There is nothing better than a diner breakfast on a Sunday morning. I was visiting this area and tried this place for breakfast which is my favorite meal of the day. I got the special Mexican Omelette. The service was great and the food was delicious. The eggs and all of the ingredients were very fresh. This place was very busy even in the late afternoon around 2pm. We all had the maple butternut squash soup, 2 thought it was ok, 1 didn't like it, the other thought it was OK. We shared chocolate chip pancakes but there wasn't many choc chips and didn't seem to have them actually mixed in the batter. The cappuccinos were ok. The apple brie grilled cheese was pretty good, the Thanksgiving sandwich was ok. Not sure if the dishes were just ok because it was super busy but it was decent, but not outstanding. We drove to Stockbridge for lunch after visiting the nearby Norman Rockwell Museum in the late morning. Stockbridge has one major intersection in the middle of town with no traffic light. This appeared to back up cars in at least 3 directions. In addition to this, there is a lot of foot traffic for shops in the main business strip, which further impedes traffic flow at the crosswalks. There are also some tour buses to contend with. My advice: try to find a side street to park on and stay out of the primary intersection. The business district is only 2 - 3 blocks long fronting the main street. The café is roughly in the middle of this. We saw, after eating here, that it is in the same building where Rockwell's original studio was located (it was above and to the right, facing the building). One of the works prominently featured in the museum was of this business district in the 50s or 60s (when the trees were much smaller), but it is worth a look for comparison. When we arrived (probably around 12:30 p.m., the café was almost full. They had one open table, luckily for us. After that they started a waiting list. While there are outside (bench) seats, these are only for waiting for take-out and not for on-site dining. The space inside was not expansive. Our server was friendly and efficient. Despite how busy they were, the servers kept on top of things. The menu had decent variety. I liked my BLT. The associated 'chips' were not actually potato chips, but rather sort of multi-grain round tortilla chips. That wouldn't have been my first choice, but it was okay. My wife enjoyed her sandwich and side-salad as well. I don't recall whether one or both of us got coffee, but it was good also. There were a few other small restaurants in Stockbridge, but I had no regrets about choosing to have lunch here. My only advice would be to come as early as is practical in hopes of avoiding the rush. read more

Expected better from Lenox. This place had the charming vintage feel but it stops there. Thanksgiving sandwich was pathetic and clam chowder was clumpy from thickening agent. Barely had one clam in the whole cup of potato in thick gravy. $18 Sandwich had two thin sad slices of turkey between two slices of bread with stuffing from a freezer, with some sad tortilla chips from a bag on the side. Can get a way better sandwich from the supermarket. Finally, to top it all my water cup had lipstick. Waitress said, "o yea, sometimes that happens." Yea? Then do a check before bringing it out! Food was delicious! We had the tomato avocado quesadilla and a chicken salad sandwich. The price was a bit higher than we are used to, but we felt like the freshness of the food (& the quantity) helped to justify that. Also- We are from the south, so we are used to air conditioning in our businesses on hot days. Stopped in for a quick lunch. The menu is quite expensive! There were so many yummy choices I had trouble deciding I decided on the turkey brie melt. It came with chips and honey mustard sauce. The bread was a multigrain bread and the sandwich was toasted to perfection. The brie was so yummy and melted perfectly. The turkey was plentiful. The service was absolutely great! Right next to the Red Lion Inn! It's called the General Store, but not so much a store. They do have ice cream as well. We had a large party so we sat in the ice cream parlor side with picnic table seats. Our servers were on top of everything! I had the Popeye quesadilla...it was perfect! Solid breakfast spot in Stockbridge's town center. I came around noon on a weekday and the restaurant was still serving breakfast/brunch which was a pleasant surprise. The waitresses were fine but not too welcoming. I ordered the Mexican omelette, strawberry and banana pancakes, and breakfast special (with bacon). The portions were pretty average. A lot of brunch places give a generous amount of home fries with an omelette but this was not the case. Everything was very easy to finish. I'd come again for a quick, simple meal. read more

Despite this, we enjoyed the charming atmosphere and of the background music which of all things was country music...LOL. We are vegan/ vegetarian and appreciated the changes the staff was willing to make for our breakfast selections including excellent egg white vegetable omelette sand nondairy pancakes ( using almond milk) . Very fast to go service! The staff were efficient and nice . My only suggestion is to have a section in their menu dedicated to " vegan dishes ". Cute little place with a wide variety of dishes. The kid loved the peanut butter and chocolate chip pancakes. I had the clam chowder and side salad. The salad was good, the chowder was a bit too heavy on the herbs (rosemary I believe). I want my chowder to taste like clams. Don't get me wrong, I ate the whole cup, but was slightly let down. While our initial experience was nice enough to lead us back, our last two orders (6/26/2022 at 7am) with an older female staff were the most awful experience we've had. She was rude and ignorant the whole time and questioned us: "you are not going to sit here (outdoor dining area) aren't you?" in a very rude and hostile way, while we were only organizing the take out order on the table.
