworks right next to my car. This same neighbor throws parties in the parking lot. So be prepared for nonstop drinking & music. Also they have a motorcycle that they ride late at night & early in the morning. My new neighbors just moved in next door. They have 2 giant dogs that don't stop barking or crying. It's like we live with the giant dogs. 2 weeks ago some lady came here to buy drugs. She decided to play bumper cars afterwards & smash into a dozen parked cars in the parking lot. She decided she wasn't done & drove up on to the Uhaul of someone trying to move in. So that's always fun. Your rent will get increased every year. They will have you renew your lease 3 months before your year is up. Right now we are paying $1700 for a 1 bedroom in Lowell. Let that sink in. When we moved in 2019 it was $1545. They also charged you for random fees. They will also charge you $6 a month to pay your rent via the app. Now let's talk about yesterday's incident which is prompting me to write this review. My husband & I go to the office & ask why are we being charged $50 for "non compliance of renters insurance" when we have it. We called Geico & everything there was no lapse in coverage. The lady which was working has no name. She has black curly hair & blue eye liner. She was also not wearing a face mask. She was so rude & defensive about EVERYTHING. She also said that she can't look up our account because she doesn't have access. She's only a leasing consultant. WHY ARE YOU THE ONLY ONE IN THE OFFICE THEN? We asked her why we were being charged & she couldn't even tell us. We asked her how to get refunded for the $50 & she said we have to email the property manager. I asked her if we were in non compliance because our insurance had the old leasing companies information. I told her this place is like a revolving door for residents & leasing companies. She immediately got defensive with me & said they were here to stay for a long time. That's great for you but we want our $50 back & I was asking if that was the reason. When we were leaving & were already out the door she screamed back at us & asked if their was a problem. I felt like she was trying to provoke us or something. DO NOT MOVE HERE. Rapidly increasing rent with no improvements made to the property--actually the opposite. These apartments are tiny and overpriced. There is a hidden extra $300 added to your security deposit if you have a pet ON TOP OF the $75/monthly pet fee. Here are some of my experiences in my 1.5 years here: dumpsters overflowing with trash to the point where it is a health and safety hazard, dead mice & dog feces in building entrances, dog feces & trash all over the property, maintenance concerns go completely unresolved, handicap automatic doors advertised--but not actually functional, often times completely absent office staff & when they are there they are flat out rude to tenants--even if approached kindly. Bottom line: the exact definition of slumlords. read more

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!!! Constant rent increases for small apartments! Our fridge was leaking water so we sent in a request for maintenance to come have it checked out. A few days later, we still didn't hear anything about it so we called the office. Per usual, no one answered and it said to leave a message, but the mailbox was full. We walked into the office and was told that it wasn't considered as an emergency so they would get to it when they got to it. It was a good thing we didn't have plans of going away during that time, because otherwise there definitely would've been water damage leaking onto the floors! Fridge was never fixed and we constantly kept having to remove water from the bottom of our fridge for months until we moved out! The light by one of the buildings was out so I had called the office to have it fixed due to safety issues (walking in an unlit pathway near the woods/train tracks). Again I was told that they never knew about it and would have it addressed. A month later my significant other brought it up to them while picking up a package at the office. They claimed that they never knew it was out and would have someone take care of it ASAP...again, didn't happen! They had painters repaint the buildings and taped up the windows and the doors...our porch door and windows remained taped for about a month- when they finished, they didn't even have the decency to remove the plastic and tape. This place seems to just tell people what they want/need to hear to get people out of their ear then push the issues off to the side without dealing with it. Waiting on our security deposit was another headache. We were told that it went out...waited weeks, never received anything. Called to check and they said that it was mailed to an invalid address? Mind you we verified our new address on more than one occasion hoping to prevent this. Clearly the incompetency in the office was just on another level. A month and a half later we are still waiting on a check, that for some strange reason, was mailed to their sister office in New York?! We were given a tracking number since we were told that it was now being expedited to us, and ironically enough, it says that the package is now arriving from Marina del Rey, CA. The property manager is a 20 something who does not respond to emails or phone calls. So good luck getting in touch with her! The woman who sits in the office is ignorant and beyond rude. The neighbors are loud, obnoxious and are dirty beyond belief. No one cleans the laundry room so it smells and has dirty hair all over the floor. Along with water, trash and people's nasty clothes. The apartments are not worth the rent and are littered with roaches!!!! The dumpsters are vile and people leave their discarded furniture and trash for everyone to look at. I am in total agreement with Kevin L, Vanessa, Secret, Sam and many other, if there is a way for me to give this property and the staff anything below a zero I would. The company and staff is by far the worst of the worst in every possible way. It is unfortunate that the company hired such unprofessional staff, the company itself is by far worst as well. This goes without saying to both the company and staff hired. The company provides no contact information on anyone for issues at the property level. Most importantly, the staff at this location is extremely rude and unprofessional at all levels. The property just take your money and give nothing in return find any possible way to delay your security deposit. They made excused after another and hang up on tenant when called and questioned. I wish and recommend the city close this property and fire everyone there. I had moved out since Feb 2022 and as of now I still have not receive my security deposit when it was promised after 30 days. The staff are useless at the property and are the worst you could imagine. If you are looking into this property I recommend you do not even consider coming into the door. I advise against renting at this location. The property is poorly managed and the on-site management team is ineffective. I lived at Cabot Crossing for two years and would not recommend. I experienced multiple instances of incompetence and failure to provide basic services. I recommend documenting all interactions with the property management since they seem to forget or pretend to forget what they have committed to or stated. Two examples of sub-par interactions: Maintenance requests can take months to address. I had a water leakage/mold issue and was contacting the management for months seeking repair. I would stop by the office as well as send emails. I provided photos and video proof of the leak. This issue took 4 months to resolve. At one point during the 4 months, the on-site management tea called me and asked that I stop sending emails about the issue so that they would not get in trouble. A month prior to moving out of the complex I scheduled a move out appointment to walk though the apartment and verify the apartment condition. The day I was moving out, Roberta from the front office stated she could no longer conduct the apartment review due to being behind with her with work. It is unacceptable that her failure to manage her workload resulted in a refusal to conduct a final walk through of the apartment. They assigned one of the maintenance personnel and he stated the apartment was in good condition and should expect our full refund. They refused to document anything in writing. They said to expect an official answer within a couple days. It took 40+ days to be told that I'd be receiving the full deposit back. read more

A review that's been a year in the making. I lived at Cabot Crossing August '08 through August '09 and have many opinions on my time there. Some things I really enjoyed, others not so much. On average, I'd give it 2.5 stars, but I'll round to three. Just know that these three stars mean it's "ok" with a shrug, not A-OK with a thumbs up. Good things: 1. Pretty grounds that are well-maintained. It's actually quite pretty here. They take very good care of the premises. There's a lot of trees, nice flowers, and the grounds are kept very clean. You'd never expect that such a place existed at the end of what is otherwise a pretty ugly street. 2. Tennis court, small fitness center with a couple treadmills, an elliptical, and a universal gym, an outdoor pool, and outdoor jacuzzi for community use (eeeeww!!). The pool was just for recreation, way too small to do laps if that's your thing. 3. Clubhouse with 24 hr laundry facilities that are way cheaper than going to a laundromat. $1.50 for washers and dryers, unless you are lucky and can score one of the machines that for some reason is cheaper. 4. There's a nice tv lounge and kitchen area in the clubhouse where you can relax while your laundry is going if you don't feel like going back to your apartment. Very handy in those winter months. 5. Good proximity to the highway (Lowell Connector/Rte 3/I-495) for commuters. And for you shoppers out there, it's pretty equidistant to the Burlington and Pheasant Lane malls. 6. At least during my time here, heat and hot water were included in the rent. I will say, though, that the rent isn't cheap for Lowell--my 516 sq ft one bedroom was $910/mo--but with heat/hot water and the aforementioned amentities included it's not a bad deal. 7. First and second floor units have patios or balconies with an outdoor storage closet. Insider tip--if you move here, see if you can get a corner unit. The way the buildings are designed, my neighbors' storage closet was waaaaay bigger than mine. 8. Walk-in closet in the bedroom, which is great, but without a ton of extra storage elsewhere in the apartment, it fills up quickly. Bad things: 1. Not really walkable to anything except a couple pizza places and a liquor store and even those you'll be tempted to drive to. It may be obvious to most, but just to emphasize, you will absolutely need a car if you live here. Lowell's public transportation system BLOWS. If you work in Boston, your transit options are to take a LRTA bus to the commuter rail station, or drive to the Lowell or North Billerica commuter rail station and park for the day. 2. Lots of children live here. If you are annoyed by kids, this may not be the best place for you to live. I mean, I don't mind them during the daytime playing outside, running around and screaming and whatnot, but at 10:30 at night, some people think it's appropriate for their kids to run up and down the halls. 3. If you're looking for a place with a sense of community, look elsewhere. I didn't meet too many friendly outgoing people while living here. I'm not saying they're bad people, but I always try to smile and greet people as I pass by them, see them in the laundry room, etc., but very few people actually respond. They just look at me like I have five heads. 4. A couple of random sketch events have occurred, but some might argue that's par for the course if you live in Lowell. Here's a few examples. One night there was some kind of fight in the hallway outside my door at 4:30 am. Another night, I was awoken by some very loud sex coming from the next building. How hard is it to shut your windows, right? On many occasions, I have come home late and parked my car to see people just randomly sitting in their cars with the engine and lights off--what's that all about? SHADY! 5. The website promised a dishwasher. There was no such dishwasher. I actually went back through the literature they gave me when I expressed interest in these apartments and it seems that the two bedroom units have dishwashers. Guess I should have read it closer. 6. If you like to cook, you'll hate this kitchen. Not enough cabinets or counter space. The stove is electric--not necessarily a negative, but some people are very adamant about preference of a gas stove. The stove is also one of those slightly smaller "apartment-sized" stoves, so I wouldn't try to cram your Thanksgiving turkey into it. 7. I know I said laundry on the premises was a good thing, but it'd be even better if it was in my building and not in the clubhouse. I'm not lazy, but I did not enjoy trekking out in the cold to go do my laundry this past winter. read more

This place is no longer a place to live at. The new manager Nate is an awful and incompetent manager. He does not manage this property or doing anything to keep up with this property. He will not have anything fixed on the property. Buildings will have no heat for months and he does not and will not replace broken boilers to keep people warm and leaking roofs. He does not abide by laws when providing leases. He will not provide printed leases to residents but asks them to sign their leases with out being able to read them. He hired cleaners for the buildings and got rid of the old cleaners. These cleaners sweep floors and run out, even in a pandemic. He does not require his maintenance staff to clean up the property so now there is trash everywhere, old masks, beer bottles, liquor bottles, broken glass and he doesn't seem to care. Per our lease we must keep the property clean but they do not follow up with their part AT ALL. There are roaches in many of the buildings and he doesn't do what needs to be done to rid of them. He has people living in horrible conditions, violating leases and he does not nothing but sit and get a paycheck. He will not do anything. This property 6 months ago was a beautiful place, where everyone loved to live. It was a real community. Now it is a shit hole with unhappy residents. Please remove Nate from manager of this place. He had enough issues running his property in Tewksbury. He should not have a second one. This place has elderly people living here and he makes them live in slums! read more

Pros: grounds are kept clean (with the exception of the laundry room), fake but friendly and attentive staff, safe location, lots of community activities if you're into that sort of thing Cons: they tend to give your packages (ups) to other residents. This happened to me twice, the first time I was given someone else's package, the second time someone else was given my package and cabot crossing refused to take responsibility for this and the person did not return my package). Walls are thin, plowing is horrible, and the locks on the doors are not very reassuring-each time mine broke the person never fixed it right and It still does not work properly. Ugh just thinking of this place gives me a headache/ptsd. Every. Single. Bad review before me is 100% accurate. Granted they have new management now so I don't know the current status of cleanliness and competency but oh boy before when I lived there where do I begin. We did a 9 month lease because Cabot Crossing was our 3rd option to move in we only picked it because our other 2 were taken before we could say or do anything. I wish the lease had been shorter because 9 months was too frigan long. To start off we moved out April 2022 and after months and months of threatening and complaining and calling we finally got our security deposit back November 2022. HOWEVER it was less than half of the actual amount but at this point I'm way too exhausted to bother with them anymore about it. When we first moved in, behind the bedroom door there was a MASSIVE hole, it looked like the previous renters had slammed the door open and it cracked the wall. I literally reported it day 1, they came day 2 and put putty on it and said they'd come back to paint it but they never did. Maintenance didn't do SHIT when I was there. There 100% was trash all over the place. And it would fly around in the wind and make it so much worse. The audacity of residences to let their dog defecate in the hallway is beyond me but people did let it happen and maintenance and management didn't say boo. No emails or anything about cleanliness. The pinky think I liked about this place was there was a dog park, a massive closet and a nice path to walk your dog. However the path had trash on it so there's that. My boyfriend has been building. Working and fixing pools since he was old enough to walk and knows everything there is and we asked why the hot tub was not working and they made up some lame excuse as why it was down and my boyfriend saw right thru that and called them out and the property manager Renee just looked at us and basically said ok have a nice day. So they're plain out liars. There was a time where I was walking my dog down one of the paths there and their main tenge staff had drove around in golf carts to get from one building to the other and one of them whipped around the corner almost hit my dog and swerve around us not even letting us get out of the way and sped off to go god knows where. I had lived in the Merrimack Building and our neighbors once blasted music on a Sunday from 2pm to like 4 am. Listen Im all for a fun time but 10+ hours of blasting music in a compacted complex where each unit is 500 sq ft is plain disrespectful. Our rent I think was like 1700 or something like that for this shoebox and they had the AUDACITY to raise it to 1900 at the end of the lease. We got the fuck out of there and then we looked up the rent just for fun for new renters and it was 1400 or something like that. Renee and Nate Pratt were part of the previous staff and I cannot express to you how much they sucked. Nate Pratt manages The Residences as well in Tewksbury and I'm originally from Tewksbury and have heard nothing but horrible things. It sucks because people want to move out and not deal with these sucky management companies that take over but a lot of the time they can't due to financial/credit reasons. !!!TOTAL DUMP OF A COMPLEX!!! The company that owns the complex is a multi million dollar company and yet somehow the complex is a complete dump. Over priced for the space and amenities. They show you a beautifully renovated model apartment to hook you and then you move in to a barely cleaned up unit that looks as if it were painted by a toddler. There is literally trash all over the grounds. They don't even provide maintenance crew with trash bags to clean up the trash that blows around the grounds all day long. You walk outside on a a hot summer day and you can actually smell the filth. You could be the cleanest of people and still wind up with COCKROACHES. Pretty sad when you don't even feel comfortable opening your doors or windows in fear of letting in an infestation of bugs. There is hardly ever anyone in the office and if there is, they have absolutely no idea what's going on. Laundry room is consistently filthy, and the machines never work, constantly eating up your money. When brought to the attention of staff they say it is "out of their hands" as the laundry machines are property of a third party company. Dog urine/feces everywhere, even sometimes indoors in the hallways. Snow removal in the winter is a joke. I could go on and on about how terrible this place truly is. I can't advise enough to RUN in the opposite direction of this property. You will waste your time, money and energy. read more

I have lived on this property for 1.5 years, and I cannot have a more positive experience. I have had issues where I get charged a non-compliance for not have renters insurance. But I walk into the office show proof of insurance and the charge is immediately reversed. Any maintenance issue gets resolved immediately. So many complaints I could make. Not just on my own negative experiences but also those of some of my more decent (there are a lot of sketchy people here) neighbors. All can pretty much be traced back to the management, JRK. Let's start with packages constantly being stolen despite their "policy" that all packages go to the front office. Also the laundry room is always gross. And they DONT EVEN RECYCLE AND ITS 2019. What else.... oh the snow removal was a joke, spent months living on an deadly ice rink. The cops are always here. The fire alarm goes off constantly because of bad tenants they allow. And JRK doesn't release your security deposit for weeks and then can't be bothered to call back and answer questions about mysterious deductions. All in all it was a blessing to get out of here even if we didn't get all of the money back we deserved. read more

We read plenty of positive reviews about this place before moving cross-country to MA. It was never meant to be a permanent solution but due to other arrangements falling through, we did almost a year here. Within the first week, Lowell PD broke down my our neighbors door with guns drawn. That became a fairly regular occurrence since everyone seems to have a domestic violence issue in this place. Outside of this, the fire alarm went off every other Friday right at my children's bedtime...all because most people who live there can't properly cook. Next was the bug problem, between roaches, carpenter ants, and other beetle like creatures....we just felt dirty all the time...even after we "cleaned" our clothes in the broke down washers. I had hopes that new management would fix things and maybe they will, who knows. All I know is we had to wait over a month to get our deposit back...with deductions that we were assured didn't exist at the time of move out. So I am guessing there will be no change. read more

I want to share my horrible experience with Cabot crossing. I moved in December 2018 . I regretted moving there the 2nd day I was there. I hade to pieced of furniture delivered ( wood television stands) I paid over 800.00 for these items. They were too big for my unit and placed a note on the boxes in the hallway that FedEx would be pickling them up. Each box weighed over 50 lbs. The boxes were stolen from the front hallway and management did nothing. The new management at Cabot crossing is horrible. You call and no answer, you leave a message and no return call. It seems like they tried to upgrade a government housing project. People are on drugs, the hallways are a mess. they smell like smoke . Cops are in the complex on a regular basis. If you care about where you live I would recommend that you stay far away from Cabot Crossing . Majority of the community is clearly low income people who pay minimal rent. read more

My review is below. First, I think the review by Tom D. from Beverly, MA (below) is very good. I'd agree with a lot of it, and encourage you to read it - it gives you a lot of detail. especially on the Good things. And upon re-reading it, I found it quite amusing and informative, and enjoyed the author's self satire. I'm more of a reader than a writer. I really need an editor, so Tom: If you're interested, let me know. Concerning the Drawbacks he cites: I'll say that it's almost 2 1/2 years later and some things have changed, with some nice improvements. I think the sense of community is better here now than it was in 2009. There are children here (which I like) but they aren't out late at night, screaming. The security has been improved since then. I'm not sure about the Lowell public transportation, I prefer to walk when I'm in town. So, I wouldn't know. It is true that there aren't a lot of stores within easy walking distance, and you do have to walk to the laundry (although some people drive from their apartment to a space close to the laundry, to make it easier, if they can. Most people would need a car to live here. Consider that this place is near the Chelmsford line at the end of Bowden St. abutting woods, so it offers quiet and really doesn't feel like the city, which I like. I'd agree that the kitchen's and apartments are one the small side, so be aware of that, and plan for it. They now offer more two bedroom apartments than they used, so ask about that if it's a concern since there has been some remodeling. Except for the things I noted that have improved since 2009, I'd agree with Tom's very detailed review, and encourage you to read it and don't miss the humor, mostly. As for the "Sketch Events" - my building is kind of quiet but what apartment complex isn't without this type of occasional drama or it's urban legends? The drawbacks he cites either don't bother me, or have been improved, so I give Cabot Crossing five stars and encourage people to think about what they value and want in an apartment and ways to adapt to any limitations, and be prepared and ask questions of the staff because they do a good job at changing with the times and being flexible. I'll just add this... I moved in here on Sept 11, 2008. So, a lot has changed since then everywhere. I also know lots of people who have been here much, much longer. Value does mean different things to different people, but they provide value that is more widely appreciated than is typical. What I like most is: It's very quiet and very safe here. (due to location, security & residents) The amenities are truly "awesome" and their convenience really enhances them: having a gym and sauna on site (open 4:00am-11:00pm) will cause most people to use it more than having to drive to a gym they have to pay for. This is evident because a wide variety of residents use it - not just fitness fanatics. The exceptional green landscaping of the grounds. Having trees and flowers so well maintained in a semi-secluded location makes the air quality well above average for the city, another health advantage. I'm really trying to stay in good health, although laps aren't my thing, either. I mostly sit in the shade when at the pool. The pool / hot tub is very well maintained and run by professional lifeguards and with the picnic/bbq areas is very popular in the summer and the residents are very friendly and it's a nice social area and great for children, who really love the pool. 24 hour laundry. Always ample parking. Efficient snow removal. Excellent well organized staff. The list goes on, but I'll finish. read more
