Came in for happy hour, close to closing, on a Sunday evening, and still had a great experience. The service was very kind and attentive throughout our visit. I ordered the salmon aburi, which was $16 during happy hour (about $4 off the regular price), and it was pretty good. The salmon and rice were cooked well, and everything was flavorful. Cactus is always consistent in service, food quality, and ambiance. No wonder its consistently the busiest restaurant in Kelowna - even in slow season. I usually end up getting the prawn crunch roll, but the creole chicken is my favourite meal if you're looking for something more hearty. The location is right in the heart of Downtown Kelowna. I absolutely love cactus club! My man and I celebrated our one year anniversary at the Kelowna downtown location on January 17. We got a great booth and then they gifted us some complementary tickets to Dawson Gray .... playing across the street at the community theatre. That was a super great addition to our night of celebration. We also got a delicious piece of cheesecake and the food was amazing as usual. The servers and the hostesses were excellent. This is where we had our first date and why we wanted to come back for our anniversary. I think we'll make it a tradition every year to celebrate it there. read more

Frozen Bellini was great, a bit sweet, but i like it sweet. Upgraded from a 2 oz to a 3 oz for $1.50!!! Szechuan chicken lettuce wraps were really good. Per our waitress' recommendation I added rice and had the lettuce shredded. It was excellent! Tuna temaki was also superb. Our waitress was bubbly and friendly. The service from our service was excellent. He was entertaining and very attentive. The star was removed due to them not being able to tell us an approximate wait time. Everywhere else can say somewhat of a time limit. That helps decide if we will wait or not. With that being said, they had us in for a table of 4 within 5 mins. My family and I came here on a weekend trip to Kelowna. It was bustling on a Saturday afternoon; most tables were full. It gives off a trendy vibe and seems like a popular spot to eat while on vacation - it's right on the harbor, has a long bar, and offers a full menu of fusion food and drinks. I ordered the Med Bowl, which was Mediterranean-inspired, with falafel and chicken. Although the portion was generous, the chicken was a bit dry. I also had the Soul Revival, a non-alcoholic drink with ginger beer, lime, turmeric, jalapeno, and Thai basil. Phenomenal food! Server Sam was great! We over ordered because I like to sample food and wasn't planning on actually eating everything. That was a mistake LOL. Red Thai Curry was amazing - best I've had in a decade and ate most of it. Peppercorn rib eye - son demolished. Truffle parm chicken - kids demolished. Panko crunch sushi - holy cow - amazing! I was here on Tuesday, for lunch. There is nothing special about it other than what I ordered. My family and I ordered the blackened creole chicken and it was very delicious. I did wait for about an hour for it. The service was too mediocre for a waterfront location in a high end area of Kelowna that I am supposed to brag about. What a GREAT lunch location! If the weather is nice, all the windows are open and the sun shines in. It's gorgeous. We sat downstairs on the marina side and had some great people and dog watching as we enjoyed a late lunch. Lettuce wraps were the great and a really plentiful portion. It's lightly fried chicken (or tofu) with lots of peanuts and some veggies. Really tasty! The hunter chicken was big and the side items of mushrooms, green beans and mashed potatoes were all well done and seasoned. The two rice bowls were so different but both very good. The teriyaki chicken rice bowl was my favorite but my dad loved the tofu rice bowl. Everything we had to eat was good and I would get any of them again. Pet peeve: we sat in the sun right at the window. 75% of the restaurant was shaded at that point and another table asked to move to a more shaded area. Instead of moving them they said they would put down the window shades. Why open the windows if only to block them with huge Black opaque shades? I told the woman who was lowering them that we sat there for the sunshine and view. She lowered it 3/4 of the way down. Next time, move the people who ask to be moved. The restaurant has lots of open tables at that time. Would I recommend this place? Absolutely. I would get any of our food again and I enjoyed the view and sun. read more

He gave us a few great recommendations for wineries and when one of our party mentioned a small issue with their meal, he was deeply sorry and made it right. I usually go with their Bellini however I wanted to try the new cocktail. For my main, I had the jambalaya rice bowl with only chicken and shrimps as I don't eat chorizo or bacon. After seeing and walking by many Cactus Club's in BC, we decided to finally try it out at this nice waterfront location. We went in not really expecting much only to be blown away by the food and the service. From reading previous reviews, it's a bit of a mix bag here. However, they get incredibly busy. As they did on a Friday evening. So as a customer, when you see how obviously busy it is, a little patience and understanding goes a long way. I took a chance and ordered the Baja Fish tacos. Now, coming from Southern California and having REAL Baja Fish tacos, I was super skeptical. I didn't expect much at all but really wanted something similar to back home. And I only had Mexican food in Canada once years ago and quickly learned my lesson. Never again. But.. these tacos were a surprise hit for me and my wife who had to try one. Canada, you have upped your game! Crispy batter. Decent sauce and dare I say, even a little spice. And it didn't come from a bottle of Franks RedHot sauce. What!? My wife had the chicken sliders which were tasty and my son got the kids cheeseburger. Just meat and cheese and it was huge! He was going crazy over it so I had a bite and quickly knew why. It was super tasty! I assume it's that Canadian beef I always hear about. Much better than some restaurant burgers in the states. It had a level of flavor and quality I am just not used to without smothering the burger with sauce and bacon. Sometimes keeping it simple is better. In all, a great location. Nice views. Beautiful people everywhere. Servers that hustle with smiles. Great drinks to get your happy buzz on. And tasty food from a kitchen that seems to honestly care what they are serving.
