A roadside place of joy, with the best ice cream and soft serve. So many flavors. Lovely service.

This place is seasonal and one of my favorite places to get ice cream, especially on the way home from work on a hot day! I'm a huge soft serve lover and they have unique flavors! One of the coolest things is you can get multiple flavors of soft serve in a cone or dish! They also offer delicious waffle cones with chocolate and other toppings on the top of it. Besides soft serve they offer hard ice cream and milkshakes. The long is usually long on the weekends, but it goes quickly. I do wish there was more seating. Creamiest ice cream I've ever had and doesn't make me crave a drink from eating it. Tastes so rich and flavorful and is super soft. Fast and convenient service from their window. The tables outside could be cleaned better as there is dirt and stains and bird poop. read more

I absolutely love Fudgy's Ice Cream! I am a huge fan of their milkshakes, and although I've only been there a couple of times, I've really enjoyed their milkshakes. I got to try four of their flavors and tried some of my mom's chocolate dip shell. I really love the ice cream flavors, swirls, and milkshake options. There are so many things that I wish I could try there, although I'm almost never in the area. I will definitely be here again if I'm nearby or driving through. read more

Ever since I was a kid I've been coming to Fudgy's Ice Cream. I absolutely love their ice cream and look forward to visiting for a delicious refreshing treat every summer. They have an abundance of flavors and cones to choose from, including cotton candy! Cotton candy is one of my very favorite flavors and sometimes hard to find but they sell it! I cannot recommend Fudgy's more not only for their excellent ice cream but also for their exceptional customer service. There is also a gorgeous seating area that I love to sit at whenever I go. Says it's open until 9pm Saturday but the lazy kids in there decided they were too tired to stay open even though there was 20 people outside at 8:09pm they wouldn't serve. Just lost out on a few hundred dollars in business. Very poor customer service. Never going back again. Just pathetic!!!!! read more

I'm selective about eating dairy but Fudgy's is a must on my trips up Route 22. Located in Amenia, NY it is usually quite busy. Today it is raining and it is very lonely here. Excellent flavor choices of Perry's Premium. I had A single scoop of Deep Sea Treasure ( caramel ice cream with seat salt caramels mixed in). Very creamy sweet and salty! Price was excellent, my cone and daughter's dish less than $5 ( price of one item back home). read more

Great place to stop and kill time if you're early for your MetroNorth train at Wassaic - and only about a two minute drive from the station. Whatever brand of ice cream they serve is better than average and the menu of flavors is huuuge. There's a few tables to sit and enjoy your treats off to the side and we always seem to see some kind of cool wildlife when we're there (herons, hawks, etc.). read more

It was an experience of a lifetime, and well worth the 1 hour drive up from NYC that we took to get there. The icecream alone is worth the drive up and back from the city, even with some of the sumer time traffic. The sign was authentic and completely welcoming. Walking up to the small plastic counter mounted with sliding serving windows is like walking up to an oasis in a barren desert. Some of the windows have smudges of customers past, but that only adds to the experiance. The staff is mostly younger women, who have an attitude that is heartwarming and honest. Those two qualities are often lacking in larger establishments. One women even remarked "Everything is a disaster tonight" which demonstrates their extreme tidiness, considering the overall lack of disastrous happenings. Our icecream was prepared quickly and freshly, you could almost see the cows out back being milked. The cost was affordable, but to be honest they could charge a kidney and I'd return for more. I ordered the peanut butter swirl, and my friend ordered soft serve chocolate and vanilla swirl. To say they were extremely delectable would be a gross, brutal, awful understatement. As we drove away in our navy blue Chevy pickup truck (a five seater that has a nice big back to store logs that we occasionally deliver to our family), satisfaction rushed through me just like the icecream. The cones were crunchy, but not crumbly. Sweet but not overpowering, a masterpiece of subtle wafer. Amenia is centered around Fudgy's and for good reason. Fudgy's changed my life for the better, and I couldn't imagine my life without it. read more

Ice cream was good. Kid behind the counter wouldn't spare tap water for my dog's mini-bowl and made me buy a $2 bottle of water instead.

Delicious, yummy ice cream! The people that work there are super sweet and I've only had good experiences there. The last time I was there, the lady let me try 5 flavors before I finally decided. There are unique and seasonal flavors. Even my birthday cake was from there! It's your typical vanilla and chocolate ice cream with the chocolate cookie crumbles in between, but the cookies were really fresh and still crunchy. If you're ever on Route 22, you should stop by Fudgy's. And if you're heading south, stop by Roundtuit for a yummy, greasy pit stop and then head over to Fudgy's. This is simply the best ice cream shop anywhere! They have a wide variety of soft and hard ice cream flavors as well as a huge assortment of ways to enjoy said flavors!
