And, flexibility is all about it . We were able to get up to Acadia National Park in the comforts of a gorgeous 2023 new van by the informative owner. $10 pp each way. We were hoping to hike down, however, the rains the previous days did not warrant a safe hike, so we me her in the designated spot and have a ride on down the mountain. What an amazing serivce and can not highly recommend her more.

Easy, cheap, and convenient way to your your way through bar harbor village and the national park…read moreof Acadia. We picked up our first bus at the Village Green and road it up to the visitor center where we switched buses to Cadillac Mt, Sand Beach, Thunder Cove. The bus drivers were friendly and eager to assist. The maps provided were helpful as well. The timing of the buses though we were told we're never really on time, we found some to be on time, and others not so much. But we can't complain. Best of all it's free! But don't forget to tip to help keep it free.

I had a minor meltdown upon check-in bc it appeared they had given our room to someone else and we called to complain to the manager, Josh, who upgraded us and was SO nice. Our new room was beautiful in the main building with a gorgeous view of the water. They had a welcome card for me and chocolates and a small gift for my birthday. We were impressed with everything here. Staff were friendly. Rooms are beautiful and well-appointed and comfortable and upgraded. Room cleaning was prompt and efficient (they were in and out within an hour of our walking out every day). Their lobby has games to play, newspapers, and 24/7 access to hot chocolate, fresh coffee, and fresh water and sparkling water on tap as well as a nice business center/printer computer. The women's restroom even had personal items out if you needed them. The rooms are unique and the architecture is different. Very charming hotel in a very charming town. The included continental breakfast was one of the nicest I've had included in a room charge in a long time. Large selection of fresh pastries, hot items, cold items, coffee, juice and tea as well as fruits always being replenished with care and attention. We enjoyed everything about this hotel. Thank you to Josh, Ashley and even Tyler who gave us a history lesson about the inn and the town. We will be back.

The grounds are clean and the flowers are beautiful. If you have any issues they address it right away and there is always a staff member to help . They have a free shuttle that takes you around town that helped so much . Just be aware of the seagull that steals food at the pool they definitely need to catch him and relocate lol and or make a sign . He ruined mine and a few others meals haha . This spot is not far to everything downtown ! It's also only a short drive to Acadia national park . I love it here so much I got married here in 2018!!

I've stayed in a lot of the area hotels over the years and haven't had this happen before, although it's probably not uncommon during peak season, the first weekend in August. There was no waiting at check-in, just after 3pm, although I suspect because check in was most likely actually at 4 pm. My first floor room, an ocean front king, was clean and cool. There was a view of the pool and ocean, yet it was far enough away to be quiet, away from the noise at the busy pool area. The outside of the building isn't what I'd call attractive, however, the grounds are neatly landscaped and the view of the ocean and pool is lovely. It's dog friendly; although I left mine at home, I could hear dogs barking in some rooms as I left for dinner but it wasn't a problem as it was silent at night. I was given a $15 breakfast voucher for the restaurant (I suspect because the reservation at the original hotel included breakfast) but didn't use it because I got up and checked out early to go hiking in Acadia. Check out was problem free as well. It is close to College of the Atlantic and a bit of a walk from town. I would recommend the BH Regency and would stay there again.

We wanted a way to explore the park and thought that a tour would be the best option. They offer a…read morestandard tour and a premium tour. We chose the premium tour which is between 3 1/2 to 4 hours and has 4 stops vs. the classic tour which is 2 1/2 hours long and has 3 stops. The narration is very good and the tour guide knew his stuff. I just felt that the tour was geared for people with limited mobility. During the stops, we didn't really have enough time to explore.....especially on the last stop (Jordan Pond House). They have a restaurant there with a beautiful outdoor area on the water. It is famous for its popovers. I thought for sure, we would be able to sit down a little and have some, but the tour guide talks about the popovers and then says, we won't have time to try them. My friend and I ordered them anyway and brought them to the bus to eat. So all in all, the tour was good, but if you want a more active visit to the park, you should check other options. If you take this company's tours, the shorter version would be sufficient, and then maybe you could do some exploring on your own.

Its four red sails make it easily identifiable from Agamont Park/West Street, and also from the top of Cadillac Mountain in Bar Harbor. Depending on where you sit onboard, you may need to be mindful of the crew's hoisting and lowering of the sails. The many buoys and markers identify locations of the lobster traps. There were seals and a few porpoises on the water also. Bags are screened before boarding for alcoholic beverages, which are not allowed to be brought on, but soft drinks and beer & wine are available for purchase. There are many boat tours & excursions to do in Bar Harbor and this one is recommended. The ride was gentle and the views across Frenchman Bay were gorgeous.

Fresh off the car after a long but fun 4-hour drive from Georgetown, MA, we felt relieved arriving…read morehere. Acadia Hotel seemed like the best of the bunch (to me) in Bar Harbor. This hotel offers simple accommodations, free WiFi, parking on site, light complimentary breakfast, bikes, etc. But the emphasis is definitely on the downtown Bar Harbor location and how close this hotel is to many shops and other businesses. Enter from the main Mt. Desert St. entrance or from the back by the parking lot. These folks almost (key word- almost) thought of everything because signs are clearly labeled. For instance, if you park out back, signs will lead you to the Lobby, Elevator, etc. Lighting in our room was glowy even in the evening and bed was comfortable. Our getaway was peaceful, front desk ladies were all super pleasant, beds are done in crisp white sheets. And even if the cool weather didn't let out, we took advantage of our balcony facing Bar Harbor's Village Green. Our stay was affordable. But my major concerns where the slow (clogging) water flow in our bathroom sink, the odd yellow discoloration on the toilet cover lid (didn't bring up these 2 issues with management as we didn't want anyone in our room- so wrapped a towel over it), the bathroom curtain wasn't ironed and the ill-sounding HVAC system was annoying. Thank goodness we could regulate it ourselves. Affordable or not, expensive or not- issues like these can't and shouldn't happen anywhere. There are several pluses and minuses here- but I want to feel comfortable in my 'home' away from home in every sense of the word. But decided to cut our stay short. I know it takes a lot of moving pieces to maintain a hotel- but damn- wouldn't you want your hotel to run like a well-oiled machine so patrons are satisfied?
