Absolutely love this place. It's always been a nostalgic place for me, and how it's set up is amazing. There's mini golf to play while you're there with a pretty fun and well-set up course. Only critique there is that the water isn't really well maintained. The service is always pretty neat, nothing extravagant, but exceptional. They're really good at taking orders there, even when it can be hard because of background noise. The food there is amazing, though. They have some of the best french fries I've had, perfectly golden and salty. They also have good burgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, and more. When we saw this place I didn't look great on images, but when we got there it turned out to be a very good 18 hole course. There were lots of great and unique holes. Fun but challenging at the same time. The people at the counter were very nice also. read more

The greens are not in the greatest condition, but I still gave it 5 stars due to the fun holes, ample shade and plentiful food options. They list the course record right near the first tee, so I had hope (39 for 18 holes seems reasonable), but the course was certainly not easy. Went for mini golf. Nice folks running it. In its day probably a nice course, simply has not been kept up.

Just a quick stop for ice cream. Maine Blueberry was very good. They do need sturdier bowls for kid cups.

Absolutely disappointed. Staff super inattentive, inconsiderate, quite frankly kind of dumb. Stood at the window to order food was ignored as I saw employees standing at the counter. No one informed me they were closed, meanwhile we all were in talking distance. My fiancé and I walked away very hungry very disappointed and utterly confused at the disrespect in their customers. Customer service from my experience not in their interest. Not worth the visit. read more

As far as the food goes, Everything here seems to be frozen and then just thrown into a deep fryer. Ownership seems to have trouble keeping help and they don't do themselves any favors by posting a sign out front that blames the $600 pandemic unemployment aid on the reason they don't have employees. Maybe it's because you don't pay them enough? Anyone that's looking for solid roadside food or ice cream would be much better served driving 10 minutes north and going to the Bistro Box. read more

A roadside burger stand with simply the best burgers around anywhere. Just like a backyard barbecue, always good. Plus there are delicious items other than burgers, including ice cream. The place has miniature golf and batting cages for some family fun. read more

I have eaten here several times, often it's good. It does seem to have gone down hill since new owner took over. The menu has blackened chicken which i asked the window server about and she described a deep fried chicken patty that sounded wonderful. I also asked for tomato and lettuce on it. There was also homemade onion rings which i thought would be a good switch. I tipped ahead of time, big mistake. When i received the chicken sandwich, it was burned beyond recognition. They weren't kidding when they said blackened!!! The onion rings were not homemade, they were typical frozen boxed onion rings. Not what they used to serve. I did go up and very politely made a complaint. I said, to both server and man cooking, that they should never let food go out that is that burned. The girl apologized and said that she was sorry. I told her it wasn't her fault but she had to see it when she put lettuce and tomato on it, and she shouldn't serve something that way. There were no nasty words, just some advice. I did however write the owner an email. I explained to him what happened and i also added that the cook had wild unkempt long curly hair. It's not the most appealing thing to see in someone that is preparing your food. His response back was; my servers told me that you walked up to the window and said 'Don't smile at me!' (now, who would ever say this? I did not) He also told me that the chicken was raw and had to be thoroughly cooked, that it was not burned. I wished I took a picture of this. I give you (the reader) my word that this was just about ash. The window server watched us (we sat in our car) and watched me look at my sandwich and then looked back at the cook. I noticed this because I looked up when i saw my sandwich. The nail in the coffin was the owner telling me that i should read his sign which states : 'be patient, be kind or be gone' . Honestly, i expected an apology and a reply that he would make good on the food. Instead i received very harsh words. You have to wonder; if a customer is writing a letter about a bad food experience, would they honestly take the time if they made it up? Would they also do the same if they up walked up to a server and barked at them to not smile at them? Totally baffled and unhappy enough to make a complaint to the health department. The owner Keith is right about one thing: we are gone, never to darken his food establishment again. read more

Went here after going on a hike with the man, I ordered the hole in one. Hot dog, fries and a drink, the man ordered a double cheese burger and fries. The food was really good and we will be back to play mini golf next time. read more

One of the few roadside " fast food " eateries left . Mini golf , batting cages etc and really good food ! The Texas footling loaded and onion rings are my go to. The crab cake sandwich my wife had was awesome ! The price is right also ! Enjoy the ice. Cream after :-) read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Such a good place for a hangout in good weather! Kids love it especially! They have indoor and outdoor seating and awesome ice cream and oh by the way did I forget mini golf?!!! Came here (over an hour drive) to have dinner and play disc golf. Parked near the snack bar per usual. Was approached by a angry man wearing a tie die shirt telling me I wasn't allowed to park in "my parking lot" if I was playing disc golf. Told me I had to park in the dirt off to the side, even though there's about 80 parking spaces that never come close to being filled. I told the man I have been coming here a long time. And he told me "your lucky I've never caught you!" Like it was a crime to go to the snack bar and play disc golf. I will never give this place another cent, and will advise anyone and everyone to keep clear of this place. Not a good way to treat potential or repeat customers. read more

Have the Hot Dog. I'll say it again. Have. The. Hot. Dog. All beef dogs, served on a toasted bun. Get the normal Hot Dog, The Shack Dog (my favorite), The Footlong, Grandma's Texas Footlong.. They are all delicious and probably the best you'll fine in the state. Be sure to pair it with their hand-cut fries. The Ice Cream is delicious too, The mini-golf is fun, and it's all super affordable. You really can't beat this joint for an evening of food and fun, while it's open, that is. Caddie Shack is a seasonal roadside burgers and ice cream joint on Rt. 7 in Canaan, CT. We drove by it a hundred times before a fortuitous intersection of ice cream desire and driving by it happened ... and we've become Caddie Shack ice cream addicts. I like it soft: the soft-serve is delicious and does not have that grainy texture found at Dairy Queen ... you can tell that it's high-quality stuff. The wife, well she likes it hard: hard ice cream is the only ice cream she eats, and as someone who suffered with food allergies for years before her allergies were cured and quality of life saved by a pediatric allergy specialist (when she was about 38 years old) (ask your MD about VeraMyst ... OMG), she savors every meal and treat and won't put anything not top-shelf in her belly. Well Caddie Shack passed the Princess Test, and we're there pretty much every weekend from May to October for our weekly ice cream treat. We can't testify to their burgers, dogs, chicken fingers, fries, and all that as we've never had them, but while we sit in the parking lot and people-watch while enjoying the best ice cream in the Berks, there is a constant stream of people at the food window. I do know that they cook every meal as ordered ... there is no rack of burgers made in advance, etc. which is great. PS - they have mini-golf, an arcade, and batting cages, too. Can't testify to those elements of their business but they never seem to be without patrons. read more

The guy running the mini golf never gave us a score card so when we went back to get it he stated that he didn't have any pencils and that's why he didn't give us a score card. We had to then go back to the car to search for a pen. Who wouldn't want to keep score while they played? While we were playing it was getting dark and we were wondering when they would turn the lights on. About half way through the water was turned off. While we were on the 17th hole he was out collecting the flags and we asked him why the lights weren't on and he said that they wouldn't be putting the lights on till later in the summer, it was July 9th! Then he took the flag out of the last hole before we played it, it was hard enough to see since there were no lights on. We also had a group of four people playing several holes behind us. We had a good time and the food was good but we were disappointed. If they were open and had paying customers they should have had lights on and left the water running until we were finished. We finished before 9 pm. read more
