This place was very busy even in the late afternoon around 2pm. We all had the maple butternut squash soup, 2 thought it was ok, 1 didn't like it, the other thought it was OK. We shared chocolate chip pancakes but there wasn't many choc chips and didn't seem to have them actually mixed in the batter. The cappuccinos were ok. The apple brie grilled cheese was pretty good, the Thanksgiving sandwich was ok. Not sure if the dishes were just ok because it was super busy but it was decent, but not outstanding. Its in the main drag in the city so im sure they are always busy.

The view from outer table. Nice!

This place is charming and the food and service were excellent! We went on a Wednesday for lunch. We were seated quickly and our server, Lynn, was a delight. Our food arrived very quickly and it was delicious!

Incredibly fast! the service and the food: a perfect display of craft! Seating is limited so get there fast, before the morning crowd-crash. There is sidewalk seating if you don't mind eating with a gentle beating of your heart like a romantic old goat grazing in the park. All-n'-all? it was stark!

    Lipstick stain on my cup!

Expected better from Lenox. This place had the charming vintage feel but it stops there. Thanksgiving sandwich was pathetic and clam chowder was clumpy from thickening agent. Barely had one clam in the whole cup of potato in thick gravy. $18 Sandwich had two thin sad slices of turkey between two slices of bread with stuffing from a freezer, with some sad tortilla chips from a bag on the side. Can get a way better sandwich from the supermarket. Finally, to top it all my water cup had lipstick. Waitress said, "o yea, sometimes that happens." Yea? Then do a check before bringing it out! Yuck! Felt sick as I left. Ugh!

Nice spot to stop for a bite AND you can get breakfast any time!!

Cute place with my favorite thing: breakfast all day! Had a fantastic western omelette and home fries that were worth eating - nicely seasoned and crisp. Good service and fair prices. Definitely worth stopping here!

We were looking for a breakfast spot that wouldn't break the bank while staying in Stockbridge, and we went to the Main Street Cafe. It's a cute little breakfast/lunch spot with plenty of options. I tried the buffalo eggs Benedict which was perfectly spicy. We also ordered the Popeye quesadilla that had egg and spinach. The salsa that came with it was beyond fresh and incredible!

Ever wonder whether heaven really exists? Well, the answer is a big YES! It's right here. The Main Street Cafe in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. We couldn't leave, it was so good. Everything was lethally, extraordinarily, supremely delicious. Outstanding coffee, breakfast, lunch, and in particular the Italian wedding soup.

The bread will go home with us. The pizza is for dinner. Each pizza would probably serve one adult man and are absolutely delicious. Cooking instructions are on the wrap - put them right on the rack. Crispy crust has plenty of air pockets to keep it light with a good chew. The BBQ onion is sweet. The roasted garlic had a bunch of garlic scattered all over. Lots of cheese on both. The last pizza, roasted red pepper, will be for another day. They had about five pre-made frozen pizza options when we visited. If you prefer, call ahead and they will build one fresh to your liking for you to pick up and bake at home. The interior shopping area is small. By the register is a pastry display case with the most enormous stuffed croissants, scones, cookies and other sweet treats. Behind that is a display of fresh breads. On a rack by the door are bagged bread goods. Freezer and refrigerator cases are along the wall. If I lived around here I would without a doubt be a regular customer and try all their offerings. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Cozy seating area by the front door to enjoy your purchases on site. Big parking lot.

We wanted fresh coffee and she actually lied to us about that, instead the coffee urn was mostly empty and not fresh. As for the Housatonic location we ordered some fabulous Almond Croissants and Baguette and San Francisco Bread loaf. Whoa delicious. The woman serving us was outstanding and her very professional attitude was a relief compared to their Pittsfield experience we had. Thank you!

I was very impressed by the variety of meat and cheese. I got myself some smoked salmon pinwheels which were delicious. Our cashier (Julio, I believe) was kind and helpful. He even recommended a cheaper corkscrew than the one we were thinking about since we just needed a single-use corkscrew. He also gave us plastic forks and napkins since we didn't have any in our hotel room nearby. Thank you, Julio and Nejaime's! We'll be back again soon.

It's on the small side considering where the liquor market is headed with Bevmo, Wegmanns and Total Wine and Spirits offering a football field of choices. They key to this shop is that everything is well organized and the selection is good for a shop of it's size. I met the owner who is very knowledgable in wine and what he has to offer. I believe he is French, which adds a bit of authenticity to browsing the Boudreaux section. I felt like I could trust his recommendations and he was honest and did not pull any punches. He gave me a few informed choices and let me make up my mind vs. pushing one particular bottle on me, which I like. I've been at some stores where the owner is more concerned about clearing out a certain brand or a new product, so I can tell the picks they offer are based on that. However, here, I felt that the owner was doing his best to give me several great recommendations so I would return. And I will. After I got done, another (local) customer asked the owner to pick a wine that goes with mushroom soup, so that is how specific the knowledge is here! The cheese case here is unreal ... there are plenty of great cheeses to choose from and I felt the prices were on par or much better than Guido's or Wholefoods. Don't sleep on the fresh baked breads. I bought what may have been the best fresh sourdough baguette I ever tasted here. It tasted like fresh charred pizza crust. I smacked on it all day. I buzzed the beer selection which looked like it had a lot of very unique picks and they even had cigarettes behind the counter. I did not see cigars but I'm sure they had them somewhere. The store is classy looking ... exactly what you'd expect to find in a town like Stockbridge. I recommend stopping by if you are in town. Each time I visit The Red Lion, I find a new great place like this!

Because now, I realize how lacking all other dairy products are. Seriously. We purchased milk from High Lawn during our stay at a local long-term let with a full kitchen. We brought home milk and ice cream. When that ran out and we returned to our regular 'store bought' milk, I was like 'what am I drinking?' You don't know how good High Lawn Farms milk is, until you don't have it any more. If I lived near here, this is the only place I would get my dairy. Now, the ice cream! So, so, so good! It's not overly sweet. The flavor is just right. Again, not over done. It's 'light'. I don't know how to explain it. I got two scoops and when I saw how much ice cream that was I thought I'd 'never be able to eat all that.' But the ice cream texture is light, not heavy. It's still creamy, but not in the same way as my local farm made ice cream is made. It's light and those two scoops were just the right amount. The store offers more than milk and ice cream by the pint. They also sell a selection of High Lawn farm cheeses and frozen cuts of beef among other things. Besides the store and the ice cream trailer, you can visit the cows and calves in the barn. There are also older calves in the field by the ice cream trailer that you can pet. They come right up to the fence looking for pets. Anyway, you can see I am a fan of High Lawn Farm. Go. Don't think about it. Go. Get the ice cream. Get the milk. Compare it to your 'regular' dairy. You'll understand.
